Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet but during an interview, Freddie Mercury was asked how it felt to be the best male vocalist ever and Freddie allegedly replied "idk. Ask Steve Perry".
EVERYONE loves Steve. Absolute legend đ€©â€ïžđšđŠ
He also wanted to be Paul Rogers from Bad Company. Paul was his favorite singer!
Black girl from the hood stumbles upon a Journey cd in the 90âs and it blew my mind. Steve Perry is one of the greatest of all times. Check out âLightsâ
Lights is my absolute favorite of theirs đ„°đđ„°đ
My favorite!
Yes, in my top 5 Journey songs.
So true!
You got it, lights is my favorite.
Journeyâs âWhoâs crying nowâ Live version a must!
The greatest voice in Rock History.
Steve Perry has actually been proven to have a perfect voice. Nobody else comes close.
And this was his chest voice - no falsetto! Amazing!
@@eclconsulting Exactly. There's a video on here somewhere (I can't remember the title) where the creator tries to perfect Perry's voice with autotune, and as it turns out, it can't be done. The guy just has a phenomenal blessing. đ
@@jtoland2333 Was it done by Fil from WIngs of Pegasus? He's amazing.
And perfect hair.
@@eclconsulting No, but I do remember Wings/Peg reviewing him. If I come across it again, I will post the link for you.
"Lovin' Touchin" Squeezin'"...."Still They Ride" ..."Who's Crying Now"..."Stone In Love"...
YES to Lovin Touchin Squuezing!!!
My dude, you should react to The Joker by Steve Miller Band đ€Ż
Steve Perry, not only one of the best singers in 80's rock, he is also a really nice guy. I used to run into them around town and they were always friendly.
That is awesome, if you ever see him again tell him thank you for the music and the love. And I'm sorry we drove him underground. Do glad he's back!!!!
@@OU812_ I think the story of him staying with his girlfriend while she was dying shows what kind of guy he is He put out a new album last year.
@@HRConsultant_Jeff I have everything he is on that I can find. For some reason, totally being sarcastic, I have to replace both hits albums quite often. Strung out is my favorite though.
I love Steve's voice!
For an incredible amazing vocal you really need to watch "Mother, Father" by Journey Live in Houston '81. Great song and as close to perfect as a live performance can be!
Not really. He's just yelling and screaming and clinching his throat on that one. Yes he pulls it off and sounds great but an 1980 or earlier version of Winds of March or Patiently showcase his vocal chops better imo.
I totally agree with Mother Father. It's so good it'll make you rethink your life..lord I love that song when he sang it live.. #thevoice #steveperry
For real, real. The LIVE 1981 Houston Version was absolutely amazing.
STEVE PERRY was INCREDIBLE!!! đđđđđâŁâŁ
You should listen to Journey live, so much entertainment. Perry's voice live is the same as studio..
Yes please play more Journey..
The live video is so much better. Steve gets energy from the crowd. Love your reactions!
Ditto. Mother Father, Houston Live 1981. You will be blown away! Guaranteed!
Child of the 80's here.. my first concert out of the Delaware state fair was Journey in 1983..The Escape Tour.. Steve Perry's voice is undeniable. . this is music to my ears here lol
So jealous!
This was so awesome when we heard song first time in 81. We were privileged. All these 40 year later reactions don't understand how we felt driving in our cars and this song came on the radio. Same can be said for 1000 other songs as well, I'm sure. But the instant gratification we can achieve through cellular device doesn't compare to that Glory we felt through the spontaneous adventures we had as kids, emphasized by great music like this.
Facts!! I love watching their reactions and their shock when they realize we had a great time with music before so many of them were born đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Well said!
Yes...no pitch correction. No autotune. Just actual talent.
Watch the live version, Houston 1981. You won't be disappointed.
The lead singer, Steve Perry, is also known as "The Voice" for obvious reasons!!!đ¶đŒđ”đ€đ€đ€đ„đžđčđđđđ€đ€đ€
And ab he still sounds that way it's 72 years old
I love journey they are one of the greatest from the oldies. They have so many great songs. Only the young, wheel in the sky, any way you want it, and faithful are just a few to name.
Steve Perry is a legend. The Voice.
Ooooo- watch the live concert from Houston in â81 video- Steveâs better vocally live than on record. He is THE VOICE.
Now you have to take the entire Journey...bad pun intended....... LOL :)
Journey is one of my favorite groups of all time. If you haven't already, going on the slower side, please react to "Open Arms" by them.
Love me some journey!!!! â€â€â€â€
Mother Father live in Houston is a must
FACT! MUST be the live version
kudos to the band!
This one needs to be live to grasp the excellence.
You must see him, when he sing!
there just are not bands like this anymore. sad.
