Thinking about it logically as well, the Greek gods were never really challenged. There were basically 2 events where they had to contend with forces that rivaled them, and the second time was Kratos, who wiped them out.
The Aesir had 8 whole realms to conquer, and at least 3 of them had beings that rivaled the aesir in power, and then Odin was always paranoid about the Prophecy of Ragnarok, so he kept pushing them to be stronger and stronger.

Kratos has stated that he has killed gods greater than Heimdall and Mimir replies that he doesn't doubt it.
It'd be weird to say that Mimir is talking about Baldur, Magni and/or Modi here because he was actually there for those fights (and therefore wouldn't have to consider doubting the validity of Kratos's statement), so Kratos and Mimir were most likely referring to the greek gods.
This tells me that some of the greek gods, atleast, scale above Heimdall in terms of power.

Which would make Heimdall at most around Ares’ level, if we were to lowball that statement. Ares was stated to be among the mightiest Olympians; including with the brother kings, so this could unironically make Heimdall around Helios’ lvl and downscale the likes of Valkyries, Baldur, Sigrun and Atreus (at full focus) around the average god level, IF we were to include Ares in that statement. With examples being Thanatos, Hermes and Persephone.

      @ALMSIVI3e427 Před 5 měsíci

@@theseeker7692 totallly agree with you. There’s an incentive to Baldur and Heimdall other than just being power houses. All of those aspects apply to Odin, so that’s why in the guidebook, he’s stated to be the most formidable foe that Kratos has to face, in overall circumstances of course. Thor is compared to a group of beings in terms of how powerful he strikes, (meaning he’s on the level of Hercules and Poseidon at least). I don’t think that would apply to Zeus due to the immense gap between any other being in the Greek pantheon and his eminence.

It's important to note that Norse Kratos is confirmed by multiple sources to hold back his rage considerably, meaning that his true power has been used very rarely or not at all since he tries to control himself. That's why he goes from losing to Thor to knocking his teeth out when he loses control. Kratos spends a vast majority of the Norse games holding back.

Baldur’s “more powerful than any I’ve experienced” statements refers to invulnerability. Odin’s curse statements refers to Kratos’ inability to help freya against his curse (His curses scale much higher than all of his attacks anyway). Thor’s and Tyr’s statements blatantly puts them among the god tier beings in the Greek pantheon (Not stronger or weaker). Primordial foundation is the same across every realm so it’s made clear that the Greek and Norse pantheons are similar in structure for cross verse scaling.
Odin being stated to be the most formidable foe is also due to the fact of his strategic and manipulative advantages over Kratos, not just in power. Kratos having to use his most “spartan skills” is in reference to protecting his allies and Atreus. Nothing really states that the Norse gods are stronger than the Greek ones, but more formidable given the narrative of the situation that Kratos is facing.
Nothing really contradicts Kratos being nullified other than Cory answering an ambiguous and interpretable question. The GoW 2018 novel also states that Kratos lost musculature and was a shell of his former self.
There’s a lot of Greek magic that was so potent that Kratos couldn’t withstand it (Flame of Olympus, Fear, Zeus’s lighting directly, The sisters ability to manipulate fate.)

Are we all forgetting how Garm appeared to have the ability not just to consume matter, but also to consume and destroy entire concepts.
It is noted in-game that there was at one point a season that occurred between Winter and Spring. Garm, however, apparently consumed this season, and now not only does that season no longer exist, but it is no longer identifiable as having ever had a particular nature.
Nobody remembers anything specifically about it - not even its name - except knowing for sure that it had at one point existed. It also no longer has any impact upon the rest of reality, as there was apparently no discernable consequences for this season having been erased from existence.
This makes Garm perhaps the single most horrifyingly destructive entity in the entire franchise, as he can seemingly consume the informational structure of reality with no apparent constraints.
Edit: Garm also consumed a magical word, as well as a PORTION of Midgard.

