Velma do be looking fine tho

"Velma didn't say jinkies and she didn't lose her glasses" You had one job guys
What about Fred and his traps?

Facts
Chris Pine voicing Jack Frost was so awful. And The Lorax with Zac Effron and Taylor Swift? Save some of that money, and put it towards the writers.
I remember when the PPG movie was coming out the the girls went on strike to get their roles back
Omg YES voice actors exist FOR A REASON it’s their JOB
Dan de León Jack Frost played by Chris pine was awesome tho
“Velma is barely in it.” “Velma doesn’t say jinkies.”
Me: I will never watch this film.
She actually does say Jinkies in the movie
She's also latino for some reason
MinaMinas CTFTLKHTTYDFan99 yeah like once
@Zorunima They were all American
Velma is best girl. I feel robbed even though I’m never going to watch it.
I’m sorry. They didn’t solve a mystery? Throw it out
> making a Scooby Doo movie with no mystery
In what universe is that even consideredl to be a slightly smart move
There was a mystery that involved scooby do
at least they solved mysteries in the live action films
This isn't even a bruh moment anymore
This has ascended beyond a bruh moment. It is now
*boi moment.*
Mistakes:
Shaggy didn't sound like he was high on weed
Fred was dumb when he's actually quite smart
Velma didn't say jinkies
Velma didn't lose her glasses
Dafne didn't do anything oh wait
That's normal
Fred didn’t set a trap.
hacking the day they fixed that in a lot of the newer series. Her feeling useless is a big portion of her character in Mystery Inc.
@@AverageEggmonEnthusiast do you mean in the new series idt there were more scooby doo after mystery inc but ok and in the one in cn rn he is pretty useless
So scoob is basically the remake?
It's annoying when they don't even cast the voice actors who actually sound like the characters.
@Spotted Mutt
Scooby hasn't started words with "r" since Don Messick quit smoking and stopped playing Scooby. Frank Welker has made Scooby sound much clearer. "Rooby-Rooby-Roo" is now "Scooby-Dooby-Doo."

@@kyotheman69 Ikr. The lengths showbiz will go towards to make a quick buck these days
@Spotted Mutt Agreed there, man
Insulting though the studio didn’t contact Matt Lillard to reprise his role as Shaggy. For goodness sake, Casey Kasem was the one who acknowledged him as his successor before he died in 2014.
aw really
Awh :((( I wish he would’ve been the voice
Tbh, I think he's better off NOT connected to this trailer trash fire.
primepm Seen it via streaming already and I agree. Lillard is best left to a better Scooby film that’s not going the “cinematic universe” route.
they did our boy wrong, guy had been voicing shaggy for more than a decade.
No one talking about the fact that Frank Welker has voiced Fred since the beginning, is in the movie, and not voicing Fred.
Maximus Prime he usually voices both.
I find it stupid that they have Frank Welker in a recording booth, script in hand for Scooby, but they didn’t give him Fred
@@suriah12 not only would it have been easier, it wouldve been way cheaper cuz he wouldve just been paid his normal wage and WB wouldnt have had to hire Zach Effron who I bet was the most expensive actor out of the lot.

I smell a conspiracy theory!
They are also all animated. COINCIDENCE? I think not!

"A sad shaggy"
Sounds like brittish slang for some kind of sexual frustration
I’m adding this to Urban Dictionary
I have a sad shaggy.
*man, i hate it when i feel like a sad shaggy*
I went on a date with this gorgeous gal, her and I had a fantastic time together, when we went to her place we just hung out and that was it, nothing else happened no happy ending nothing just talking, I left her place feeling like a sad shaggy.
I have a sad shaggy but one day i will have the shrek
Guys hasn’t anyone seen that Fred doesn’t have his orange scarf
*NO, NOT HIS ASCOT-*
He wears it in times of need, like in the live action movies
Actually, its an ascot. But close enough. Perks for OG Scooby-Doo fan.
he does in the 2002 live action scooby doo movie. that one is so much better than this crap
He puts it on at the end of the movie I believe.
The running in place isn't just cartoon logic. One time I scared my cat, and it was the first time he ever encountered a polished wood floor. He ran frantically in place for a good few seconds before he finally took off.

