Deion Sanders, nicknamed "Prime Time" and "Neon Deion", is an American athlete and sports analyst who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons. During his American football career, he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons, the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins, and the Baltimore Ravens. He also had a part-time career as a baseball outfielder for nine seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), where he played professionally for the New York Yankees, the Atlanta Braves, the Cincinnati Reds, and the San Francisco Giants. Sanders won two Super Bowl titles and made one World Series appearance in 1992, making him the only individual to appear in both a Super Bowl and a World Series.
Sanders attended Florida State University, where he was recognized as a two-time All-American in football, and also played baseball and ran track. He was drafted by the Falcons in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft and played football primarily at cornerback, but also as a kick returner, punt returner, and occasionally wide receiver. During his career, he was named to eight Pro Bowls, received first-team All-Pro honors nine times, and made consecutive Super Bowl appearances in Super Bowl XXIX with the 49ers and Super Bowl XXX with the Cowboys, winning both. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
Following his successful season with the 49ers, Sanders, along with his agent Eugene Parker, courted numerous teams in need of a cornerback. The several teams in the "Deion Sweepstakes", as it was called by the media, were the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys, who had lost their starting cornerback Kevin Smith to injury for the rest of the season.
On September 9, 1995 (which fell in Week 2 of that NFL season), Sanders signed a lucrative contract with the Dallas Cowboys (seven years, $35 million with a $12.999 million signing bonus, because owner Jerry Jones was superstitious about the number 13), essentially making him, at the time, the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL. Sanders later stated in his book Power, Money & Sex: How Success Almost Ruined My Life that the Oakland Raiders offered him more money than any other team, but he chose to play in Dallas for more time on the offensive side of the ball, a chance to win back-to-back Super Bowls, and because of his friendship with Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin. Arthroscopic surgery kept him sidelined until his debut in Week 9, which was once again in Atlanta against the Falcons; the Cowboys won, 28-13. He went on to help the Cowboys win their third title in four years in Super Bowl XXX against the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he returned a punt for 11 yards and caught a 47-yard reception on offense, setting up Dallas' first touchdown of the game and a 27-17 victory. Sanders played four more seasons with Dallas, earning Pro Bowl selection in all of them. On June 2, 2000, he was released in a salary cap move

This is football GOLD bro.. thank you!!
He would be worth 100million guaranteed in todays NFL.
Summerall and Madden calling Cowboys games every week, Neon Deion having fun being the best there ever was, back when the NFL was still awesome. I grew up in a golden age.
Prime was the best Cornerback in his era when I was coming up. 🏈
Yup
..and every corner wants to be like him.. his swag . His style.. everything.. #21
He is the best CB ever
@@adedamolaodutayo2757 Jalen Ramsey smokes him Deion sanders wasn’t a good db
@@stageja900 lol the same dude who got cooked and burnt by Rodgers?
@@stageja900 you're you're dvmbfvck sir
The irony in John Madden saying "that's what Jerry paid him 35 million for" considering thats a signing bonus these days.
5:19 I remember watching that game against Green Bay with my dad. When Deion got the interception, was running it back, and decided to hold the ball out my dad said, "Don't hold the ball out, just get in the inzone!" My dad was a true Cowboys fan from the beginning of the franchise until he passed in 06. I'm glad we got to watch the 90's Cowboys dynasty together. We didn't know exactly how things would turn out when Jerry bought the team, and fired Landry. There were a few head scratching moments like Johnson trading off Walker, but it all turned out great up to 96.
A lot of these young corners can really learn from watching Prime. When the ball came his way his head was always facing the ball you never seen him in a position were you saw the back of his helmet while he was defending a receiver
Truth it's like they only want to play the receiver and not the ball...
Sanders was never beaten by a step. He made qbs think he was. Best corner ever at that. Playing like he was beat. So the qb would throw his way. Which he wanted.
The sad part is after 1995, Deion just got hurt too much. Turf toe and his hamstrings just couldn't hold up.
I know and it didn’t help that he was playing baseball after the seasons. His body got no reat
He is one of the few that played offense, defense and special teams in nfl and was good at them all 😂
He got old. It happens. Look at Rodgers and Brady
0:36 lol he knocked over somebody
Averages 27 yards on Interceptions. Wow!! And 6 TDs in 7 years. He was even good in his late 30's in Baltimore
"1:22" min holding up that ball after that a int is only something Deion did😁....Dude just had mad Swag he knew he was the best and and wasn't afraid to let ya know😏
I was at that Thanksgiving game vs. Miami at the end. Crazy.
If this video was a compilation of tackles Sanders made throughout his career, it would be 12 seconds long.
That man got a pick while playing with turf toe smh...
Coach Parcells once said that any quarterback throwing often in Sanders direction will go bankrupt quickly
Some of these quarter backs threw it right to Deion LoL
Prime is the epitome of CB 🤷🏾♂️
Great 👍
A monster defense
His technique was so good wonder why he didnt have more?? Oh he did but for other teams!!
Or maybe because QBs didn't always throw his way
Dan Marino was dejected 😂😂😂😂😂
Subway commercial anyone?
7:53 First time today they throw Deion Sanders way and he gets a pick.
Imagine #86 heart beat going up against Mr. SANDERS ,He was so nervously sweating he slipped and fell..
PLAY. THE. BALL.
4:51 never understood why he didn't take it down the sideline
Isn't that trevon Diggs
"4:52" min if Sanders didn't run toward Steve Young that's a pick 6! BTW , Good tackle by Steve Young 😂
Ahhh...back when dallas were clutch champions. Now pushovers with dak
That kissing coach is Mike Zimmer
My stupid Cowboys. 49ers got him fof only one million then Dallas paid him 35 million and won the Super Bowl after he helped the choking 49 ers. If Scary Jones paid him the year before Cowboys win 4 straight Super Bowls.
Geez that Hostetler throw was horrible Ismail had 2 steps on him and the ball was short about 3 yards and thrown to the right shoulder where Deion was🤦🤦🤦 all that Raider speed was wasted with him at QB
Treyvon Diggs is the next GREAT!!
We HOPE so but don't compare him to Prime bruh
Damn, these quarterbacks were bums.👎
Dan Marino was never anyone's bum
No Prime just made them look that way!!
Brett Favre was not a bum
Steve Young, Randall Cunningham, Dan Marino, Brett Farve! Those guys aren't bums bro.
@@gregthurman8108 he must be like 12 bruh😅🤷🏿♂️Don't tell him shxt
