    I think they realized that now its not about competition but about being able to run their games at an acceptable level.

    It’s actually ABOVE a series S in docked mode, and just a bit below ps4 pro in handheld if the rumored clock speeds are correct for both.

    Switch came out well before the pandemic and was already exceeding nintendo's expectations and breaking records. A lot of people speculated there was an artificial scarcity, but it was actually that Nintendo was expecting to move less units due to how poorly the wiiu had done prior, they actually had to find a second vendor to source screens(jvc) due to them just not having enough. The switch also was breaking sales records prepandemic. The pandemic may have boosted to hem further, but it wasn't a driving factor.

    It's really not hard to beat the competition when the competition is shooting themselves in the foot any chance they get. Nintendo in a good spot alright and so long as they handle it right it has the potential to make the other two look really bad, they rushed out their consoles at a time when they really should'nt have even thought of it while Nintendo just rode out the pandemic and ended up massively benefiting from that decision.

    People buy console for exclusive games, most of the PS5 and Xbox games are available on Steam and PC. Nintendo is in a good position because they have games and they knew how this graphic racing would end up. But everything can change, if Nintendo makes a ``Switch U`` we know what's gonna happen.

    as a PC gamer having a switch is great to just sit back and enjoy a game in handheld mode in bed or something

    got more than half way into watching this video before like actually reading the views and like count. was convinced this would have easily 10k+ views and more subs. nice one!
    v much agree with when you said it’s not about the hardware alone but how it’s used. and gaming should be affordable for all! - hell I still enjoy gba/nds games.

      I’m still far from perfect, but I try to practice and get 1% better each week. Thanks for the kind words! It makes me feel like the practice is starting to be noticeable.
      Also, I’m juuust too young to had been a GBA kid unfortunately (that thing had a shocking amount of bangers) but I couldn’t imagine my childhood without my DS Lite lol… good times

    The competition for the switch 2 isn't the PS and Xbox it is all the handheld pc game machines that are now becoming more popular. Switch 2 needs to offer something on top of the games such as being able to download apps etc.

    diminishing returns in graphics is real thing. with the new chipset many third party games would have decent chance to run well on the switch 2. i am a bit worried about ram capacity since games with huge open world or big crowd AI would have some trouble there (like hitman 3) but overall i am hopeful that switch 2 will have much better third party support!!
    (i know hitman 3 is available for current gen switch but that is through cloud streaming, not running natively on device)

    1:17 That is FACTUALLY incorrect. The Nintendo Switch when pushed to its limits and with its capabilities fully unlocked is barely below an Xbox One in power. The custom Tegra X1 chip in the Switch can reach 1 teraflop of graphical performance, compared to the Xbox One's 1.2 teraflops of graphical performance. The CPU was also not that far off from the competition, the only real big bottleneck on the Switch is the RAM. The only reason the Switch doesn't normally stack up to the PS4 and Xbox One in power is because it comes downlocked from the FACTORY, meaning you need to mod or hack it to fully unlock its capabilities. The system runs at about 350 gigaflops in handheld and 0.5 teraflops in docked. Meaning even in handheld the Switch is still more than 2x as powerful as the PS3, and in docked is only just under half as powerful as the Xbox One. So it is infact closer to the Xbox One and PS4 than it is to the Xbox 360 and PS3.

    With the exception of the SteamDeck, I usually don't like consoles, just cause I personally love the freedom of a desktop OS. But the switch feels like something I would actually enjoy a lot, despite all of the dowsides of a locked down system, all cause the games avialable to it are just so good. Hardware is not what makes a console worth it, it's good to have good hardware, but the selection of games is what makes it

    you aren't wrong with what you are saying. HOWEVER, please don't use a still image to speak about how a game looks.
    Horizon has CRAZY adaptive resolution to make the game look like that, and i'm going to tell you right now. MOST people would prefer for things to be a solid resolution image quality and frame rate over one that is constantly fluxuating and looks blurry whenever you stop to look outside of the center of where you are looking.
    So a W for me would be this. I love 4k, but i'll take 1440p at 60-120 fps NATIVE. with a god tier screen, IN portable mode, none of this 720p screen bs. 1440p native on your tv or portable mode to make the experience truly seamless.
    That would position the switch in an incredible place, because nintendo has THE BEST of the best developers, eff it, they are wizards! let them use their incredible art styles to make incredible looking games. We know they can do it.
    The switch is legit stiffling the ambition that some of their teams have.

    @TheBoltMaster456 Před 7 dny

    2:37 That is a false comparison. The Switch when fully unlocked is closer to an Xbox One in power, while unmodded from factory and in handheld is closer to a Wii U in power(which is over 2x as powerful as a PS3), and in docked is like a souped up Wii U.

  • @imadecentlyskilledplayer6072

    Im thinking either the launch game will be either a new 3d mario, obviously, or maybe a new kirby game or a new entry in the dkc series to go along with a new ip. Thats what they did with zelda and snipperclips

    What r u talking about. Nintendo is most expensive. I got a used ps4 pro with 2 Controllers, 1 scuff and 4 Games for 150€

  • @maiwei
    @maiwei Před 7 dny

    Gaming is actually cheaper than it has ever been before. N64 games went up to $100+ RETAIL on launch. Take inflation into qccount and it's way more. We have games that are free to play, indie games that are $15 at launch. PS+ has saved me HUNDREDS on titles.
    There being more options doesn’t make it more expensive, just oversaturated.

    You're right about the games being more important than the hardware but only to an extent. Both BOTW and TOTK have amazing art direction, but they cant even push out 1080p when 4k tv's are fairly basic. not to mention framerate (sometimes under 20fps), load times, and lack of LOD. These games can be so much more if not provided with something literally weaker than my iphone to run on, I've seen BOTW emulated on decent hardware and its amazing. And if the switch is as good or weaker than you detailed, its already even slower than the Steam Deck, a now almost outdated but capable handheld made a few years ago. Nintendo shouldn't be making hardware thats already outdated years before its release, they should at least try and compete with current gen hardware (not home consoles but handhelds), but they don't even make an attempt at that.

    Nintendo was laughing their ass to the bank when it came to the Switch. The most sold game on the Switch is Mario Kart 8 which came out in 2014. Thats right. Its freaking 10 years old. The gaming industry is a joke. Just hoping for Mario Kart 9 and a better AC game. And god forbid we actually get Metroid 4.