Not getting Matthew Lillard to voice Shaggy in this movie was the biggest MISTAKE EVER, He has the perfect Shaggy voice but nooooOOOO, We got to get the famous guy to do it..
Isnt matthew Lillard more famous then will forte lol
Will Forte isn't even famous, only comedy nerds know who he is
The VA for Shaggy said doing the voice fucks up his throat
& That's the other thing, I'm not trying to be mean, I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I didn't know who Will Forte was before watching this movie lol
My morty voice sounds a bit like shaggy
The biggest red flag for me was when in the first trailer, The police officer had more lines then Fred, Velma, AND Daphne combined.
*BRUH*
WHAT!
I hear that they're barely in the movie and spend most of their scenes driving to find Scoob and Shaggy. Is that true?
@@cintronproductions9430 I haven't actually seen it, I just watched the trailer counted the lines. I assume it's pretty bad though.
I’ve seen the movie I would say they were in about a quarter of the scenes
Kinda turned off this movie when they cast new voice actors without telling the existing ones. Matthew Lillard is Shaggy, the fact he never knew this movie was a thing till the trailer came out, is awful
It's either lazy voice casting or wanting a smaller budget.
@@stevenleslie8557 Bigger budget, tehy cast much more expensive actors. They wanted to use more well known actors for social media advertising.

@@WereScrib more known holley wood people... THE ALREADY ESTABLISHED CAST WHO WE KNOW FOR VOICING THESE CHARACTERS... aren't popular enough for a movie... .. this decision just makes the movie outdated very quickly especially if it talks about current trends
What’s weird is that Frank Welker actually voices both Scooby and Fred and I have no idea why Warner Brothers didn’t have him voice them both like always.
Let alone Matthew Lillard....
Purely to have more celebrities. Which makes no sense when Scooby Doo IS a huge celebrity and everyone knows what Fred, Daphne, and Shaggy are supposed to sound like. There are tons of fans, more than enough to turn a profit. I can only speak for myself, but I have yet to spend money on a Scooby Doo movie, and I WOULD if the review was positive. All I want is for them to sound right, look good, solve a mystery, and get rid of the live action mess. I don't think I'm unusual, either. But since I only got one of those things, maybe I'll watch this when it hits Netflix.
Add E i thought the live action films were pretty good
@Anita King Shaggy has been voiced by Lillard in one form or another in almost every Scooby Doo product since about 2004. He was also declared the successor to Shaggy, and was adored and even demanded by fans to take over for Kasem after the live action films.
that makes me so unbelievably angry 😭
My confusion with SCOOB was: Scooby Doo is literally KNOWN for having a “mystery” and a “mystery villain”, and yet this movie doesn’t do that. Also the main draw of the show is the 5 character dynamic. Yet the cast is split 2:3 with the side characters being really boring and bland. The first act was good, the second act had ok parts, the third act? I zoned out and stopped watching practically.
Thank you, I feel like some people are missing that when making a scooby doo movie you need it to be a mystery movie with the entire gang, not a superhero comedy thriller with no mystery, or the mystery is not a good one because it doesn't allow the audience to find it out on there own, also anyone who watched Mystery Incorparted which is probably most of the people watching this know Scooby is ancient descendant of a higher power
I understand the mystery part.
But the focusing exclusively on Shaggy and Scooby have been done many times already.
It's a failed take at breaking that formula because thats what they always did though
I never seen it but it sounds like it focuses on the personal relationships and lives of the characters
And some people don't like and/or care for that
They want a mystery movie
Im kinda torn between both points though
SAME after watching the movie with my mom I was like "this whole plot felt so empty. IT DIDNT EVEN HAVE A MYSTERY" most of the times I get to go on a mystery with the gang but this movie just felt hollow at the end and it really disappointed me
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought Velma, Daphne and Fred looked _off._ Their designs still looked good, but they looked more like cosplayers than the actual characters; imitations albeit good ones.
I was gonna say- I think Fred looks the most off. I don’t know what it is exactly but his face?? He looks like a stereotypical dumb white boy jock. The real Fred is actually clever and intuitive.

