10:10 One year old who'd been driving for 12 hours?!?!?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol
My exact thought 🤣
The parents should have given her a break!
Bro I was thinking the same thing when he said that 😂
That dude that flipped off Jared while he was crossing the road looks like he was pissed off cuz he couldn't find that crack rock
Deep down, I think he wanted to become a speed bump.
Jared failed to mention that he laid on his horn the whole time the "gentleman" was crossing the street
@@DeweyCheatumNHoweLLC Well, the "gentleman" was crossing the road illegally...maybe Jared wanted him to notice the vehicles coming at him so he could be home to celebrate Christmas this year.
racist comment.
@@xo2quilt Yes, but was it one polite honk or a 5 minute sit on the horn button?
Second clip is lucky the city took respoibilty. When to officer started his turn out of the lane he had his emergency lights on. I had a similar situation happen in the 90's and was found at fault.
The last one was cool I've never see one of those before thanks Wham Baam Dashcam for this cool video!
It's a very enjoyable ride and I reccommend it to all tourists. If you search Roosevelt Island Tram, you can see some pretty nice videos taken during the day and night.
Roosevelt Island is in the middle of the East River sitting between Manhattan and Queens. It is considered part of Manhattan is a partially car free area, hence the need for the cable car.
OH MY GOSH! I MADE IT IN A WHAM BAAM DASHCAM VIDEO!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Hi everyone! I'm #18, Samantha. My sister and I were both okay, I just had some minor back pain from bracing myself against my seat while trying to not lose control and go into the median. As soon as my sister and I were safely on the side of the road she told me that she thought we were going in the ditch. LMAO. This was one heck of a way to end a sister vacation. But I wouldn't trade it for the world.
You had very good control of ur car after the debris hit, yeah... you're the better drive of us two lol 100% im super glad yall were safe too :)
How much time did it take them to upload your footage after you sent it to them? Btw Good thing you and your sis were ok
@@sarounthemagicmann2986I submitted my footage about 2 and a half to three months ago
I'm glad you guys are okay!
thats a long time dang@@samanthadaily7548
Do not bother reporting dangerous semis to their company, report them to your states Department of Transportation (DOT) all trucks should have a DOT number on the side of the cab so try to get that along with a plate number.
You kiddin? I was passed by a rig doing almost eighty in a fifty five, and right on the fender of the guy in front of them. Of course the trailer is FESTOONED with the company name and number. I gave it a ring. Option 1, dispatch. Option 2, safety. (What company has safety as option 2?) Safety answered, I said, I have a tractor number and location, this guy is going well over the limit, so close to the guy in front of him that i legitimately could not walk between them. They said “let’s see, all our trucks have cameras, and let me just look at this…..oh he’s fired”.
Oh, and he was placarded hazmat.
Same thing with a taxi. I was on the freeway, left lane passing folks, and this cab rolls up on my back end, starts high beaming me. So I move over, and take off after him. Disclaimer, I’m in public safety. We don’t directly have citation capacity, but we can have citations filed on our behalf. Trained emergency response, and this was an unmarked cruiser. Anyways, so I get the cab number, phone the dispatch office, give the number, mention the tailgating, high beaming, and that my cruiser is now having trouble keeping up with him, and they ping the thing. A pause while they look it up, only thing they said was “wow”. They fired him that night.
As I was well aware when I drove truck (and actually any marked company vehicle) you are festooned with our name, our number, and your truck number. With telephones absolutely everywhere, one call bad enough, and I’m on the soup line.
Do both
Not DOT, but rather FMCSA
Actually safety departments do take this sort of thing very seriously, but it depends on the carrier. The biggest problem is that there are a number of carriers that are nothing more than driver mills that teach you just enough to be dangerous. And the trainers are more concerned with the miles they get paid for rather than teaching. And that is purely a byproduct of freight rates being so low.
Niko in #11 needs to learn how to make a COMPLETE stop at stop signs.
Yep. He just kinda slowed to a creep before continuing. He's just as bad as the one who almost hit him.
exactly what I was thinking.
Agreed, while the other guy was absolutely an idiot for completely blowing the sign Niko himself probably would have been found partially at fault if there was actual contact since he didn't come to a complete stop. He better be glad it was only a close call.
