All the young folks talking about hand priming will understand later when they have carpal tunnel’s running through their wrists. The device has given me no problems at all. I have 4 hand priming units from cheap to top notch and this thing beats them all hands down especially after 150 rounds in one session.

As a young man myself (33) I opted for this priming tool just for the reasons you mentioned. Being a welder and a mechanic has taken a toll on my hands as it is. Certainly don't want to encourage the current problems in them already.

  • @mostlikelywedoitservices6926

After dealing with Lees's crappy priming tools and the constant frustrations of primers hanging up and not feeding, RCBS is a dream come true. Not crazy about the tube loading, but consistent loading of primer into the shell is to die for. So paying $100 is so worth my money because my time is valuable.

when I turn the tubu upside down after picking up the primers and put it in place, I pull the Cotter pin to release the primer and use that pin to push those last two primers down into the tube. Then leave the pin in the plastic end of the tube so it's not lost.
I think these are great 👍👍
    Nice video mate

I have one of the first generation tools and having watched this video, I think I prefer the older model. I do have some of the newer primer tubes with the plastic tips, but prefer using the older tubes with the spring clips. I also modified the priming arm by attaching a coil spring causing the arm so it retracts automatically after depositing the primer onto the priming ram. Now I need to locate a leaf spring to slide under the handle so it will automatically lower the priming ram when I release the handle.

Good video, I have the RCBS strip priming tool and it is more trouble than its worth, so after watching this video I will purchase this priming tool. Also the hand primer works well but for a limited case run, it has a fatigue factor. Also for sizing and de-priming I use the Dillon 650, saves a great deal of time.

It's a great tool. I use the Frankford Arsenal Vibra-Prime to load the tubes much faster and their tubes will work in this tool too. You end up being able to load a tube of 100 in well under a minute if things go well.

it will work with all shellholders . use a small wooden dowel to push the primers down in the tube . i made one using a small dowel and put it on a 5/8 ths dowel for a handle . also helps if you but some powdered graphite on all the moving surfaces . had mine for yrs , love it .

I use the back end of the "primer rem" to get the last primer to drop down the tube. It is less pointed that the projectile that you uses here and properly marginal safer.

I've had a problem with the pocket ram both sm and lrg they don't hang by the spring loaded cup but at the bottom of the steel shaft. It developed a burred ring all the way around and hangs up now and then . I removed the burr a couple times but continual removal will only make the issue worse as the stem becomes smaller. Other than that its an awesome product.

I've been using my RCBS Auto priming tool for over 34 years. still my favorite priming tool. Just for your info. Lee shell holder and most standard shell holder will work on the Auto primer.tool. Several weeks back you asked about Satter Lee testing, Well, I Just finish up my Satter Lee test on my Savage Mode 12 BVSS in Rem 22-250. With 35 rds. Now I'll start to fine tune with bullet seating depths. Sure beats doing 50 to 100 round ladder test. Have you decide on a new stocks for 22-250 and 6.5 CM yet? Best get rid of the plastic stocks, especially when it gets warmer out side. I enjoy your video's, keep it up. RH

Thanks for the positive feedback! I picked up a Boyd’s stock for the .22-250. I will eventually get a video or two put together on it. Keeping the Accustock on the 6.5 Creedmoor as it seems plenty strong and stable with the aluminum bedding block.

does this work better then the rcbs hand primer? i have noticed sometimes the hand primer does not line up properly and it does it the most with cases that are not reemed from the factory plus s&b brass seems to have a super tight tolerence

Factory shells are 0.004" below flush. I get better groups with 0.007" below flush. some like 0.008" to 0.010" below. You got about 0.013" to 0.015" below flush before you bottom out.. Better to go lower for floating firing pin guns. (AR's, BLR's ,BAR's) Frankford Arsenal Platinum Hand Priming Tool can be adjusted to 0.015 below flush..