They are right about Steve being better live! It was hard for the other guys being famous and Steve comes out of nowhere and outshines everyone. They are awesome too all of them world class musicians. They made magic!!!
Do âLovin Touchin Squeezinâ đđđđŒâ€ïž
Tha jam!
Neil Schoen is an excellent guitarist!
You absolutely have to do Mother, Father live in Houston 1981 by Journey. Thatâs one of the best live performances Iâve ever heard.
Yes please please do that song
Agreed 100%.
So very awesome! Got to love Journey! Love your reaction!
Journey is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana, Steve Miller Band & Frumious Bandersnatch. Journey had their biggest commercial success between 1978-1987, when Steve Perry was lead vocalist. They had so many hits including "Don't Stop Believin'", "Open Arms", "Who's Crying Now", "Still They Ride", "Wheel In The Sky", "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)", "Faithfully", "Send Her My Love" & "After The Fall".
Who the heck is Frumious Bandeersnatch?
@@lindalou6105 Frumious Bandersnatch was a psychedelic rock band in the late 1960s. The band was named after a character from the Lewis Carroll poem "Jabberwocky".
I Love they're Song called...... Lovin', Touching & Squeezing by Journey
Try the band Kansas singing "Dust In The Wind".
Love Steve Perry. " THE VOICE "đđ¶đ”đđđ€
Legend!!! Iâm just getting started though
"Mother, Father" live in Houston, you have to see it to believe it. *Journey is best seen live* any song from their live Houston tour 81'.
Steve Perry was " the Voice" way back in the 70's and 80's!! Check out Seperate ways, and Open Arms!!!
The voice
You are on a great Journey with this band, AB!! đđđ»
Next for them I think youâd enjoy Lovinâ Touchinâ Squeezin or Wheel In The Sky
I drove my granddaughter, who is mixed race. Only one in her class. To school every morning..every morning she wanted to hear this song..she was in 3rd grade
Please listen to Mother, Father and Who's Cryin Now from their Houston '81' live concert. That concert is a Masterclass in control, technic and flat out talent. The entire band was on fire.
You have GOT to listen to Lovinâ Touchinâ SqueezinââŠ.a most excellent song â€
Merry Christmas
I was in the first audience to see Wheel in the Sky..
Wheeling WV.
way back in the seventies
I know the drill, an artist has to go 3 for 3 on your show but Journey is in in a massive landslide, do âLightsâ next, itâs đ„đ„đ„đđđđđđ.
You really need to see the live version bro it's a hundred times better than the original studio version
Listen to mother, father from the live 81 concert in Houston.
Houston 81â liveâŠ..trust me. Any songâŠ.youâll see how good they are live with almost no technologyâŠâŠâ€ïžđŒâ€ïžđ„
The early 80's was such a magical time.
ĐĐ°ĐčĐș Оз Đ ĐŸŃŃОО!!!
Give âStone In Loveâ a try. I was a Journey junkie in the 80âs!
Steve Perry is one of the G.O.A.Ts
Good morning, sir. Not going to lie. Woke up and came STRAIGHT to this page. Music is a universal tool for our soul. Plus Steve Perryâs voice! Thx for your comments and antics. Iâm smiling for the rest of the day. Take care. Blessings. Mrs R. LA/CA.
You should hear Steve Perry sing "oh sherrie" and if your secretary told you all about the ok at once you'd drown a happy man
Mr Randy Jackson on the Bass!
I was hoping you watch the facial video but hearing the song in general is always great
"Mother Father", Steve's voice will knock you outta ya shoes in that one. Live or record. Both sound the same, and "Summer Of Love" on one of Steve's solo albums. Both are masterpieces.
Forgot how much I loved this band. Thank you for reminding me
You are so fun to watch.
Always makes me smile. â„ïž
He is, Hilarious, if I need a smile I just come watch AB.
Mother / Father live in Houston! You wonât be sorry I promise!
Evening AB :) đ
Check out Steve Perry as a solo artist singing Oh Sherrie. Also open arms by journey is great
Steve Perry, aka: The Voice, amazing talent!! Try Lights and
Loving, Touching, Squeezing
Randy Jackson (Idol) was in Journey
Please please do" mother father" from Journeys 1981 Houston concert. No one else could sing that it will blow your mind. And do the version of "Wheel in the sky" where Steve is wearing a leather jacket and no shirt. You can thank me later. The note during the guitar solo is unbelievable!!!?Really in please do them I like your takes on things.
It would be nearly impossible to be on this planet and have not at least heard part of this song. Its a classic and I think being used in the Glee pilot gave it a whole new life/place in pop culture. Plus, it literally pops up everywhere. Lol. That said, Itâs one of the few songs that I never get tired of hearing. So glad you enjoyed hearing the full song! Steve Perry is a phenomenal vocalist! Hope you have a Merry Christmas đ
Please do "Stone In Love" next.