I have not seen the video but from the comments i can tell its garbage, and i had a feeling it would be so i avoided it to not get mad
Either way this guy at the top comments here called @ALMSIVI is absolutely right about what he is saying.
The whole Thor fight basically has Thor say that GoW3 is bloody legendary, thats who he heard about and who he wanted to see."Even this lesser version of you"-Thor
Eric Williams, the director of Ragnarok said that after training in Fimblewinter Kratos is back at his former strength.
The narrative blatantly says that the punch that broke Thors tooth was a GoW3 level punch
Baldur being stronger than any opponent has been debunked to death, including in that comment i talked about.
NO ONE,and i mean NO DEV whatsoever said Old Kratos has more brute physical strength than GoW3 Kratos(although by power scaling he is stronger than GoW1+2 Kratos)
Corys statement is incredibly vague and it spoke about who would win, which is different than who is stronger, strength is just one aspect.
George Foreman was far stronger than Ali and look what happened.
Fans kept spreading the myth that the" devs said Old Kratos is far stronger cause gods get stronger with age"
    That has literally NEVER happened.
Its explained in the novels that gods get stronger through prayers.
Regardless Kratos isnt a full god like those.
According to the GoW2 novel after he took the Blade back he would have all his godly physical strength but he wouldn't be a god in status
Kratos is definitely more than a demigod in status but he isnt a 100% god.
Ares and Kratos in Rhodes could do stuff like descent from the skies in flames.
Are could levitate and shoot fire balls from his hands.
Kratos is stronger than pure blooded gods but in status he is inferior.
Zeus godhood was far more potent, who could do basically anything including create clones and new abilities on the fly.
Kratos was stronger and more skilled.
Cory Barlog said a mortal part still dwells within Kratos, which causes him anger he keeps in check.
Kratos IS a god but the term is very vague in the Norse games, all kinds of half breed hybrids with lots of strength are referred to as gods.
A god in general yes,a pure god like Zeus, Poseidon,Hades,Ares etc definitely not after the opening of GoW2.
Matter of fact we have never actually played a full god Kratos,he only appeared for that first cutscene in GoW2
When GoW Ragnarok Kratos goes all out he has the same strength as GoW3 Kratos.
Problem is he only went all out when he broke Thors tooth and likely when he was on top of Heimdall chocking him, both were huge moments and a big deal in the story.
The writers let you know when it happens, they show his face upclose having the classic scowl from the Greek Games(especially as he chokes Heimdall he shows that GoW3 angry face, its very intentianal, the camera focuses on it)
Old Kratos at 100%>>>>>>>>>>>Old Kratos normally/initially.
And he starts from this baseline level and builds up to his full the more he is forced to.
But almost always he is at baseline,he propably was at 70% in the second fight with Thor cause he was serious but holding back and Mimir says "Stay in control of it brother!" if you go into Spartan Rage, implying that he was starting to get close to his full power
So no one is stronger than each other as of NOW.
    GoW Ragnarok(100%)~GoW3 Kratos
Same strength, and again its literally what the director of Ragnarok said
As for Greek Gods vs Norse Gods
Their physical stats are similar, and even the devs said that the pantheons are comparable.
The Greek gods have more variety in abilities and more powerful abilities.
The Norse Gods have stronger MAGIC, but magic is something that is learned or acquired.
Zeus for example wasnt a magic user, those were his natural abilities, they were tied to his psysiology.
Odin being stated as having the most powerful magic only places his magic above other magic users, like Freya.
Same way Thors lightning wasn't magic, lightning naturally cursed through his body.To the point the devs said his internal lightning consumed his body after he died.
    Time to compare the Gods.
Zeus is stated as being propably stronger than Thor.
Odin and Zeus are implied to be comparable on 3 seperate statements, albeit one dev said Zeus would win.
So Zeus>~Odin(due to his magic, his physical stats are far behind)
The dev that said this is the director of Valhalla, dev Bruno.
He said that Zeus and Odin would be a good match due to their similar positions
Zeus is stated as being stronger than Baldur NO CONTEST by Bruno.
Meaning Zeus is massively stronger than Baldur
Using Brunos logic of positions Tyr would be comparable to Ares, who is probably like 1/3 or 1/4th the strength of Zeus if i am being honest
Kratos was at only his baseline strength against Tyr,said baseline Kratos was mocked and killed by a casual Thor.
Thor was laughing at this output
According to dev Bruno Thor vs Poseidon a very debatable fight.
Poseidon is canonically SLIGHTLY more powerful than Hades and the novels say the two brothers fight all the time without very clear result.
Thors blows are stated AS strong AS ANY.
This statement doesnt mean he is stronger, such wording only means Thor is on the same level as the strongest of Gods, which is true.
Zeus only being PROPABLY stronger than Thor should give Thor the edge over Poseidon who is undisputably weaker than Zeus
    GoW3 Kratos~GoW Ragnarok Kratos(100%)>=Zeus>~Odin>>Thor>~Poseidon>=Hades>Holding Back Kratos>Ares~Tyr~Baldur
How is Baldur only Ares level?!
In the GoW2018 novel Kratos says that he" could have pulverized all of Baldurs bones in an instant if he was the god he once was"
Thats the massive difference between baseline Kratos and full power Kratos
Basically the novel says Kratos could have just oneshotted Baldur in the second fight.
Even Odin cant be above the Greek Pantheon simply becausw Mimir said "Odin would conquer every realm on every land if he COULD"
Odin clearly knows a lot about Zeus etc.
If even Odin was more powerful we know he would have conquered the Greek realm.
Odin was cautious of Kratos from even before 2018 cause he knew Kratos killed the Greek Gods
Odin more than likely has compared himself to Zeus and believes that if Kratos killed Zeus then he can kill him too IF Kratos loses control.
Another dev was also asked if Old Kratos is stronger and he said that Old Kratos gets his strength from the fact that he has a child to protect
This confirms that the reason Old Kratos would win comes down to motivation.
This statement was supposed to be a follow up to what Cory said.
Everything in the games narrative basically tells you that GoW3 Kratos would kill the Norse Gods(although Odin wouldnt go down easy at all).Thats what they are saying to you
To say that the Norse Gods are far superior to the Greeks and that Current Kratos has gone far past GoW3 Kratos is completely dishonest and extremely unintellectual.
You need to be biased and or stupid,or to have flat out not known anything about the games.
Saying that Old Kratos easily stomps GoW3 Kratos when he constantly has issues with lesser opponents is dumb.
How is he gonna easily beat his younger self when Thor always gave him a good fight?
It IS possible he has some hidden strength he hasnt shown, but the problem is even his strongest moments in Ragnarok are at best equal to his younger prime going by the narrative.
Kratos isnt written to be far weaker yes,but he isnt written to be much stronger either.
He is written to still have that old power inside him but he holds it locked away
Another statement from the artbook also says "Kratos is still a formitable warrior but he restricts himself"
Where does it say he is much stronger? It basically says what I am saying

