    These kids were so remarkably talented at every kind of dance. And the costumes were amazing!

    Hey! Lonnie, when did you turn 70?? I'm your age group or very close to it. Graduated high school in 1963. I do remember comeing from school and tuning to MMC. In 1957 the family went to Disneyland during Spring vacation. Were you there. We have vidio with no sound, of the Mousekateers but were so far away I don't know who was there. That was the time you dressed up to go to Disneyland so all the photos I have my sister and I are wearing cute dresses.....how things have changed. I miss those times. Pity we don't have time machines.🎈🎈⭐🎵😀😀

    I turn EIGHTY ONE this May 31st, 2024!!!!. Diane and I have our 54th ANNIVERSARY in September and are both capable of walking [carefully, not running] with no canes or anything! We have the second longest Mouseketeer message, Tom is 1 year earlier, Bobby 1 later. The guys are long lasting in this respect to the gals. Lonnie

    That beginning to this video whipped me back to a very special time! I was born in 1969 so this show was already in syndication by the time I started watching it. I know if it was so very special for me at that time I know the Children of the 50's must have loved it even more.... What great memories! Cherished forever. Here's to the simpler times....

    Lonnie Burr also made an appearance on the game show "Wordplay" as a contestant and stayed on for a couple of days, and upon his defeat, everyone sent him off wearing the Mickey Mouse ears and sang the theme for "The Mickey Mouse Club."

    Lonnie you were fun to watch on this show, and your dancing was something else. Still enjoy watching clips, and this collection was particularly fun. It made me realize how hard-working those kids were, and to do it all for a camera, not for applause (somebody better've been applauding on the set after they were done!). Just got Lonnie's book and whew, just the kind of read I needed to avoid having memories be too candy-coated:) Lonnie you're quite a guy: you gave a boost to my childhood and hell you're still doing it now that I'm 73. I thank you.

    Lonnie was my Leonard Nickname growing up, named after my Uncle who died in a plane crash around 1946. I was born in 1947, and loved watching the great MMC back in the stupendous 50's. 👍👍👍🎯💎🌞

    In retrospect, MY APOLOGIES to the fans and interested for discussing the horrible acts of other Mouseketeers when you are merely interested, want to remember or be entertainned. Sam, with whom I have never communicated, has taken the time and trouble to put this succinct version of some of my '50s, MMC segments for my 70th and I DO appreciate that, even though I am now 72. Lonnie Burr ... I’ve always wondered whether the vocals of the show were pre recorded in a studio and then mimed over the dancing... if so, the kids did a very commendable job of making it seem live!

    • @lonnieburr
      @lonnieburr Před 4 měsíci

      Our only twice convicted, served time FELON, Darlene was a horrible girl and a worse adult. What she and her stage-father [not mother] did to my girlfriend the first year, Annie - the late Annette Funicello - was truly nasty. So "poor" Darlene Gillespie does not read correct to me, Clarequilty. Sorry, but the truth is just that. LB

      @@lonnieburr I don't know what you're talking about, but show business has always been a fairly back-stabbing way of life. As I recall, however, Annette was the favored Mouseketeer who went on to make hit records (fairly flavorless ones, but successful) and plenty of movies, so I don't think she suffered too much from anything Darlene Gillespie did to her.