Honestly, very reasonable
@Another Demon From Hell, I guess no weed = no ui shaggy
If Scoob was real, Scoob would've been dead for 40 years, Shaggy gets arrested for marijuana use and he would've killed himself in prison because he is depressed
You're telling me they had the voice actor for scoob.... But they didn't use him for Fred EVEN THOUGH HE'S THE VOICE OF FRED?! WTF
The original voice of Scooby stopped voicing Scooby in his 60s because the voice was rough to do. Frank is 70 and was doing this movie and the the cartoon AND dtv films. It's not that hard to believe that he might not even WANT to be Fred in this movie. Additionally the studio could be preparing for the day when Frank isn't active anymore and could be testing new voices for Fred.
I think they just wanted a big name actor
@@batman369able It's pretty obvious they had Zach Effron voice Fred for marketing purposes. They didn't even ask Shaggy's voice actor. I HIGHLY doubt Zach Effron will be the the new voice of Fred. It's way more likely that they didn't even ask him to play Fred in the movie like with the other character's official voice actors.
@@AuraKumo104yes marketing obviously plays a large role in it but that doesnt mean it's the ONLY role.
I wasnt saying that he would ever be the new OFFICIAL voice of Fred.
I was just saying that if this shared universe takes off and kids get used to a new voice besides Frank as the voice of Fred then it might make it easier for the studio when they have to eventually have to get a new person to voice him in the traditional media (cartoons, dtv films etc).
RubyCoolGuy FinalForm Thing is is he did lend his voice for a special crossover episode of a TV series in 2018.
It’s not a matter of Frank being inactive.
Why does Saber sound like he’s being held at gunpoint to not be too harsh?
Sydney Padgett yeah he sounds so...unnatural in this video
Because maybe he likes the Scooby franchise
Based on seeing literally all his comments in negative reviews on reddit movies, all the way down to ‘deedee looks like a Fortnite character’ it looks like a copy paste job
Shaggy is behind him holding him hostage with his finger gun
Pretty sure he doesn't write scripts for reviews like this
The one thing that confuses me is, sure hiring big voice actors would of maybe brought in more money, but at the same time wouldnt the original cast bring in just as much money? Due many watching this movie for nolsolgia?
Literally, Scooby made his debut in 1969. That literally means he's going on 52 years of growing up with children. Hell, I'm 23 and I grew up on Scooby-Doo, Where are You?!, What's New Scooby Doo, and Scooby Doo, Mystery Incorporated. At this point, I care more about the characters SOUNDING like the characters over a famous VA.

Is it even Scooby Doo if it doesn’t have the running sound effects?
Quick answer, No
It does have that.
I don't remember the sound effects in some of the animated Scooby Doo movies. Zombie Island for example.
Yes, but also no
I think Shaggy was just depressed to be in this film
Maybe thats bc he smoked too much pot
I think that kind of suits the scenes where Shaggy and Scooby were on bad terms.
Shaggy suffering on loneliness.

HE DIDN’T? BRO HE HAD A KINK FOR TRAPS IN MYSTERY INC, HOW COULD THEY FORGET?
Oh nope okay now I'm convinced, no way I'm watching this
@@LesbiansMarie Wasn't that a running joke in the Mystery Incorporated cartoon?
Fred being a dumb jock who's obsessed with his car was a little too cliche for me. Making him the "dumb blonde" one has also been overdone. And, I don't know how they did it, but they made Daphne even more bland and one dimensional that she's ever been. I really think they should have stuck to the original voices. This just reminds me of the "live action" Lion King where they had access to the original voices, but chose money over substance and skill. Funny how in both films the only voice they chose to keep was the most iconic of the originals and somehow they thought that would save the movies.
I think Fred should be more of a dorky and confident guy who loves traps, kinda oblivious but not in an annoying way, ya know like in Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, it's my favorite interpretation of him
I agree with you completely.
Especially when Fred isn't a dumb jock at all. His whole gimmick is he's the most excited to solve the mystery, almost on par with Velma though he's not a SUPER GENIUS. It's like the people who made this didn't really watch the original show or I dunno. =\