When Mimir discover that Kratos is Zeus son he says "This explains a lot", meaning Zeus is particularly know among the Pantheons to be very powerful

Zeus is weaker than baldur? The Brady guide literally states Zeus is getting stronger in there fight and why was not that featured here? Along with the fact he has been empowered or possessed by the concept of fear? He fought a bloodlusted kratos that has all the hax like the primordial flame and all of it can empower said user? Along with hades claws having atlas’s soul? And many more Greek lore has to offer?
The blades of chaos houses the power of the primordial chaos so yeah, it’s far more stronger and to say that the Norse can do as well what the Greeks does is just disingenuous as Odin can’t even do it in there fight.
Even the difference between gods is different, the Greek gods are connected to reality and when they die, a part of said reality goes with them, even this was more evident in the fact that Zeus eyes are that of the sky, solidifying his own omniscience.
Man calling Greek misinterpretations, headcanon, wog statements and saying all of them are debunkable is just funny to be honest when even Norse relies as well on this statement and also Greek statements doesn’t just come from Bruno Velasquez and you even pulled up Cecil Kim and completely disregarded it and from other people that worked in the god of war before like Ariel Lawrence along with there websites like lost world of which explains more of the primordials and the novels with Gaia even saying time is meaningless to them and she is right as she could even into the past, present and future which can give him as well manipulation of it.

In Ragnarok this was addressed in conversations between Kratos', Mimir, Freya and Atreus.
Kratos told Mimir and Freya that he lost much of his power when the Greek Pantheon was destroyed. When he left his homeland, much of his conditional immortality and powers he attained were left behind when the Gods died and there was no one left to worship (which is how God's get stronger). Freya even deduced that he was once a God but lost most of them when he left his homeland.
Kratos told Atreus he was weakened and they must continue the journey while he still has strength. The only thing about Kratos' that retained power were the Blades of Chaos. That's because they were made from primordial elements that span all of the planet. Therefore, it will retain its power no matter where it's taken.
The fact that Kratos is aging quickly, is a sign that he is weakening. Zeus was eons of years old but was still physically in his prime despite his white hair and aged skin. It took him eons to look like an older man. In Ragnorak, Kratos' looks older and is more sluggish, just as a middle aged mortal man would be. It's safe to say that Kratos is not at God status anymore. He is once again a Demi God.. which is basically what he was before he killed Ares.
Kratos can compete with the Norse Gods and hold his own because everyone except Odin, is also a Demi God, so they didn't really outclass Kratos'. Where as all of the Olympians were Gods.. In fact, in Ragnarok, Kratos' is stronger than the Norse Demi Gods but not more powerful than Odin. This is why he needed assistance to kill Odin.

Young kratos takes the win here, due to his vastly superior hax and equipment, and physical amps would make him stronger.
Not only did Old Kratos lose all of the Op equipment and hax he had from Greece( minus the blades of chaos) its stated he’s lost muscle mass. And he implied he’s gotten weaker with the bed time story he gave to Atreus. He is also said to be a shell of his former self.
Kratos himself said that he has killed greater gods than Heimdall. And You can get Heimdall above Baldur and somewhat to Thor.
The arguments some people may use to say Norse > Greek gods are bad.
“Baldur was said to be the strongest Kratos has ever faced”.
This is Incorrect Due To MisJudgement, Here are the most relevant Instances
    1. It said kratos strength was insufficient to put Baldur down. This is reference to Baldur being cursed with invulnerability. But when Baldur loses it Kratos beats him.
    2. Power of Fear Zeus light bolt literally one shotted all of GOW3 Kratos equipment. Equipment far stronger than the blades of chaos which is at least relative to Mjolnir( it is superior). Baldur’s feats in his fight with Kratos don’t compare to what Zeus did.
    3. It references Baldur as a mortal Kratos does not know he is a god yet. So the statement isn’t comparing Baldur to Greek gods rather the mortals Kratos has fought.
    4. Odin who physically is shown on par with Thor is stated to be physically inferior to Zeus media.discordapp.net/attachments/1026169973934141534/1191558311120748544/IMG_5684.png?ex=65a5e027&is=65936b27&hm=2a97127aa6816d46887e6c595d67273ec1cd29624ea955f52bb039c614222039&.
Why would Baldur be > Zeus if he is inferior to Odin ?
Odin being stated to be the most formidable enemy Kratos faced is in reference to him being a master manipulator.
"Kratos said that Thor's Blows were the strongest he had ever taken."
Well, Thor’s blows being as heavy as any Kratos has felt is in reference to the weight of Mjolnir. And Mjolnir again is GOW1 level if you want to say its equal to the blades of chaos( which is stated to be superior).

