I stand for HONEST reviews and opinions! If you wanna support this idea please check my PATREON: bit.ly/2ESMtIO
What's in the box?
3D Scanner module (4 cams, was macht was?)
hotshoe / tripod screw mountable
mini tripod + (battery) grip (5ah 3,7v)
phone clamp mount
Wifi6 bridge
...and lots of cables (good quality with screws to prevent disconnect)
Software avail as download for Windows/Mac, Android or IOS
The cam-preview(s) via USB3 cable on the PC are much smoother and easier to work with - than on the phone via wifi (at least on my older Galaxy S10)
Tip: use the scroll wheel of your mouse to zoom in the live view during scanning!
- WIFI box für LAPTOP: works, but a but slower - wireless - larger scans...
- cam preview speed slower (fewer FPS) than with USB3 of course
SCANNING TIPS:
-use a round-table ("lazy susan"), but no need for a motorized one...
-start scanning looking at the obj from top down (30°?), make a few rounds
than change cam angle slowly to view from the round table floor height slightly upwards
- always keep an eye on the preview, it should be gree - if RED - stop and go back a bit
- for complex parts, consider doing 2 scans and use the merge function to combine them!
- use enough light (or it will loose tracking)
maybe adjust the IR light exposure manually for better results
- be slow and steady on your scans (or it will loose tracking)
- use the "close Object" option!!! Makes it possible to print it!
- use cut tool in slicer (Orca) to remove unwanted groundplate...

Would do, but after reading Trustpilot.... Its not gonna happend.
I was 5 steps from returning it. I'm going to give it another shot. Thank you
Now that I have a new, more powerful Smartphone I will try it also once again, and see if it works better...
Really interesting device indeed, Mario! Fantastic review! 😃
It looks like a pretty powerful tool!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Interesting product. It seems still early, but lots of potential. Thanks for reviewing and sharing.
Appreciate all the TIPs. Nice to know upfront, even though I don't have a scanner. :)
I think you're reading my mind. I've been looking into 3D scanners and photogrammertry recently. Amazing price for the technology. I want one. Link says they can't ship to the US. 😔
That Johnny Five picture was hilarious. I saw a couple of the real Johnny Five robots when I visited the science museum L.A.. in 1988. The second movie was released that summer. Really amazing technology.
And the Posche 911 Carrera. My dream car since I was a kid. And for some reason, I just realized that Carrera means "race" in Spanish.
Thanks for the cool video. Greetings from the USA. -Hector
Johnny Nr 5... that brings back memories from the 80ies, right? Loved it...
Yes, Carrera! Check my vintage 911 sc (super Carrera from 1981) I have a video up from it. Sold it tho... not so much a fan of vintage cars and their failures;)
@@Rcschim Just saw your 911 SC video. Beautiful auto!! I hope you got a good price for yours. The price of one here in the US is about 100k USD for one in good/perfect condition. 50k for a fixer-upper... I need more money.
@@HrDux thanks to US customers since the 80ties the 911 survived! the american market was always important to Porsche! The one I had was the first one with the new (kinda ugly) bumper requirement. and this was due to american regulations regarding bumpers ;)
911s have very good value retention over time!
I really struggled scanning a plane, because too many smooth surfaces
I found it hard to scan objects with sharp edges. there is where it looses the tracking - and then you're spoiled...
on a shiny kitchen water outlet, i used a water spray / powder suger mix to get some scanning done (don't have a 3d scan spray)
didn't try the markers yet - sure nice as well.
@@Rcschim
The plane was a funjet because I wanted to print an EDF holder.
The markers, I tried them but you would have needed a lot.
I crumbled some paper to little „balls“ well not ball just crumbled them to any rough shape and stuck them with needles. Since I only needed to back portion I could easily ignore them or cut them later in the model
Use some cheap dry shampoo spray on your surfaces. It is just the right amount of powder to dull the surface and get good results from the scanner.
i just got the CR Ferret, mine didnt come with any tacker points, where can i get those?
If you have a 🖨 just use some sticker paper and print them yourself! Just black dots, maybe 5 to 10mm
You said hot shoe, but it looks like cold shoe, anyway still watching the video just thought I’d ask about that
Looks pretty good for the price, I’m impressed because I’ve tried so many apps with my iPad Pro and get hopeless results even when using grids to assist. But I suppose it depends on what you want from it, the prints you did are impressive, the animal you printed at 75% was impressive
Yep, cold shoe, I mixed this up...
