I would love to see an update considering the new Bevel Brushes!
On it, sir!
My mind is blown
would love to see how you use the bevel brushes but also the knife lasso and knife cut in your workflow.
I'll maybe cover them in Vol.2 but so far I haven't used them any differently so not sure if I should cover them or not!
Sub, like, comment, ty very much man best tips video
Dude you're awesome, I'm gonna tag you with the suit I'm making
Thanks bruv and please do, can't wait!
damn man u r just great just op very well lubu #nohomo
Wow awsome tips thanks, how did you do the apply round corners to mask macro?
It's in the default settings in ZBrush
Hi Breki Thor, I'm watching in preparation for the live session tonight. 19:16 have you tried using the old move transpose line with backface masking? It'll do the same thing in one stroke and pretty clean tooo. I usually go to the backface mask curve and make it very convex so that the move grabs more points. It works great if you want to quickly fill a space behind a shape, no matter the complexity. It'll work with rotate as well. Scale doesn't do what I'd expect it to though.
... and since backface masking doesn't work with the gizmo you can easily switch between the two methods on the fly.
Oh thanks man, will check it out! Hope you got something out of the live workshop!
@@BTHardSurfaceConcept Oh I sure did and quite a bit at that! I'm more used to working with zmodeler but I see how this dynamesh workflow could be faster for some stuff. I'd have to practice using it more to become efficient.
Very nice tutorial, congrats bro, and thanks for share. How you made the matcap you use?
You got it, my dude! hehe that's a secret 😉
Damn! I just came across this video and is fire!! 👍🏼👍🏼 quick question.. how are you able to start dragging a mask somewhere and then move it somewhere else and continue dragging it? Thank you!
Thanks a ton bruv!! So when you are dragging with any masking tool you can hold spacebar to move it elsewhere
This looks so amazing!! One question though: how in hell Is one going to be able to unwrap and texture something like this???
Haha I feel ya! I always manually retopo something like this in Maya if I want get it game ready! ;)
@@BTHardSurfaceConcept let's say you dont Need It to be game ready, you just want to get a render out of It. How would you go about texturing this? Thanks for your reply
@@MrFede778 If I just do the high poly, then I pose the character and then I usually toss it into Keyshot and create custom materials in there! After that I use Photoshop to bring it all together
@@BTHardSurfaceConcept Thank you!!!
Cool.... hope Maxon will not kill Zbrush...
Hey quick question,
I've notice similar artist having the same grey background in zbush and was wondering if it helps with hard surfacing or just a personal touch?
Hey! Nah it's purely personal, I used to have a darker background but then I decided to move to a lighter grey background and I feel like it just helps a little bit - I don't know why haha
i would like you to show how ur set up the round corners ( i can see you ve recorf thi s before hand in in the macro ) masking ive been looking making unable to locate how set this up ...
It's a default macro that comes with ZBrush! You should be able to find it in the Macros menu, I didn't create it
When doing hardsuface stuff like this do you prefer to use mouse or tablet pen?
Tablet pen! I use a Large Wacom Intuos pro
Quite like the UI. is it available some where?
I'll make it available when I release VOL.2 sometime in November!
How did you make those custom buttons to do repetitive tasks like the extract thin up in the top right of the UI? Is that a plug-in?
I created a custom macro, you can see it quickly in action here: czcams.com/video/JWEpU7Lnx8s/video.html&ab_channel=DannyMac3D
@@BTHardSurfaceConcept ah cool! Thanks!
were fo i change the masking properties enable the round corner technique ,, round the edges of the mask
Macros menu!
Sir can you make organic hard surface like robot tutorials and texturing
Yessir! Will do for future vids!
Hello teacher, I wanted to ask you a technical question, how do you manage to place 2 tool menus on the right?, in the interface. I can't do it. I could help. greetings success
Aloha, I am not sure if this is the right thing you are asking of but I think on the tool menu itself you can grab the grey icon in the upper left corner of the menu and then drag it to the side!
Looking at the intro image, I am confused on how to bring all those tips and pieces together to make something like that. Do you model with a traditional base mesh or maybe this is something that should be covered in a full video? Or paid tutorial. Either.
Hey man, thanks! This video was more like general hard surface tips and tricks. I sometimes work from primitives, basemeshes or scans!
What would you like to see in another video? Would you want me to tackle the full process in a future video? Would be free, of course.
I should know you earlier.
curious if you have your UI downloadable?
You can grab a copy of it right here broski: www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/MGL8A/bt-zbrush-custom-hard-surface-u-i-2022?
Do you have a way for a clean bevel on a curved edge?
Hey! You could test out the new bevel brushes that come with default zbrush!
@@BTHardSurfaceConcept
It doesn’t work with curved edges. It stops beveling when the radius changes enough. You can repeat but won’t get it clean and consistent.
Thanks for answering :)
when i use rectangle mask to mask the side of the cube, the area masked is much larger and innacurate.
You might have perspective turned on?
@@BTHardSurfaceConcept that was it. Thank you. Great tutorial.
can u share nash brushes ?
All the resources mentioned are in the description - but here is a direct link to getting them on his Gumroad: mikeandrewnash.gumroad.com/l/pSfIc
what metcap is that
It's a custom material I created!
@@BTHardSurfaceConcept oh ok thanks I really like it
1:50 HOW ARE YOU REFRESHING IT?
HOLD CTRL & DRAG IN THE VIEWPORT MY DUDE!
WOW Amazing
Don't you use Zremesh?
Every now and then ;)
how do you place the mask in the right position that you want without losing your mask???
Holding down spacebar should do the trick!
Excellent 👌