Ah, yuh... DSB all day _erryday!!!_
Check out his live version of Open Arms.........there you will really see his voice at work.
You have no idea what your in for with Journey with Steve Perry. Steve is "The Voice" aka The GOAT. You'll find EVERY song phenomenal! đ. Steve Perry's amazing vocal range is always perfection!
This is what happen to me about Journey! The year was 1978 and thevery first song I ever heard from Journey was 'Lights'! However!!! I didn't know who they were! It wasn't until 1980 when a friend introduced to them to me. And I've been a long time fan of theirs!!
I am so very grateful to have seen them in Houston, Tx July 2nd and 3rd. When they played to 3 sold out shows! And then I saw them in 1986 for their Raised On Radio tour. And then I saw Steve Perry for his very first solo tour in 1994!
Classic Journey is a GREAT group!! You just can't go wrong with Classic Journey!!!
đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„
Steve Perry could have sung in any genre he wanted - opera, country, gospel - he has the perfect voice. Beautiful, always on pitch, never bad.
Itâs difficult to name one song,, there are so many. Send her my love, the whole 1981 Houston, Tx concert. Filmed and an excellent listen.
Good morning girl, Dead or Alive, Still they ride, Why canât this night last forever,,,
Go down the journey -Steve Perry rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed!
đ„đ„đ„đ„
Love Itâ€â€â€â€
â€â€â€â€
AB you know how when you eating and the food be soo good you start dancing that's how you be dancing in the videos I swear đ
More Journey please - Steve Perry is a legend
As a diehard SF Giants fan... this song is in our blood.
đđLove your reactions
This is one of those songs when it comes on in a bar, everyone in there starts singing together and breaks the ice among strangers. Great vibes. đ»
I love watching you. Ignore the haters and keep being you. I'm white, close to 70 and you have never offended me. â€
I hope you and your family have a very merry Christmas!!!!!
"Any Way You Want It" and "City of the Angels"... both are EPIC Journey tunes! Enjoy!
Wheel In the Sky is a great song too... check it out!!
I have the opening line(Just a small town girl living in a lonely world) of musical notes to this song tattooed on me.
I like the live version of this better I think Steve got his energy from the audience
Awesome concert. You keep bringing my younger years back to the surface. Thank you for reminding me of so many memories!!!
You playing my secret husband again. I prefer, "Lights" or "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin""...the older stuff. "Anytime" has always enthralled me with the fact that the original lead singer had Steve Perry on backup. Can you imagine having this new guy come in and it's Steve Freakin' Perry? He knew his days were numbered as lead singer. I also love, "Still They Ride". Great songs. "Open Arms" as well.
Well you gotta talk to CZcams about âLovin touchin..â smh I canât do anything about them not releasing my videos smh lol⊠they have atleast 6-8 videos they are looking over đ©đ€ŠđŸââïžđ€ŠđŸââïžđ€ŠđŸââïžđ€ŠđŸââïž
Steve Perry became my secret husband after he divorced you!!!đ
I have seen the authentic Journey live in concert twice, 1983 Escape tour and 1986 Raised on the Radio tour. Both times the band was perfect, on point, and sounded great. To be honest, in '83 I didn't know what to expect regarding Steve Perry's voice. I didn't know if he could pull off live what he put down in the studio. I needn't have worried. Every note, every run, every single word was laser-perfect, pitch and key perfect, and the high notes were as well. In the past I have left some concerts feeling cheated because the singer and the band did not sound like themselves at all. I never felt that after a Journey concert.
with perry, i've never heard a bad journey song. and the ones with perry and rollie singing together are SOOOOOO good.
Been a Journey fan and a Steve Perry fan since I was a kid in the 70s and 80s. They are amazing. You gotta play some of their old stuff. From Time3 box set Velvet Curtain/Feeling That Way which then leads right into Anytime. This was recorded back when Steve Perry has just joined. There is another guy that sings the first few lines.
Lead singer Steve Perry did his own work check out oh sherry
AB you really would appreciate Don't Stop Believin' from the live from Houston Escape tour 1981 version, it adds so much. They sound and look phenomenal live, as good if not better than the studio version. Check it out you will be happy you did!! Also react to "Mother/Father" from the same Live from Houston Escape tour 1981. Steve is on another stratosphere and recorded this song in one take! Listen to his voice at the end of this song it reaches into your soul. They do have a crazy beautiful catalog you'll recognize their iconic songs and songs you never heard before that will blow you away like "Still They Ride" from the Live from Japan video1983. You will enjoy the trip into Journey with Steve Perry, The Voice. đ€©đâšđ€đ§đ¶
It would have to be live this time because I reacted to that one and it got blocked so yeah⊠Iâll try again đŻ
