:No one but no one can ever perform this song like he does. I'm 78 yrs. old, have cancer and kidney failure etc. and even though I can't get up and dance to this song, I'm pretty good at dancing in my chair. lol He just lifts my spirit listening to him and watching him perform. I give thanks to you, Bruce, for making my day a little brighter.

Keep listening Sharyn ♥. Life is minute by minute. I have chronic pain and other illnesses. I try to set very small goals for myself and still have long term goals for the future. Easy does it. My aunt said, if u can't do it, it will be right there waiting for you.

Bittersweet song for me. My mom would drop whatever she was doing whenever this video came on and dance with Bruce. My mom passed away a month ago and this song will forever be a beautiful memory of her.
Update: Wow. So many likes! I really only posted this to share and vent a little bit. I really didn't think so many people would reply to and like my comment! You are all incredibly kind and thoughtful so thank you for that. May you all be blessed in this crazy time.
This song has so much energy no way one cant love it, im so very sorry for your loss but I'm sure your mom is dancing in Heaven to this wonderful song, god bless your mother🌹🙏

I met a Girl 25 Ago. 20 Years are we married now. Dancing in the Dark was our First Dance on the Wedding! Thank you Bruce that you have written all these Songs for us .

Amazing congratulations!
Almost impossible to believe, I was at that show in June 1984 at the St Paul Civic Center, Bruce played that song 3 times in a row to get all the footage needed, he was so apologetic and we just didn’t care! The crowd went wild when he pulled that girl on stage to dance, we didn’t know she was planted there or that 10 years later, she would become Monica on Friends. Now I watch this and I feel like I’m there again.
I loved reading this :)

The lyrics are really special.
"暗闇の中でのダンス"
私は夕方に起きます
そして、私は何も言うことはありません
朝家に帰ります
同じ気持ちで寝ます
疲れただけじゃない
男私はただ疲れていて、自分自身に退屈しています
Hey there baby
Hey baby

Like someone wrote before. This song is bittersweet for me. My mother’s favorite Springsteen song. 12 years ago, she was sick in the hospital and I went out to run an errand. When I turned on the fm radio of my car this song started to play. It was a beautiful morning, the sky was sparkling blue with a nice breeze and a few clouds, but the moment I heard the song, I don’t know how but I just knew she had passed away. A few seconds later my brother called me to say that I needed to return to the hospital. He didn’t want to say why but I knew. RIP mom I love and miss you. And thanks for your wonderful music taste. 😘

It's what got her noticed and led to her being in Friends
It's not real. It was staged for the video.
She's explained how it worked - there was a casting call for the role and she got picked due to being a bit gawky and just the right feel to the producers.
She was then planted and Bruce told who to pick.
Still a great video. But wasn't chance.
I didn’t realize it was staged until now. I thought it was just a coincidence she was picked.

When I was a little kid (born in 80), my parents listened to a lot of really great music. This album was regularly played. I'd walk home from school, and I'd always get really excited when I could hear music coming from my house before I'd even reached the door cos I knew that my Mom would be in there cleaning, singing, and dancing. As soon as I walked in the door, she'd grab me and spin me outta my backpack. I'd slide my tiny feet into a pair of her high heels, and she'd dance around the house with me as I'd sing into a pen that she had handed to me. It's definitely a core memory, and one I feel so blessed to have ❤ Life can be hard sometimes, but there are little memories we can all replay and rely on as we go through the hard bits.
❤😊

"I ain't nothing but tired, man I'm just tired and bored with myself". This song describes exactly how I've been feeling for the past few months.

In 1984 i was 14 years old, i believe those of us that grew up in the 80s are truly BLESSED!!!!!!! 9/5/2021... Who"s still listening?
Even though I'm not as old, this song earns a place in my heart
I'm 22 now, I'm madly in love with this song. I wish I had a chance to be born in 1980s. You people are really lucky.
9/10/21 definitely going to use this song at karaoke, but I think I’ll let Bruce keep his moves 🤣
🙋♂️
My wife was 15 and i was 18 we just started dating, we love those songs back then and still listening, now 9/14/21 been married for 32 years amd we still love this kind of music!
I'm here in August 2, 2022, this song is amazing. It brings back so many good memories when life was so much simpler and socal media wasn't even thought of yet. Man I'd do anything to go back in time to the 80's.
Yeah
Yeah
14 August 2022

Tell me about it…
Wo sind diese Männer heute nur??? Einfach großartig ❤
God bless we all, this is music, above perfection... awesome. Timeless..
Funny how a song can take your mind back to nearly 40 years ago with crystal clarity but you can't remember what you did last week. A great song and performance, it raises my spirits every time I listen.
I'm with you! He breaks the nostalgia mode a tad because he's still as good today as I remember him.
TO ROCK OUT WITH
I smelled wood smoke Friday and was instantly 13 and toasting marshmallows outside my grandparents’ RV. Memories are weird.
@@janiexoxo Sounds like a great memory.

You can't start a fire, you can't start a fire without a spark
Phil Foden's on fire, dancing through the middle of the park 🇧🇼🇧🇼
It's 2022 now and this song is still a masterpiece... And probably will be forever
⁰

I love this song

Spot on cobber ❤️
R.I.P. to his mom.
(May 4, 1925 - January 31, 2024)
My guess is his mom was proud of her son….
How blessed you are, she almost made it to 99. My beloved grandmother was 5/16/25 - 5/3/88. My mother died way younger.
I think this song is written about his mom’s fight with Alzheimer’s
@@Sangtranfishing this song was written forty years ago, it doesn't say anything on Wikipedia about it being written with his mother in mind.
❤
These music. Bring back so much good memory. it makes your heart feel love. ❤❤❤❤
Hello how are you doing? It's nice meeting you here
To see this with no phones is amazing to see! In fact that I get to see him live a week today.
Oh, how lucky you were to see this man perform music like this. Like I said, he brightens my day.
One of those songs that has got even better with age, the type of song you turn up full blasts when driving or just sat at home listening to it.
I must agree! There are very few songs that I consider my "driving out to the beach at night" songs, but this is definitely one of them!
Listen this song sang at the Norway the voice… that singer is a gem. You won’t regret it I bet my life…
So wie ich gerade👍❤️🎶
thats true
confirmed,Prosit:)
I dont know why I'm so obsessed with this video. I love the lyrics and his showmanship. There is such humility to this song. He's a national treasure.
Lindo vc maravilhoso
This video is a time capsule that contains exactly how the 80s felt.
I'm going with you 1,0000 💃🕺
Por los pasos que hace Bruce y al final baila con Monica.. A decir verdad todo fue actuado para qur Brian de palma haga esa grabación perfecta
