Glory days, well they'll pass you by
Glory days, in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days

I saw him in 81 at the Nassau Coliseum. The album could not have been out for more than two weeks. He played the first few chords of this song and the entire crowd started singing. Bruce just sat down on the edge of the stage and let us sing the first verse. It was freaking awesome.
Yea I have that live track
One of the greatest Springsteen songs ever
My father loved this song. He passed away in June last year. Today I was working on his house fixing it up for the first time since his passing. While playing music on my aux cord my car randomly switched to the radio station which has never happened before and the aux cord did not disconnect. I believe this was him giving me a sign to listen to this song and know that he’s there and proud of what I’m doing for my family.
Sorry for your loss, honey 🍯
Hugs
that was definitely a sign quincy. when weird stuff happens like that after a death and especially with something electronic or a wire of some kind sign is in front of your soul. you just got to put 2 and 2 together. I say this because I hear to many of stories that can't be explained like yours and always a year or less after a passing. get that house project done sir and thanks for posting your story
I love your story.. ❤️.
I'm a father too......and got four daughters..
This song is LEGENDARY.
i am now convinced that we were living in THE TWILIGHT ZONE during the 80's thats why it was so special with the music
The best
When I was a teenager in France.❤à little girl française !
My daughters favourite Bruce Springsteen song. She was 11 years old and we played it at her funeral. Taken from us far too soon. We love you Angel, keep singing and dancing in heaven xxx
My condolences. She is in a much better place now.
@@NitishSinghchin2 Thank you, I just wish she was here with me. It’s very hard to believe she is in a better place if we don’t know where she is? I’m not a religious person, but I do believe our soul goes somewhere else. Xx
It's an unimaginable loss. But, as my mother always says - Time is the best healer. Stay strong. Stay positive. Better times are yet to come.
@@NitishSinghchin2 it’s very hard to see there will ever be better times ahead, maybe easier but never better than when my daughter was alive. She was also my best friend and we did everything together
Sorry that you lost your daughter. Glad that you could play that song for her and that you had a relationship with her that you knew that...
My husband died in July last year, far too early, we loved signing this song together, especially when we drove into Baltimore and this came on the radio. Sadness and joy with this song.
Sorry for your loss.

Jeez, middle age’ll decimate ya. 😔

I think this is his best vocal performance.
I agree:-)
There's nothing better than a Bruce Springsteen song.
Except, lots of other songs, LOL.
This song is freakin' PERFECT! The music still lives....
Richard Hungry Heart is Bruce's best vocal performance
Love this song. If you graduate hs in the 80’s you lived
The first time that I saw Bruce in concert, he started Hungry Heart and the crowd sang the entire song and Bruce let it happen just strumming his guitar!
Every time I hear this song it makes me think of Clarence Clemmons. What a tremendous loss we suffered when he passed. R.I.P Mr. Clemmons.
He was the best.
If you’re still listening to this in 2022 you’re a legend!

They don’t make music like this anymore. I’m no old head it’s just a fact.
this song is so good that it doesnt have a "most replayed" spot. meaning everyone who is listening to this listens to the entire song! Great song and Love to everyone.
Multiple replays too.
@Oswaldo Zuniga Actually, I ALWAYS replay that first drum riff and instruments rolling in, and then Bruce's "Yah!!" a few times over every time i listen. It's the perfect open. You can see the spike at the very start.
His best vocal performance
Same. That riff just comes in like an avalanche, closely followed by Bruce's "Yeah". Best opener to a song ever.
Una y otra vez... 😂
Since I heard this song from Warm Bodies, it became one of my favourite feel good songs. ❤️

I don't think that it was meant to be a feel-good song. If you listen to the words, the guy in the song is a very unhappy, lonely and desperate person who lives with the shame and pain of having abandoned his wife and kids; and yet wont go back home to reconcile with them, and instead goes to bars to drink and meet women for yet more empty short term relationships as a way of escaping his feeling guilty.
This song was playing on my best friends radio when I found him in a fatal car accident way back in 1980. It still gives me chills to listen to it. He was just 17. RIP ol friend. GBNF

I think every Male will have that moment where he discovers the spirit of Bruce Springsteen. That one song that spoke to them and inspired them. For me it is this one 💜💜💜💜
Just got this on vinyl! It’s still in good condition after so many years.
I have never been married and its very lonely at times over the years. This song gives me comfort when I'm down to know that even those who are in relationships also get very lonely sometimes (misery loves company). This one and Bob Seegers We've got Tonight, "I know your plans don't include me, still here we are, both of us lonely", really resonates.
One of the best rock and roll songs ever written. Love the melody.
This brings back some memories from nearly 40 years ago. Timeless classic
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIME...I JUST HAVE TO DANCE AND SING ALONG WITH IT BECAUSE IT MOVES ME...
Éste disco marcó mi vida, siendo una adolescente, cuando lo escuché por primera vez en Cuba. 💖💖💖
This song made me cry on the way to work one day.
Bruce be like that sometimes
I don't know about you .."but I can understand why it made you cry .The song has a lot of home truths about it Springsteen has written a lot of beautiful songs and their some lets face it are average .But this song is NOT one of them .well thought out song .
I guess this song brings back a lot of good memories for you and sad one’s, sometimes a song just pops in my head and I have to listen to it 😭😁
It’s because I have a Hungry heart , so bad that I feel dead in the inside 💔loneliness is a real a$$ kicker
bite2eat I can understand why somewhat , have you ever repressed your emotions, I’ll learned that repressing your emotions is never healthy even for a male , it’s good to let it out sometimes after all you are human,we men are entitled to have emotions, please try to to find some happiness in this world because life is too short to live unhappy 👍🏾 remember to smile 😃
bite2eat I believe Society like to create monsters (meaning us men ) by telling us we’re not supposed to cry or feel pain think about when you was a little boy and how happy you were( you still had a full range of emotions) that is if you were happy when you were a boy ) remember ye are the salt of the earth and what good are you if you loose your saltiness
One of my favourites, heard this first in November 1981......loved it ever since ❤
She stills hold a place in my heart. I dreamed about her last night!

Think you could be right there Ricky
this came out in 1980. before he was murdered, john lennon told springsteen he liked the song.
Over the years, I've only liked a few or more of his songs, this being my favorite. Over thirty years ago, as a teenage boy, living in my mama and daddy's basement, this song forever struck a chord in my heart. Mainly, because of the first few opening lines, along with the beautiful music. This song has forever been a treasure piece in my heart and mind.

Great music, Great times!🤩💯🎼👣
I am retired military. I have 3 wonderful children who love me and now live with me (well 2, 1just graduated from OCS) IVE SORTA lived this song. Never seen the inside of a courtroom... We handled stuff like adults. Yes there were ruff times but OUR children are happy healthy and well adjusted. And reaching for the stars. No matter "our" problems... We always NEVER disagreed about our kids and we BOTH gave 110% to them in our own ways and NEVER made "OUR" failures about or involved them. She is a GREAT woman! And the BEST mother a child could ever ask for and want. And because of her my children still love me. And for the joy they have brought to my life now that they are now with me I will always be greatfull and in her debt.
Thank you for sharing your story and congratulatios to your kid for having finished officer candidate school. Just one question... but did you ever take the wrong turn?