That means Simon Cowell at the beginning is actually Dastardly trying to split the gang up to capture Scooby.
Dun-Dun-Daaaaaaaa
🤔
That... Just sounds so stupid. The only multiple unmasking I liked in a Scooby movie was the one where they went to a summer camp, and the one dude was the merman, mothman, and something else. That was kinda funny, but... Oh well.
Ooh I guess that's true but that's alot of time between a plot detail and the payoff you totally forget about the beginning when you get to that part. I would never have put those 2 points together.
Why didn't they just get Matthew Lillard to voice Shaggy. He's done a great job ever since Shaggy's original voice actor, Casey Kasem retired and passed away in 2014.

Scoob is JUST LIKE THE PEANUTS MOVIE THIS FILM IS ALSO AMAZING OKEY
What the hell was even the point of recasting Fred when you literally have the guy whose been playing Fred for 50+ years doing the voice of Scooby? Makes ZERO sense to me.
Probably because they need big names
Sqibbles Zefron though
@@not7170 genuine question: why do they need big names if scooby doo is already such a big thing? usually i understand but scooby doo would have done fine enough on their own, rightt?
It could be several things to be honest.
1. It could just be the "we want a celebrity voice"
2. They could be preparing for for a time when Frank cant be there by getting people uses to a new voice.
3.they could want someone with a younger sounding voice.
4. (This one is mostly just conjecture)
Frank's around the same age Don Messick was when he quit voicing Scooby. It's possible that voicing Scooby AND Fred in both the movie AND the cartoons/dtv movies might be getting to be a bit too much for him.
From what I can recall, animated movies add the big name stars to them in a bid to draw in a bigger crowd. And when it comes to Hollywood movies, having a big name star add "legitimacy" to your project, even if it isn't warranted. It's just a marketing scheme.
The usual voice actress for Daphne is CRUSHED about it

Don Messick was the original voice of Scooby Doo Frank Welker is the current voice
When they dubbed the Simpsons movie in Japanese they hired famous actors to voice the characters in the movie rather than the the actors from the show, and people were so pissed they had to redub the movie with the actors from the show
y'know, the funny thing is that of all cartoons, it may have actually been a cost saving measure to not cast the Simpsons actors compared to Hollywood talent lol.
Definitely not the case here tho. Especially since Welker is right there.
If only it happened with Scoob
The problem here was other than looking good the movie sounds like the writing is piss poor and they overpaid on getting actors that weren't good at doing voice work.
That's an absolute recipe for disaster. You have the three pillars of important things when it comes to an animated movie. They entirely failed on basically two of the important pillars, and the third is essentially irrelevant without the other two. The movie looks fine and I'm sure it animates well but it's pointless.
the narcissism of today's actors and their allied incestuous cliques of totes contemporary mystery box directors is what took down Picard.
Wait, did the original actors have to speak in Japanese?

Slothster 0612 her voice actor is Latino so im assuming that was a big factor but I agree it was dumb

They wanted diversity in the movie but not enough to make it super noticeable. Velma's spanish line is kinda stepped on by other characters and her ethnicity isn't referenced elsewhere so it's like why did they even bother?
simmsquee yeah exactly
Yeah, and the thing that makes her (and the other characters) distinguishable is her voice. It just takes out one of the things that makes her herself. It kind of just makes her being smart and Latina her only personality traits when she's got so much more going on.