Why do I feel like this video was made not only to explain who is stronger, but also the fact is the creator of God of war, like the original creator did not like the direction Kratos was going in. It got a lot of people mad, no angry serious all of the three at once because people were happy that Kratos is changing he’s he’s growing he’s learning he’s learning to be a better father. He’s learning to be a better mentor of a better friend, and he’s trying his best not to give into his violent tendencies. and the creator had the audacity to say Kratos having a son is weak. Wow yeah I’m gonna be honest I’m not god of war, expert or anything like that or the above but I know that if your character remains the same as just gonna get stale, and seeing Kratos grow as a character as a father, as a friend is a nice change of pace, he’s not weak. He’s mature and him learning from his mistakes and growing makes him much stronger and better. I don’t know what’s going on with the original creator but yes, I have to appreciate that. He is the guy who started God of war I won’t forget that but there’s a time in place where you really need to realize your character is growing. If I recall correctly, Novels of God of War are stated to be secondary canon until the game either backs it up or contradicts it so the idea that Kratos "had never encountered something that potent" and "forced had control over her were far more powerful than any he had experienced before" is strongly contradicted with Mimir telling Kratos that his tales in Greece were exaggerated and being amazed that Greek Gods held "every flavor of magic you can imagine", I like how you call out people bringing out Freya's statements that Norns aren't as versatile as their Greek Counterpart and completely leave out Mimir calling Kratos' tales exaggerated which holds more weight than you think if you look at the context.
Please note that Cory Balrog would have had to approve these lines that strongly contradict the novel and him saying Norse Kratos is stronger and with every directors taking over, any new director can choose to contradict previous opinions of Directors, if you're going to use the logic that Norse Kratos wins and Norse Gods win against Greek Kratos and Greek Gods because of what Cory said, I can say the exact same thing favoring Greeks with Eric stating that Kratos isn't as strong as he used to be.
Although I can get by Tyr being the most formidable he has ever fought, with context that Tyr isn't just knowledgeable with Norse magic but Magic from Different Pantheons.
To solidify, Mimir also said that if Odin had The Sisters of Fate's power, they'd be more fucked, this alone strongly suggest Greek superiority. Good job ignoring that too.

I am not sure why people put importance on the story that Kratos tells Atreus. This story is actually a version of one of Aesop's fables, specifically "The Old Man and Death". This make sense as Aesop was a renowned Ancient Greek story teller, and was a figure that Kratos would have been familiar with. The moral of the story is "be careful what you wish for" and I think Kratos sees several parallels in himself but it isn't in reference to his physical strength. Rather, the burdens are his past actions/misdeeds. It is even applicable to his past self. The first game starts off with Kratos attempting to commit suicide, all because he is desperate to get rid of the pain and guilt of having killed his own family. Fun fact, in GoW 2018, Kratos told another one of Aesop's fables. Poorly.

And he is the strongest god in Norse? The god that people keep yapping about being able to defeat Zeus along with his brothers? Much less the titans, champions, and the primordials? This guy?
Seriously his only saving grace is Bruno’s statement about him equal to Poseidon and it’s just sad ahahahhahahahha, the very person the guy in the video is talking about being an unreliable narrator ahahahahahaahah of the irony.
People like to hype up the giants as more strong than titans when in reality, the giants are nothing like the titans, they are literally saints compared to the titans and are not even reality benders and people think Thor killing them is a great feat is just facking hilarious ahahhaahhahahaha.
If the titans were in the Norse giants place, they would not take this lying down and even storm Asgard and destroy it, and splatter the gumbo drunker into the ground and beat his deadbeat father’s ass to kingdom come as majority of them are literally reality warping warlords and conquerors, even Gaia as well and that woman is the primordial god of life.

Ok sure, If I recall correctly, Novels of God of War are stated to be secondary canon until the game either backs it up or contradicts it so the idea that Kratos "had never encountered something that potent" and "forced had control over her were far more powerful than any he had experienced before" is strongly contradicted with Mimir telling Kratos that his tales in Greece were exaggerated and being amazed that Greek Gods held "every flavor of magic you can imagine", I like how you call out people bringing out Freya's statements that Norns aren't as versatile as their Greek Counterpart and completely leave out Mimir calling Kratos' tales exaggerated which holds more weight than you think if you look at the context.
Note that Cory Balrog would have had to approve these lines that strongly contradict the novel and him saying Norse Kratos is stronger and with every directors taking over, any new director can choose to contradict previous opinions of Directors, if you're going to use the logic that Norse Kratos wins and Norse Gods win against Greek Kratos and Greek Gods because of what Cory said, I can say the exact same thing favoring Greeks with Eric stating that Kratos isn't as strong as he used to be.

@CostmioLabos "Mimir doesn’t contradict those statements at all. Those statements aren’t even related bro. Mimir saying his tales are “exaggerated” does not automatically mean that the Greeks are stronger."
      - How are the statements not related? Please care to elaborate, what part of "Exaggerated" when decribing Kratos' tales in Greece despite being in an apparently "stronger" universe do you not understand?
"You said that goji left out the “exaggeration” but also left out when kratos said “impossible” when mimir said that Thor is fated to hit jorm so hard that he goes back in time."
      - Ahh are you perhaps referring to this? czcams.com/video/UEXIGuPtWbg/video.html Where Kratos says "This is Madness" Do be careful with your choice of words when Kratos says "THIS IS MADNESS" Madness isn't synonym with Impossible, just putting that out there.
"A bit of double standard Greek glazing going on here. Mimir talking about the variety of Greek powers doesn’t mean that they are automatically stronger. For example, Hermes’ speed would be useless against heimdall and hades’ soul steal wouldn’t work against Baldur or garm."
      - Ahh you seem to forget that it is usually an unwritten rule in media that having versatility equals more powerful especially within the realms of magic we're talking about, take into consideration that Mimir is the wisest of the 9 realms but even then stories he has heard of The Greek Gods still captivated him, the idea that versatility can equal power in this specific context can be further backed up with Surtr who described Kratos' Greek blades as "Primordial" And Kratos telling Mimir when talking about Heimdall "I have killed Gods greater than him"
"Eric never said that Norse kratos was weaker, he said that he’s “getting back into it” you’re reaching so far with this one. Yes, if you give any character the SOF’s time manipulation powers, that would be a huge boost."
      - What do you want Eric to say? That he is straight up weaker then, to pull the bandage off, yeah that's bad business my guy. Eric has stated that Kratos was hella rusty when fighting Baldur, which debunks the "His power seems greater than anything I've ever seen"
"But it doesn’t even matter that much since in the novels, kratos was stated to resist the manipulation through sheer will, keeping in mind that this is the same kratos who is stated to be inferior to Norse kratos and Norse kratos being the one who is around equal to Thor and downright lost to Odin and had to jump him."
      - You call me out on leaving out certain words to favor the Greeks yet you left out the part where I said the Novel is secondary canon until contradicted by the game which is the main canon, make it make sense.
"Bro is so mad at the video he’s copy pasted the same comment to everyone in the comments who says Norse > Greek 💀"
      - Everyone? Get your eyes checked dude.