There's no such thing as a "4 way stop" or anything similar in Australia. One road is "protected" and the other has either Give Way or Stop signs, never both roads. The only difference is that for a Stop sign, you must bring the vehicle to a complete halt before proceeding, while you're allowed to just roll through a Give Way sign so long as the way is clear.
Niko's sign said "Ooze"...not Stop....
So Niko "oozed" into the intersection...
#17: If you are going to crash anywhere, there's no place better than right at the entrance of a hospital. I mean, it's so convenient to just get out and walk inside the ER, if needed.
And if you're DUI, crash into a Police station parking lot. So convenient for the cops to arrest you.
#18 Samantha hit a blown out tire. Its what truck drivers call an "alligator". Because when a vehicle hit it, it does a lot of damage. She ran over another part of the tire while she was on the shoulder.
5:49 that wasn't a complete stop.
7:30 The 1998 Mustang was also my dream car as a kid and I'm so blessed to have a 98 GT currently. Glad Alex and his Mustang were unharmed by that less than stellar SUV driver!
The first one is terrifying.
Just imagine the driver's conversation with his boss. 'Hey, boss. A concrete wall just hit my truck.'
@@richardreid6377 lol 😆
Defiance Energy Services is certainly showing defiance about road rules 😂.
Tri axle drivers are some of the worst drivers in the business. The companies don’t monitor them, the equipment is rarely maintained, and they’re used to dodging MCE and highway patrol. I’ve been run off the road by coal drivers and tanker yankers, and I was in a vehicle thrice their size. I don’t want to be in front of one, even if they wanted to stop (they don’t), they usually can’t.
Thanks for including the Roosevelt Island trolly! Love your content!
That power line toss was crazy - wow
I would just like to say that #3 Shawn's reaction was 100% exactly correct.
Dang!!!
Surprised the pineville pd didn’t try to blame Gared for the accident
@@SVEVelsen imo it’s a 50/50 situation. The officer should have looked to see if there was oncoming traffic in that turn lane before he merged and Gared should have been equally aware that someone might try to turn in front of him. Accidents happen though. That’s why you need a dashcam
Keep the great videos coming!!! 💯
This is the best Channel for videos like this and it’s because of always having new videos AND NARRATING THEM. How often I can’t tell what’s going on and who’s at fault or anything is so annoying lol I love wham baam!
Unlike the USA, a lot of other countries use dashcam footage to write a citation and add points to people's licenses. In the USA, if the cop didn't see it in person it didn't happen when it comes to dangerous driving.
A lot of crime is now 'legal' in the U.S. Including a lot of hit & runs. Also inexplicable is how many states don't require a front license plate.
@@Genious.or states that don’t enforce it. For example here in Utah it is technically a requirement but most people don’t have a front plate and are never pulled over for it
In much of the US a cop can issue a ticket based on dashcam footage they just typically wont unless there was property damage. Not worth their time in their opinion. Especially when a lot of places are adopting the totally not racist policy that ticketing and arresting criminals is racist.
@@tarrantwolf There has to be an accident or property damage or something. No harm, no foul. The police see nothing. Since its a victimless crime the police don't care if somebody drives like a killer.
Had one incident where I was on the way to the fire station, guy in front of me took off around the guy in front of him, twice the limit, double yellow. I pulled into the station, PD was already there, told him about it, and he said, if you got the plate, and will show up to court, I’ll cite them.
Nuts, I didn’t get the plate.
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING TODAY
Awesome video 👏
The cable car was very cool, Happy Holidays everyone!
That cable care from Roosevelt Island was super cool!! Thanks for sharing wham bam fan!! 🎉😊
#13 I can confirm driving down Roosevelt Blvd towards the city there’s always something strange happening as long as it’s not an accident.
Dude jaywalking was a homeless dude….nothing left to lose.
I do appreciate that your uploads are original.
What's great about this channel is that it releases the clickbait clip screenshot FIRST instead of burying it deep in the video like some channels do.
As for #11, Niko, at 5:38, he failed to stop, too. Rolling through a stop sign is not the same as stopping. Perhaps if he would have stopped and looked he would have seen the other car coming on his left.
#5 Jared: mental illness is a real problem, and many of these folks are very easily triggered. Jared did the right thing - let it slide.
Nico hasn't stopped for the stop sign either.
The people in the Uber… went into perfect harmony after the SUV rolled!