I thought this movie kinda a bit fast-paced, like, it didn't give a moment to feel the scenes or situations in it and indeed, it feels so forced and unnatural... it could've been better if they don't just shove in some 'famous' people and actually focusing on the mystery gangs relationship and their thoughts of each other but nope
tho I really love the Dynomutt design and their animation a lot but that's probably it

They put too many “big star” celebrities in this instead of the original voices. Like seriously, Zac Efron as Fred!? Frank Welker is 1000 times better. That's been an issue since sometime around the Scrappy era. The R tick just kinda comes and goes depending on actor, tone, and direction.
That's been a thing for ages.
Rrrrick
I felt it stood out more in this film because he spoke in COMPLETE sentences which just seemed really odd. Yes Scooby talks and rolls his R's.. but generally he speaks in short cropped sentence structures. He almost gives us a full monologue in this movie!. lol
@@andrewtuell1991 To my knowledge, there have only been two Scooby Doo voice actors: Don Messick, the OG Scooby, and Frank Welker, the OG Fred who took over after Don passed away.
Ever since Scooby doo where are you, Frank Welker was Fred Jones. Atleast this is better than the Velma series
I have two problems with this movie
1. They didn’t have the original (or at least the ones I’m used to) voice actors and it felt a little unnatural to me.
2. They added other Hanna Barbera (forgive me if I miss spelled that) characters. When I heard we’d be getting a Scooby Doo movie I was excited then I heard about all the characters. I was really hoping it would be like the original cartoon. You know people in monster costumes and spooky mysteries.

I haven't watched the movie yet, but it's sad that the movie is getting mixed reviews. I was kinda hoping that this would be the next The Lego Movie. Where they take a nostalgic property, and do it with clever and excellent writing and everyone loves it, but maybe my expectations were too high
Like i said, i haven't watched the movie yet, maybe i will love it, since i am a Scooby-Doo fan, but i think i can already tell by the reviews i've seen, that it could have been better
I hope you watch it.
The funny thing is that the Scooby Doo property had a MUCH better chance of creating an amazing cinematic release as opposed to Lego. Unlike Scooby Doo, before the Lego Movie, Lego did not have established, beloved characters or any widespread lore. I remember before the Lego movie came out, people (including myself) thought it'd be absolute crap and just a ninety minute infomercial. However, upon watching it, it was proof that you can make a fantastic film out of just about anything when you do it right. Scooby Doo already had the building blocks set up for a great movie, and yet they still managed to drop the ball. Very sad.
Quilo Sky well like saber said, shaggy sounded sad the whole time and most of the voice actors are not cut out to be well “voice actors”
Honestly , in my opinion, it’s being blown way out of proportion. It’s a great film. It’s not perfect by any mends but it doesn’t have to be. For Scooby doo especially lately ? It’s the best we have gotten since Mystery Incorporated.

Most Scooby Doo movies: A random product or theme slapped onto a Scooby Doo story.
Scoob: A Scooby Doo theme slapped onto a storyless movie.
True.
Your accuracy hurts me.
More like "A Hannah Barbera characters movie with Scooby and Shaggy as the main leads, and maybe the rest of the scooby doo crew if you're lucky."
Simon Cowell in the film was just a sign that the plot was going to be all over the place from then. It had lots of potential, but sadly didn't deliever as it promised. The parts where they we're kids was sweet, but it was somewhat short to me and even seemed rushed. I just wish they would have atleast involved the older VAs and writers who had experience in the SD franchise and to atleast guide the movie to a more sensible story line. But you know, money is what Warner was seeking out of this film.
The question is, why does it have to be Simon Cowell? Again there's the celebrity promotion but we've had plenty of actually funny people on scooby doo before.
How would the voice actors influence the storyline? Literally the voice actor with the most Scooby experience ever was a part of this film.
I mean the Scooby Doo franchise has been inkind of in a downward spiral for a while now.
The movies are very inconsistent, the series based on Scooby-Doo are all over the place (the most recent one they had looked pretty good actually) and this was a great opportunity for them to finally take this franchise and do something with it. Unfortunately unless you get The Lego movie guys who also happened to do the Spider-Man spider-verse (literally everything they've done has been pretty much amazing) then you're going to get a great-looking movie that's as empty as the theaters that won't be showing this movie.
Why do Warner execs have to keep ruining the scripts of their franchise movies? Did the tragic fall of the DCEU teach them nothing?!

