    Thank you so much man. Fantastic, easy-to-follow tutorial and worked flawlessly! No data loss either!! Do you know why this error occurs?
    There was slight difference in the last cmd line that I used. My windows boot files were in D: instead of C:
    For some reason, my HDD was allocated drive letter C: while my primary SSD was allocated drive letter D:
    Some background - I had recently upgraded my CPU and GPU (not my motherboard) and had a hell of a hard time just getting my old SSD to be read by the UEFI. After I converted everything to GPT, I then cloned my old SSD to newer 2TB SSD. Everything seemed to work flawlessly until Windows refused to shut down. I held down the power button to force shut down, and when I tried restarting the system, I got that error message. Quite strange.
    If anyone else had any similar experiences, please let me know.

    • @techextranet
      @techextranet  Před rokem

      I have seen this issue happen with both viruses and just plain old corruption on the disk possibly from a bad shut down. The virus actually targets the location and modifies it so you can't boot. And in your case, it sounds like the forced power off may have corrupted it or it may have had issues when you were fixing the UEFI BOOT or switching to GPT. I’m glad my video helped!

      This fix usually is all you need to fix it. If it keeps happening you may have a bad hard drive. You could try to run diagnostics for your model or even use Hirens BootCD to diagnose the disk. Just make sure to backup your data. You may also want to scan your pc for viruses.

      This doesn’t delete data from inside windows but it helps you boot your pc if all hope is lost. You need to be very careful. If you can’t boot the machine before you follow the steps and have the exact error code, then the video should help. If you are not comfortable with it, ask someone else for help. The point is, if you can’t boot your pc anyways, this would help turn it on so you can get into windows. Always remember to backup your data before something like this occurs.

      This only fixed the error code listed in the title. It doesn’t remove any apps or data but you have to be careful with it. I would suggest only following the steps if you are comfortable with it or have some IT experience. I would also suggest making sure your data is backed up before doing anything. If you are not getting the same error code, I would not follow this video. Instead search for your actual error code.

I followed the entire video but without a cd/usb (kinda dumb of me), and then i shut down my computer and turn it back on, it shows me a different error screen this time (Black background, white fonts, and i can't go back to win10's error screen) with the error code of 0xc000000f( i assume it's the same as 0xc000098 but for like older computers?), though it is requiring me to use a disc for my windows installation but my computer disc player won't come out ( I am pretty sure it's broken). So would the installation still works if i plug in an USB with ISO files?

      @@zygmuntlllwaza5773 the biggest issue is just to make sure that you don't lose your data. If you don't have any important data on the computer, you can always install windows fresh. But if you do have important files on the PC, you can just try to follow the steps of the video again. The biggest thing is to make sure you do use the dir commands when I mention them to make sure you’re in the right location and using the right drive letter. Good luck!

      @techextranet  Před rokem

      You will not lose any data if you follow the steps properly. The video shows you exactly how to repair the system and then how it boots right back up. The issue is, if you don’t feel comfortable with this, then be very careful. You can have someone else help you. Or you can try to backup your data first. Long story short, if you do any of the steps wrong, then you can possibly lose data but the video states exactly what to do to do it properly. We have followed these steps on many machines and we were able to bring them back to life without losing any data.

      Well, this almost the same as the 0xc0000098 error. When you followed the steps, did you make sure to do the dir command to ensure you were picking the right drive? If not, you can do this all again and make sure that you use the proper letter for Windows. Meaning c:\windows doesn't have to be the path that your PC thinks windows is at. I would hunt down the drive and do something like dir c:\users or even b:\users or d, e, etc. When you boot to the windows media, it gives your windows drive whatever letter it chooses.

      @techextranet  Před rokem

      It depends on what you mean. Does C contain your windows folder and users folder with your profile? Or does that show up in D. In other words, this does not repair a second disk, this video repairs your computer while it boots to the primary disk. If the orai Mary disk is D, then it will work. If you have a C and D while inside of the repair process, then you can only repair C since that’s what you are booting windows from. So the main question is if you have one disk or 2 disks.

      Interesting, that means that your system does see windows properly. That login is usually the default admin on the machine. If you setup the machine fresh, it could be blank. It could also be an admin account that you made when you first set up the PC. It doesn't have to be the same account that you last used. Does that make sense? Also, if you do get to this login, and you reboot, do you still get the error? Just make sure that you get the 0xc0000098 multiple times and are not able to boot before proceeding.

      That step requires two things to happen. Your s drive would have to be the proper volume. Also, it assumes that windows is on c. If you do:
      Dir c:\windows
      What pops up? If it exists, then the command should succeed if you are in “s” like my video shows.

      Also, are you sure you booted to windows media instead of just recovery console.

      Be very careful as this process is very complicated. In order to make the usb, you have to do it from another computer.