@CostmioLabos "Mimir saying that the tales are “exaggerated” doesn’t mean what you think it means as the tale he was talking about was the sisters of fate. In the novels it states that a GOW 2 kratos was able to resist the time manipulation powers of the SOF through sheer force of will. If this version of kratos can resist it, imagine what thor or Odin could do if they were put in the same scenario. Now if you try and convince me that a GOW 2 kratos who isn’t even peak Greek kratos can beat Thor or Odin who scale higher than him, I don’t know what to say considering kratos BARELY defeated Thor while Thor was poisoned and downright lost to Odin and needed to jump him then idk what to say."
      - Does it matter even if he was just talking about the Sisters of Fate? It was still enough to captivate Mimir and even Freya, you know? The very same people who are supposed to be "Stronger" Again, Novels are secondary canon until contradicted by the game, this was confirmed when Kratos talked about The Sisters of Fate "threatening to undo my existence"
"Bro what does it matter that “he actually says madness” 🤓☝ kratos still doesn’t think it’s true. My point still stands you didn’t even try and argue against it just went 🤓☝. Please name a better strength feat in GOW than the jorm feat I wanna know what you think 🤣 kratos thinks it’s madness even after experiencing the powers of the sisters of fate, Zeus’ fear form etc, so the “mimir is shocked at the SOF’s powers” argument you keep making is kinda pointless here as the Thor feat scales higher anyway and even kratos thinks it’s “madness” 🤓☝ even after experiencing all of the Greek powers."
      - Madness doesn't equal Impossible, how Dense can you possibly be? Kratos doesn't think it's true? How does that make sense when he himself traveled through time, you seem to forget when Kratos talked about time travel Mimir had to even ask "You're not speaking Metaphorically are you?" further implying that Greek's Time Travel is way better than Norse. If Kratos didn't think it's true, why would Mimir the very guy who even brought that topic up to him when talking about Greek Time Travel vs Norse Travel say that Thor hitting World Serpent back in time make more sense than Kratos journeying through time to win a battle once lost, Kratos saying IMPOSSIBLE makes no sense in context, stop twisting words and equating words with a definition that doesn't match, Madness does not equal impossible, I don't know why you think that. You talk about me twisting Eric's words when you're the one doing the same thing? Equating Madness with Impossible?
"What does surtr talking about the primordial fire in the blades have to do with the Greeks being stronger? There are primordials in both of the pantheons bud. Wow there are Greek gods that are stronger than heimdall, Interesting, it also says that Odin is the most formidable foe kratos has ever faced in the pre release for ragnarok, who woulda thunk since kratos needed help to beat him right? There are more statements that say Norse > Greek."
      - It has alot to do with Greeks being stronger or at minimum have what Norse people don't have, If Norse>Greeks why couldn't he just use "Superior" Magic to jump start Ragnarok, why did he need Blades of Chaos, you seem to be so confident to scoff at how powerful Greeks, did you forget that in game Freya states that in Helheim no heat exists (meaning the realm completely nullifies the concept of heat not that it just isn’t there) and no magic in all the 9 realms yet the Blades Of Chaos could light a fire there and that's not even the strongest Greek weapon in the GOW mythos.
"Bro what unwritten rule are you talking about? You’re just making that up. I love how you didn’t even try and convince me Hermes could beat heimdall or hades could beat garm because you know they’d lose. That’s exactly my point in that just because you have more powers doesn’t mean that they make you stronger. Kratos is a prime example in this as his only powers are super strength and super anger and he steam rolls most of the gods he comes across."
      - This is the guy that thinks Madness equals impossible... Ironic, why would I have to say anything about Hermes beating Heimdall or Hades beating garm, that's not even an important topic, you're the one that made a choice to bring those two gods up, whether or not they would win in a 1v1 fight who knows and I know they'd lose? Oh so you're twisting my words even though I never specifically brought them up... Fantastic! Ok then it's fair for me to bring up Bruno Valezques saying Zeus owns Baldur, is comparable to Odin and Thor is comparable to Poseidon's hippocampi.
"Yes kratos was rusty when he fought Baldur bro, how long has it been since GOW 3 ended and he’s lived his life in relative peace? Just because he’s rusty doesn’t mean that he’s not stronger? You tried getting away with saying “Eric said he’s weaker now” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 he literally said “getting back into it” bro you’re not fooling anyone but yourself. You still haven’t proved that he’s weaker now other than trying to change the devs statements to match your personal view. "
      - Just because he is rusty doesn't mean he is not stronger? Great! tell your rusty Grandpa to do the exact same things he did in his prime or in his youth, I am suuure he'd love to do it! Do you know what Rusty means? you're telling me I am twisting Eric's words, do you know the definition of rusty? It means Kratos was impaired which also means weakened, the fuck you mean?
"How does the novel contradict the game here? You haven’t even explained your point."
      - Kratos in the novel has stated that Baldur "seemed stronger" This was then retconned with Eric saying he was rusty during his fight with Baldur, ironically the same Novel even states that Kratos would have ripped him apart in his spartan days. That's a good example for starters, the novel has also stated that Kratos "HAD NEVER SEEN A MAGIC THIS POTENT BEFORE" This was then retconned in the game itself having Mimir and Freya captivated that such "Magic" In Greece existed and Freya even referring to what Kratos did against Sisters of Fate "Most Dangerous" This is supposed to be the Goddess of Magic, just letting you know.
"Go on bro keep copy pasting the same comment. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣"
      - Yeah you need to get your eyes checked 🤷‍♂

