3:13 explains how he uses bass to enforce the bottom
10:58 minimal mixing and tweaking in FL can still get great sound
12:00 use OTT pass on the track very quick mixing
12:30 he tends to owner mid freq with ott because with orchestra tends to have a lot of overlap in mid range which causes muddiness
12:40 OTT is gentler than FL s built in equalizer, and thus sounds better?
This should be the fanfare for Alex Moukala Studios. LOL.
That was fabulous. Thanks so much, Alex.
ALEX TUTORIAL TIME, HELL YEAA!!
You're a beast bro.
this is the most comprehensive tutorial yet... awesome! 👍
Great video as always Alex! One thing I noticed to help realism is to let the brass players breath - some of those brass lines went from start to finish with no break. I know the dynamics going to zero gives that impression of a break but somehow it doesn't feel the same as a gap for breathing.
Great logo theme - gave me STARGATE vibes! Thanks for sharing and discussing it with us. :)
Cool tutorial 🔥
Best tutorial ever
Yoo man, could you try to make a tutorial on "The Orchestra" Kontakt Library ? Have a good day !
Hell yass Alex!
hey Alex, thanks for the tutorial.
I don't find the percs to be bad when you soloed the track but I think it was too busy (too many notes) for the mix
very very good
Another tutorial, hecking EPIC.
I've been using Composer cloud for a while and was looking to upgrade around Black Friday times. Any libraries you would recommend for someone looking to make film score?
If you don't have lots of libraries and need a full orchestra, definitely Nucleus.
But I'd pair that with some Percussive libraries too like the ones in my list (in the description of the video)
Amazing man! So cool
Please make a lot final fantasy and folk song but using strings vst
Sir plz explain this tracks.. "Panning , Mixing & Mastering" plzzz....
almost 50k
how many years did it take you to make epic trailer music with the program?I will learn/try it!
Great tutorial! I've spent the whole weekend watching your tutorials. Quick question: If I'm buying my first library, which should I get? I'm split between Met Ark 1, Jaeger, and Nucleus. Which is the most bang for my buck, including percussion?
It depends on what kind of music you want to create.
Like Franky said, it depends on what you want. If you want to do epic stuff then I suggest Jaeger and Met Ark 1. If you wanna do normal film scores and stuff, then definitely Nucleus for the price. I think for epic stuff go for Met Ark 1 rather than Jaeger simply because of the epicness...
Well, if you want to write complete orchestral pieces, ARK is not the best choice (only section patches for strings, no high WWs, only loud dynamics). I can really recommend Jaeger, but since Nucleus is more or less the same library (Brass & Strings are the same) with a bit less articulations (tho you get additional pizzicato for strings) and mic positions (only two mixes) but with more percussion (timps, idiophones), woodwinds, choir and the amazing soloists, it would probably be the best as a first library. It also does not require full Kontakt like Jaeger. But for only epic trailers, ARK is hard to beat as it definitely goes louder than Jaeger and Nucleus. But if you want orchestral percussion, Nucleus is the only option of the three.
Hope I could help you a bit, I can really relate to the struggle of getting your first library, it was the same for me - and they are definitely all not cheap, but it will be worth it. :)
Have a good one!
9:00 trios tremolos on 3 note at same time?
Hey, Alex. I also own Nucleus, but I'm pretty new to trailer music. That "trio" (is that the correct term? maybe I misheard EDIT: Trills, thanks Alex) at 8:59, is there a tutorial on how to do that oscillation between the close notes you mention? The only way I could think of was to make short piano role notes, but that sounds choppy.
They're Trills*
It's an articulation that should be in the woodwinds patch
@@AlexMoukala thank you
Hwy Alex how did you edit events for the tempo? I can't seem to figure it out. 2:03
It’s by pressing ALT + F4 on an instrument selected, and a tempo automation clip for the instrument will appear
How much would you charge to make a custom one of these for me?
This Ghost Channel Option is so ultra nice, dont know if there is something that easy in Cubase... anyone knows? :D
Curious. Is it necessary to have .825 after the main tempo?
Not really, it's like that just because I was automating it with the events editor and it's hard to hit .00 with that
Please make tutorial making orchestral music using stock plugins
Type on Google vsttorrents , and look . There are all the vst pirated and free. I know it's wrong and stealing , but if you want to do it for fun, it's nice
I really like it Alex, however I have one critique. I felt the modulation and expression was not very convincing. I felt the brass especially dropped to a low volume when in real life it wouldn't. I think with a bit of massaging of the curves, it should sound even better 😁
Definitely!
As said in the very first sentence: wrote this quickly, it's not perfect.
There's many ways in which it can be improved, but on the whole it's still freaking cool if you ask me.
Head to Daniel Beijbom's video if you want to hear an example that is orchestrated in a legendary way.
Hello.
I'd like to get orchestral library to write game orchestral music like Monster Hunter’s(Do you know this game? This game's background music are very fantastic. Please try listening to them ). But I can't decide which to buy between Ark1 or 3.
I want to make spectacular sounds, and I want to use powerful percussions like Taiko.
My own library is only Kontakt Factory Library, and I’m a beginner to create orchestral music.
Which one should I get? Or after I bought Ark1, should I buy some other instrument libraries?
(I'm sorry for my poor English skills.)
Ark 3 is for very specific sounds that work well with film music and horror / tense orchestral music.
For Monster Hunter stuff, I'd go with Audio Imperia Nucleus + 8Dio Epic Taiko / Epic Toms / Epic Dhols.
Listen to the demos for each of those libraries

Thank you very much!!
