It's amazing how they still plan on continuing the franchise
I can definitely say all 3 are my favorites. I was just born 14 days before the first one came out, 5 years old before part 2 and 15 when 3 came out. This is definitely one of those franchises that I hold dear to my heart. At 28, I understand each movie better than I did initially.

the great touches about sid is he has all those locks on his door cause his dad as shown drunk watching the buzz commercial, asleep is a sign he probably beats Sid, so thats why Sid has all those locks on his door, he's resourceful enough for that. So the reason he messed with toys is because his father is abusive to him.

I used to watch this movie all the time as a kid without ever getting bored, the sequels only get better
I'll never forget seeing this for the first time, everyone fell in love with it! Very much looking forward to 2 and 3 if you end up doing those!
In an earlier version of the movie, Woody did throw Buzz out of the window on purpose (instead of by accident as in the finished film) as he was so jealous of him. The other toys confronted him and stood up to him and finally they grab him and was gonna throw off the bed, but then Slinky suggest they throw him out of the window but they're stopped because of Andy coming. This was known as The Black Friday Reel and former Disney Animation head Jeffery Katzenberg (who left Disney when Michael Eisner refused to let him take over Frank Wells role as president of The Walt Disney Company and founded DreamWorks along with Steven Spielberg and David Giffin, which would be a main competetor of Disney in the early 2000's thanks to Shrek). thought the movie was too juvenile and whated it to be more edgy, which remade Woody into a rude, cynical and sarcastic jerk who insulted everybody, which made him unlikable. Disney found this new version apalling and wanted to fire all the animators that Pixar have hired and bring Pixar's story team to Disney's studio in Glendale, California to keep their eyes on them. John Lasseter and Co refused and begged them to give them two weeks to turn around, resulting in a much better product.
Great reaction! I'm gonna be 37 in December. I actually got to see Toy Story in theaters when it first came out in late 1995. Though I didn't see it until January 1996 at the earliest. The movie was so well received that it stayed in theaters longer than most movies were back then. My grandmother took my parents, my two siblings, and I to go see it as a late Christmas present, and I remember loving it. We got it on VHS for Christmas in 1996 and watched it so many times. I'm surprised we didn't wear the tape out. I own it on DVD and VHS now. P.S. I'm a brand new subscriber and I'm looking forward to the other movies you two plan to watch.
how long did it stay in theatres for?
@@Kenny-ep2nf Almost a year. It was released on home video eleven months after it started its theatrical run, and it was in theatres until about a month before it came out on video.

Rex's line about him coming from not really coming from a Matell but a smaller toy manufacture that was bought up by then in a leverage buyout is a reference for late Steve Jobs, the formed President of Apple, bought off the Pixar unit from Lucas Film (George Lucas had them making The Pixar computer in addition to digital film editing and sound editing tools EditDroid and SounDroid but he wasn't keen on having a company selling software and while interested in supporting them with doing CGI movies, he couldn't afford it at the time due to his divorce with his wife Marcia Lucas, and the whole research and development would have required millions of dollars) which made Pixar their own production company leading to them doing shorts like Luxo Jr., Red's Dream and Knick Knack (whose titles are referenced in the book titles behind Woody during the toys' meeting) in addition of doing commericals for orange juice and bubbelgums, and would eventually lead to Toy Story being created.

Thank you!!! This film was literally my childhood! I still have my Toy Story toys! I can’t wait for the rest of the franchise! I gotta recommend these other toy-related films: Small Soldiers and Jingle All The Way. Small Soldiers is about toy soldiers that come to life and bring war to the humans; Jungle All The Way is about a father who attempts to grant his son’s Christmas wish by getting the new super toy on the block.