@CostmioLabos "I never said that mimir and Freya were stronger than the Greeks, I for one think Freya is pretty weak on the grand scale of things. Doesn’t change the fact that you still haven’t debunked the point I just made, just said “well Freya and mimir are shocked”. "
Uhm, Mimir states that Freya is the deadliest opponent Odin has ever faced at one point and only won because he tricked her.
"Bro kratos isn’t saying time travel is impossible"
      - Of course he didn't he said "Madness" a definition far different from Impossible, thansk for confirming that
"he’s saying that it’s madness that Thor hit jormungandr so hard that he splintered the yggdrasil and sent him back in time. The sisters of fates powers are set in stone, they can erase you from existence that’s what they do."
      - Yes I agree he did describe it as Madness, but a while ago you said that Kratos said it was impossible, going back on your word, I see.
"Thor has insane strength and just broke reality by hitting a giant snake that hard. This is why kratos is shocked. You keep saying that “mimir and Freya are shocked” and you even tried to say “kratos says madness instead” however you want to put it, kratos is still shocked that someone can put out this much strength in one strike because guess what, he’s never seen anyone use that much strength before in a single attack."
      - At no point did I invalidate Thor's strength, this whole topic is about you telling me that Kratos described it as Impossible, I did not invalidate him being shocked or even captivated by it, I called you out for twisting the words to make them sound like they're the same definition which is a big mistake at your part. I like how when I brought up Mimir and Freya being captivated by Greek Magic, you do whatever you can to debunk, yet here you are doing the exact same thing I did, except on the Norse part.
"Also want to put out that saying ‘’madness” can also be interpreted as being “untrue” or “exaggerated”. Saying “Greek time travel is better” like ok 🤣 GOW 2 kratos scales above the sisters and he scales below the Norse. I’ve said this like 60 times and you keep ignoring it. I literally admitted that he said “madness”, it doesn’t change the fact that kratos doesn’t think it’s possible to HIT SOMETHING THAT HARD instead of using time hax to do it. I don’t think you understand what I’m saying when I say that kratos doesn’t believe that it’s POSSIBLE to have the AP to break reality. Therefore the Thor feat still is the best strength feat unless you can name one." "
      - You want to put that saying Madness can be interpreted as Untrue? Ok let's look at the Definition of Madness and compare it to Impossible and which was the original word you kept telling me about and to add, let's also compare it to Exaggerated.
      Madness
      - The state of being Mentally ill
      - Foolish behavior
      - Frenzied or Chaotic Activity
      - Impulsive Behavior
      Impossible
      - Not able to occur
      - very difficult to deal with (although this should be labeled as near impossible)
      - unreasonable
      Exaggerated
      - Regarded or represented as larger, better or worse in reality
      - Blown out of Proportions
You see how far "Madness" is from "Impossible" and "Exaggerated" You talk to me about twisting words from Eric, you were doing it first? 🤷‍♀
"Bros just avoiding the whole topic 🤣🤣🤣 “why would I have to answer” bro you know they’d lose that’s why. “That’s not an important topic” you literally just said that the Greeks are more powerful because they have a variety of power and I just disproved that by saying it means nothing against most Norse gods.
      - That's because I was speaking in general term of power level, also it is in your headcanon and statement that Garm or Heimdall beats Hades or Hermes, there is no official confirmation that the Garm and Heimdall beat the two of them of course I will not bring up individual gods over one another because the only closest 1v1 confirmation on who would win is Zeus vs Baldur, Thor and Odin and Thor vs Poseidon.
Your reason Heimdall beats Hermes is because of... Primarily foresight? Kratos who actually was able to hit him was because he is infinite in Speed, so is Hermes, there is no reason to say he won't be able to do the same thing, with Kratos saying "I have killed Gods greater than him" Hermes plays an important role even in the Greek Saga in GOW, it's reasonable to say that he is also referring to Hermes when saying this.
With Baldur being invulnerable, it depends really to what extent he is invulnerable to, for certain any magic or weapon from Norse won't kill him except mistletoe and to an extent even The Blade of Chaos, but the Blade of Chaos isn't even the strongest weapon in the game, on debating terms it would be No limits fallacy, it would be like me saying Zeus can just remove Baldur's immortality, because he did similar to Prometheus making him mortal and curse him to get eaten by a bird everyday.
Hades Vs Garm, I won't say anything about this, with lack of further information on Fenrir
"Don’t avoid the question bro go on. Also Bruno did say not to take his word on anything and he also said the Yggdrasil wasn’t infinite which is just blatantly wrong. Again, in the video. If you want to believe anything believe word of god statements from Cory. He said Thor could beat Poseidons hippocampi before the game came out so he didn’t want to spoil… are you actually gonna try and convince me that Thor isn’t AT LEAST comparable to Poseidon? Even if you wanna believe everything Bruno says, he says that Odin is comparable to Zeus in your own words. Meaning Zeus vs Odin is at least a 50/50. And we all saw how Odin needed to get 3 v 1d."
      - Oh, Bruno did not say to take his word on anything? Well that's a bummer I only brought that up because you brought up 1v1 between Gods which wasn't even the point of the conversation, fair play dude, using your logic why should your words be taken on anything? And why should we forever take the words of every single director in God of War when directors keep changing different opinions?
"Bro really just brought up the grandpa analogy even though he knows gods don’t get “old” or “weaker”."
      - Hey man, not my fault you don't know shit about the definition of rusty so I had to bring that up to you.
"You want to believe Bruno Velasquez so much you should know he tweeted about how gods don’t get weaker with age and “kratos is the same kratos no matter what age he is”, he also said Zeus’ prime was GOW 3 as being older doesn’t mean weaker, lmao bros clutching at straws. If you know of this information then you should know that at the very least, kratos is as strong as his gow 3 self if not more considering how long it’s been since then considering gods get stronger with age. Yes he was rusty at the start of 2018 but he warms up bro like have you played the game?" "
      - I never said he was weaker in Ragnarok I said he was weaker during his initial fight with Baldur, the fuck are you smoking?
"Eric’s statement does not contradict that at all bro. The novel says that Baldur is his strongest opponent yet, no matter that he’s rusty as kratos himself has gotten stronger over the years (you already know this if you love Bruno so much). Just because you’re rusty doesn’t mean you can’t accurately judge someone’s strength" 🤣
      - The Novel also said Kratos would have ripped him apart in his younger days and again SECONDARY CANON, do you know who is responsible for that "Power seemed greater than anything he has ever seen" FREYA, you know the Goddess who you say is very weak in the grand scheme of things? and even she was genuinely shook at the type of power Greek mythos posses. and even if we are to take the Novels seriously, Keyword: Seemed.
"Kratos literally says it’s the most potent magic he’s ever seen. End of discussion. You keep bringing up how mimir and Freya were shocked at the SOF like I haven’t debunked that like twice, Odin scales higher than GOW 2 kratos therefore higher than SOF bro just accept it."
      - Is it stated anywhere in the Game, main canon BTW that he had said that, if he did I will accept it, because all you bring to me is the Novel which is secondary canon btw, I kept bringing up Freya and Mimir being captivated because those are legitimate deities of their respective Pantheons, Freya being captivated despite being the Goddess of Magic is nothing to be scoffed at.
"Also have you never heard of someone saying “madness” in response to something that they don’t think is true? It’s more of a slang type of phrase for it tbh."
      - Context: Mimir brought up again Thor knocking the world Serpent back in time as "one thing" When comparing Sisters of Fate which he believes in definition, BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION, yeah I am pretty sure when Kratos described it as madness, I doubt he would think it impossible.
You're telling me I love Bruno so much, LOL I only brought him up once, compared to your lame ass obsession with the Secondary Novel.