I love your videos
I ❤ YOUR VIDEOS!
Number, 11, Niko never stopped! He’s almost equally at fault and had they collided his video would have proved it.
Agreed if he would have fully stopped he wouldn't have been in a near collision.
I love you guys this video
Wooooooh only an hour yayayayayayayayay love the vids ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
8:13 - As a former trucker, this is why you stay clear of trucks. Even if you're in the right, there is such a thing as DEAD right. That is what we call an alley back, in this case particularly difficult because it's also what we call 'blindside', but fact is, the SUV driver should have paid attention and stayed the hell out of the way. Too many people assume other vehicles are just stopping for no reason and have no thought as to what they might do next. It's called defensive driving, people. These trucks need more room than you think. Food for thought... 80% or more of crashes involving commercial vehicles and conventional vehicles are the fault of the conventional vehicle driver. And this one was clearly the SUV driver's fault. You don't try to squeeze past a truck backing up, period. And don't EVER pass on the right. EVER.
yeah I think it was probably on the car. People have no respect for trucks backing up trailers, as soon as your a little bit out of the way they just drive right by. We had an incident once on a small road once, the guy backing in went to pull up and straighten out and ended up T-boning a lady that tried to sneak by. Crazy part is we had guys watching traffic, she just disregarded them. People don't realize that when your backing a trailer up your focus is mostly on your mirrors and the trailer, and occasionally your front end swing.
So I love this video
#11 - although the other driver went through their sign much faster, camer didn’t stop either…. 🤷♀️
That is awesome! I never seen a Roosevelt island rail way before. It's my first time I ever heard of it. If I wasn't afraid of heights I go on it. 🤗😍💛💚❣I know it's not a railway I can't think of the name of it.
Tram
@@Sylvander1911 Thank you! I hope you have a great day! 😁😊💚💛❣
New York is so cool!
And has so much to offer!
5:29 "Niko" made a rolling stop and proceeded into the intersection. If "Niko" had made a full stop, the SUV would have been going through the stop sign when he had to "Slam" on his brakes instead of "Niko" already rolling into the intersection.
THIS WEEK'S TESLA BEHAVING BADLY:
6:29 Jvmowa
Defiance energy service is defiant. 😆
5. High as a kite 😂😂
This is why I gave up driving in 2017. Insane drivers in Omaha NE. I'm now 60 have no desire to flirt with disaster. Too many drunk drivers & irresponsible a-holes.
One night I was driving at the intersection in the Hoffman estates clip and someone had hit the power line and ended up in the trees about 4 months ago
Wake up Babe, Wham Bam just dropped a new video
#20, 0:16 what kind of Dashcam is that, with those seconds numbers on other cars?
I wish the dash cammers would provide their dash camera names because some of them are really good quality
5:06 Roosevelt Blvd in Philly. So yeah, Philly being Philly. 😂
Good Ole Pineville Louisiana ♥️♥️♥️♥️my home for many years.
The jaywalker was high as a kite, that’s what was going on.
Gotta love the turn signal brigade.
Roosevelt island tram right next to the Queensborough Bridge!
2:59 Metal rod: I CAN BELIEVE I CAN FLY-*hits power line*AAAA-
I was watching one of your shows one time they said Las Vegas New also in New Mexico they have a town called Truth or Consequences it's on I 25 South of San Antonio in Arizona they have a town call nowhere.
Why does the thumbnail of the semi going into the median remind me of what I did in ATS...😢 i hope all you truckers drive safe and dont take your life for granted or the maintaining of the vehicle for granted either.
same but in ets in trucker mp
I was goin 94 and got distracted by a cop in my video so.... yeah 😂 dont be stupid behind the wheel. Ever.
I once hit a curled up truck tire tread on the highway when passing a car - it tore off my front air dam and played the drums with my floorboards, then launched out behind me RIGHT into a Toyota Tercel's windshield, smashing it completely. Luckily the air dam was fibreglass, so it shattered on impact. No one was hurt but some underwear may have been soiled. Fortunately the damage to my car was entirely limited to the front air dam, but I was picking tire pieces out of the rear differential screws in the casing months later.
1:36 gotta keep a lookout for those Gators. "Alligator - A piece of tire on the road, usually a recap from a blown tire, which can look like an alligator lying on the road". She got off easy, lol imagine if this happen to a Semi hauling doubles aka two 28' trailers aka "Wiggle Wagon"
5:40 Niko S. STOP Sign still mean full stop. Not keep on rolling
Niko is not fit to drive, he also failed to see the vehicle approaching from his left.
