The variation with the floor tom was a bonus.
One of my fave all time fills is at around 3:05 in Trampled Underfoot by Zeppelin.
Bonham builds tension in the first half of the fill, then releases that tension with a massive roll across his snare and toms. It’s tight and well thought out.
Absolutely! I've always loved that fill for that very reason. Classic Bonham fire!

Really great job on the tutorial for this great fill, Jeff! Thank you! Matt has always been one of my favorite drummers. To me his drumming has always been on another level, as far as creativity and musicality. Because of that, I've always firmly believed that he must also be a guitar player. I've never looked into confirming my theory, but I still believe it.
Thank you! And you are %100 correct. Matt is a great singer, guitarist and songwriter. Which, as you suspected, makes him such a musical drummer. Definitely helps to see the "big picture" when you can relate to the other musicians. You obviously have a good ear for that too.

Another great video Jeff! I was wondering if you could take a look at Tommy Lee’s work on the ‘94 Crüe album; in particular the fills in Power To The Music. The 16th note triplet fills (Bonham style) have always been a bit sloppy and tough to get up to speed. Cheers!
Curtis! Easily one of my all-time favorite drumming albums. Tommy at his absolute best. Great fills all over that album but, yeah I should do a "quality control" lesson about this classic fill! Thanks for the great suggestion!