-There is a ton of stuff I disagree with, one thing is that Norse Kratos should equal to Greek Kratos when he traded blows with Zeus because he never got any stronger after his fight with Zeus. It is clearly implied in the GOW 2018 novel that the Blades of Chaos are vastly superior to the Leviathan Axe because when Freya said that the Leviathan Axe would be useless when it came to facing the dead in Helheim and that he needed a more powerful weapon, Kratos realized he would have needed the Blades of Chaos to accomplish that. The question that asked Corly Barlog about whether Norse Kratos or Greek Kratos is stronger, the Greek Kratos they were likely referring to is when he was the god of war before he transferred all his godly strength into the Blade of Olympus in GOW2. As for speed, the speed of Helios' light is immeasurable because it was stated that he lit up the entire Underworld which is said to be infinite in size and Hermes was shown in GOW3 to be able to dodge Helios light which was said by the developers to be an intentional feat and because Zeus is shown be significantly faster than Hermes in the GOW2 novelization, Greek Kratos should be faster than Hermes in terms of the speed of his attacks as he fought on par with Zeus.
Although Thor was able to one shot Kratos, who is immortal, that should never be considered a strength feat, instead it is more of a special ability. The codex description of Thor referred to his attacks as being described as being as heavy as anything that Kratos had felt, this is referring to opponents he fought on par with because he said “as heavy as any attack I have felt”, this should put Thor on par with Hercules and Zeus as they were strongest opponents he fought on par with at his peak before achieving Power of Hope.
That statement by Kratos about Baldur's power being more powerful than anything he had faced and that his full strength would be insufficent is SEEMINGLY contradicted when Kratos starts to pummel and ragdoll Baldur in his fight with him when he stops holding back his rage to protect his son. What the statement meant was the curse that Freya had placed on Baldur is more potent than the magic in the Greek world. Also in that same novel, when Atreus and Kratos were in Helheim, they saw a phantom Kratos who was described as being more muscular and younger which shows that Greek Kratos is stronger than Norse Kratos when he is holding back. Lastly, the statement referring to Odin's magic being far more potent than anything he had seen is referring to Odin's curses he placed on certain characters like Freya or Mimir. I don't mean that the Norse pantheon is far weaker than the Greek pantheon, the Norse pantheon is undeniably formidable, as the scaling so far is pretty much this below:
Zeus = Greek Kratos (at his peak before utilizing power of Hope) = Norse Kratos (when going all out) >= Odin >= Thor >= Tyr = Niddhog >= Freya >>> Yggdrasil roots >>> Yggdrasil strand = 5 dimensional space
Note: Odin is placed as being slightly inferior to Norse Kratos because he felt fear after Norse Kratos threatened to stop holding back his strength if he didn't return his son.

