The american political system is broken, and any form of humor-based entertainment built on promoting one side will inevitably fail. Comedy requires us to look inward to point out flaws in ourselves and our own beliefs, not just what’s wrong with everyone else. It also requires surprising elements, because nothing is funny if you already know the punchline. A premise that exclusively makes fun of «the opposition» can’t be funny, because it only confirms what the audience already believes. «Look at the hippie being a hippie» or «things are different, and I don’t like it» isn’t comedy, it’s just pandering camouflaged as a cartoon.

I don’t know fit is possible, but maybe Disney will realize its mistakes and can benefit a lot by learning from indie animation. The film was originally voiced in French. The version with Shadow as the President is only in the export dub. The British dub has different voices. Interesting that export dubs are still a thing, but only for European animated films. Export dubs started out for kaiju and martial arts films, but most kaiju films and martial arts films only get subbed releases nowadays. Like, Godzilla Minus One only got a subbed release in cinemas, and then Netflix did an English dub.