3:45 - nice escape Jeep!
Jay walker is probably a SPACE CADET!!!!!!😵💫
9:33 - That truck could have been out of control due to brake failure, but also could have entered the curve too fast because the driver wasn't paying attention or familiar with the road. There appears to be a downgrade here, so it's possible the brakes were overheated and the truck was out of control.
That es300 looks to be in some trouble
I was so sad when I saw that 😭
@@herobriny4359 same, first car still going till the frame falls off or the engine out
#11 must be from California with that "Stop" he did. the ol' cali stop n go lol
#15 (3:28) leaning in hard on the JUST DO IT part of the Nike sticker in the back window 😑
If you're going to go, go HARD lol
One random English 🏴 one.😂😂 I noticed the number plate blurred.
Defiant energy truck driver was clearly defying the speed limit😂
Lol looks like I found a neighbor possibly from one of these dash cams from my town. Good thing that wasn't me on the dash cam.
Usually it’s everyday car drivers that are the idiots, not the truckers.
5:58
the unknown object that came out the back? wasnt on the road before
Number 15 that area is where I live lol
"MICHAEL TURNED AROUND TO CHECK ON THE OCCUPANTS OF THE SILVER CAR, A MARRIED COUPLE WITH A ONE-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER WHO'D BEEN DRIVING FOR 12 HOURS ON THEIR WAY HOME FROM A TRIP. THANKFULLY, NOBODY WAS HURT IN THE COLLISION."
One year old driving for 12 hours?!?! WOW
Number two: ~a one-year-old daughter who'd been driving for 12 hours? 🤣
O k, so does anybody know what kind of camera that was in the video with the jersey barriers. That thing was giving you how many seconds to target, that's awesome
What steps can be taken to minimize the risk of truck collisions at intersections?
4:57 question why it open, oh then thought they need air lol
#18 Samantha is my girlfriend, shes safe and her car got fixed after the accident :)
Awesome.
7:16 Look, how the front left wheel behaves under hard braking. That Ford needs some suspension repair ASAP! No wonder it couldn't stop despite the low speed.
8:40 brake pedal on the left ,accelerator pedal on the right, make the right choice
Roosevelt Island was in the movie Nighthawks (1981), starring Sylvester Stallone, Billy Dee Williams, and Rutger Hauer
0:42 the median should be mounted better so it stays in place when hit like guard rails do
It's a temporary median.
@@WastedTalent- indeed as part of it is gone now
I think Defiance Energy Services will be contacting the OP now.
Thank you for correctly calling it a concrete mixer and not a cement mixer.
I’m from Philly and yes it looks like the Roosevelt blvd and yes this is not uncommon…
Me too.i’m from Philly. It is the blvd , I think going northbound towards Center City because there was a street sign for Summerdale. And seeing werid shit is normal.
7:17 never let anyone go, one of my parents told me a story of “not finding any damage” because they had been re ended with supposedly with no damage, but what my parent didn’t know is that the damage was under the car. Until my parent started hearing weird noises and lights started to come on. That was when they were younger.
You know people, the stop sign means to actually stop not roll through. 🙄
6:54 hell yeah my video is finally featured after sending it 3 months ago
6:58 dude needs new brakes, the speed was so slow and he still couldn't make it on time lmao
They never heard from the truck company because they probably are in open DEFIANCE about excepting any complaints.
9:35, they should have sent Defiance energy services the bill for a wheel alignment & suspension damage, they would have been legally responsible for the damages & acknowledging the incident
The brakes where actually burning and worn out
i love how some of these situations could have been resolved if there was a front license plate on the car the video was clear enough if the was one it would have been seen, i dont get countries that dont have them
Charlotte UNCC area are filled with horrible drivers
In contrast to the USA, many other countries utilize dashcam footage to issue citations and allocate points to individuals' licenses. In the USA, if the police officer didn't witness the incident in person, it is often disregarded in cases of dangerous driving. Instead of reporting hazardous semis to their company, it is advisable to report them to your state's Department of Transportation (DOT). All trucks should display a DOT number on the side of the cab, so try to obtain that information along with the plate number.