GoW3 Kratos is definitely stronger than GoW4 and GoWR Kratos. For one, Kratos literally lost all of his abilities and hax at the end of GoW3 and Kratos himself said that he lost all of his magical abilities. Also, people like to throw around the “Greek gods get stronger as they age” argument even though it was never stated and we can’t quantify how much stronger they get over time. There’s also multiple sources that state that Kratos was rusty at the beginning of GoW4. If Kratos was just constantly amassing power over time, he wouldn’t have had a problem with Baldur. GoW4 and GoWR Kratos would be above base GoW1 or beginning of GoW2 Kratos at best.

I am pretty sure most people believe Kratos would win in his Greek era due to his Blade of Olympus and death defying feats and his arsenal. Since he has the blades of Hade's for one which allows him to summon the souls of all those he takes(Which would be interesting if he could bring forth Hades' soul and force him to fight on his behalf), The cestus of Heracles which I believe increases his power by 10 times, and his spartan/titan rage. Then you have people who think he lost a massive magin of his power when he gave up the power of hope along with trying to kill himself. Hope being a whole different power being enough to overpower Fear Zeus' soul when it was powerful enough to kill Kratos and strip him of all his weapons and revive Kratos from the brink of death. Then you have the fact that the Blade of Olympus should be an extremely powerful weapon in the end of 3 since at the beginning of GoW2 he drains all of his Godly power into the blade increasing its power even more. Then you add on all the power he had gained in his rampage through Olympus placing him wielding it at the scale of 2 Kratos(1 being His power from GOW1 and then his base power in 3) Whether the addition of his godhood into the blade drastically affected the actual blade's power or not is a point to bring up however but still. GoW 5 Kratos should still be more powerful due to the different scaling and Author statement as well. But the better arguement is How difficult would it be for GoW5 to face the aggression of GoW3 Kratos being able to fight far more aggressive, faster, and with less care for damage as his older self. Also knowing that he can't really kill himself for good since he would return again like always. I think with his aggression, Blade of Olympus, and full Power access to Hope if he does get to death's door he would put up a much better fight than you may think. Still would likely lose to him but feats arent everything when it comes to a fight since how they fight does matter for a lot of things.

Think there was a boat story where kratos admits he feels weaker or is just weaker since no one was worshiping him in GOW4. But he’s supposed to be at his strongest because Greek gods get more powerful as they age. And he went from fighting giant monsters in the opening to fighting gods in the opening (Except for GOW3 but he had the blade of Olympus). And spartan rage is just his raw strength with no help when no longer holding back. Could be he’s been drained overtime but also gained strength due to age and will gain more if he takes odin’s place and be worshipped again. Maybe it’s just that he doesn’t feel as energetic now but will later if he continues as a new Norse god
We also never really see Thor at his peak since he wasn’t actually trying to kill kratos in round one but in the rematch he was drunk. Hell we never even see Greek kratos at his peak since he lost his godly power but not the title. And if he never got back to his godly status then what does that mean for the Norse gods? Are they just the same level as demigods in Greece?
And even the old man story with death doesn’t make much sense if he asks death to help him when kratos doesn’t want to “deliver” anymore

Brok only hyped up the blades was because it was made of primordial fire, that’s literally it. Brok and sindri made the leviathan axe by capturing the souls of 20 frost trolls and in the description it says Mjölnir echoes with death and destruction with every blow so theoretically he would get just as hyped if the axe had primordial frost or the spear having primordial wind

The former is mainly due to the fact the way the current games display feats is different from the originals. The originals monkeyed with physics to make feats seem more impressive and entertaining while the current games take a more grounded approach to feats displayed which I think is better honestly because it maintains the presence of being beyond normal strength while also also being very gritty and real. Truth be told Kratos currently would deal with Kronos all the same if not easier, though he’d likely approach it differently.

This was shown when kratos fought the second chaos beast. He went from being incapable of even hurting it, with his attacks literally bouncing of it to oneshoting it. Not to mention, he got killed by thor with a strike from mjolnir while later on with the blades of chaos he no solds a full force strike to the face with no real damage. Thor even mentions how he was hoping to fight kratos with the blades of chaos at some point clearly implying he's stronger with them. I do concede that the norse gods have better scaling though.

But when you bring up the norse feats' and Kratos' thoughts from the novel/codex, which also have their own context and relativity, you misinterpret them to fit your own argument.
Everything is contextual, and Kratos was never actually that strong to begin with. He needed A LOT of help to defeat his Greek enemies. Now he's stronger than himself, but he also needs way less help to defeat his Norse enemies. Taking EVERYTHING into account, it makes the most sense that Norse Kratos is "stronger" than Greek Kratos, but the Greek Gods are "stronger" than the Norse Gods.