When you’re a side character in the beginning of a scooby doo mystery incorporated episode chuckles I’m in danger
I've had trouble with every new iteration of Scooby Doo "prettifying" Velma, as if having a main character not being 100% attractive was some kind of sin.
This movie takes it even further, though. Velma is now latina for whatever inexplicable reason, to the point of hiring a latina voice actress for her character. As a latino myself, I found this extremely jarring. I guarantee you, "Dinkley" is not a proliferate latin american last name.
Problem 1: so this is supposed to be the beginnings of Scooby Doo right? And since the franchise started in the 60’s don’t you think there childhoods would take place I like the 50’s? And it’s already established that they are from downtown Coolsvile right? WRONG. APPARENTLY ITS NOT THE FIFTIES BECAUSE DAFNE HAS A SMARTPHONE AND THERE FROM VENICE, CALIFORNIA
Problem 2: they didn’t even use the original cast members, and most of them were not informed of this
Problem 3: this is a super hero movie. It’s not a Scooby Doo movie
Problem 4: where dafuq is my mans Fred’s ASCOT! OH and let’s not forget Fred didn’t make a SINGLE TRAP, Velma didn’t drop her glasses or say Jinkies
Problem 5: the franchise already had lore and there is less than a need for a prequel
Problem 6: most kids will have no idea who the crossover characters are
And I was really hoping to get a good ol’ fashion Scooby Doo movie.
Mostly everything takes place in the present day with recent movies and shows, so I’ve learned to not worry about time periods with Scooby-Doo. Because if everything took place in the 60’s/70’s like the original shows, then the WWE crossovers, for example, would make even less sense.
Problem 4 is what pisses me off the most. Those are core character traits and they just disappeared
Andrew CB good point
If you ever watch the reboots or recent movies there all present day

I hated how they did the celebrity thing with that guy in the start, I don't care and don't even know who the guy, never heard of him until this movie. It just seems like an advertisement really because of it.
I agree with the thing on Shaggy, he was missing a lot of voice features and I thought I wouldn't mind at the beginning, but throughout the movie it would just bug me.
But dude, yeah, the voice actors for the other members of the gang were wack! I could not stand it really just listening to them for that long. I tried man, but I'm too used to having the usual Daphne sounding voice, and Fred was kinda off but WTF VELMA????!!! WTF???!!!

Then the usually cartoon stuff like what you said, the waiting 2-3 seconds before running off was not there. I was saddened man, I was torn apart in my heart, because it didn't seem like the intro, they were too fluent in terms of the movement, none of the funny cartoon stuff.
10:17 Yeah I hate that Salmon Cal (Whatever his name is) thing, as soon as they introduced a celebrity type guy my mind went off. I don't like it, these sort of things just ruined the movie for me.
10:46 I just realised this was there, also I just realised the Hex Girls are in their 2D cartoon form. Weird but cool and nice!
As a final note, something that I really hated, that just ruined it for me completely, no going back, was that they made it political a bit. I just wanted an escape from the real world and into the fun world of cartoon, but no, they had to add in some level of politics for some reason. The girl (Forgot her name) who is the helper of the Blue Falcon straight up says "toxic masculinity" in the scene when their ship was destroyed and Fred and Ryan were fighting. DUDE JUST WHY???!!! This ruined it for me completely personally. Even though its small, its supposed to be a fun animation movie with laughs etc.
I just hope they that GB2020 won't be like this and will actually just be a movie, a movie that has a good story, acting and especially no politics.
My problem with the movie is that they are trying to shove modern pop culture references down your throat.
