    Good video mate.
    One thing to mention for the beginners is to tighten the 10mm bolt tensioner first before pulling the pin out

    Good video. It is a lot clearer to watch it being done with the engine out.

      @harveysmith100 Hi Harvey, thank you for watching and for your feedback. The engine in the video has been sitting in my garage for a few years ( hence the reason a lot of the ancillaries are missing ) which is why I decided to do a series of videos about it whilst I dismantle it.

    You should show how it’s done with the engine in the car !

      Hi, thank you for watching and for your feedback. I have 2 video's that show an S type engine removal ( XF is similar ) that shows the removal of the bulkhead panels and if preferred battery tray etc to access HP fuel pump belt.

    Mine is 2013 Jaguar XFs V6 3.0L diesel Premium Luxury and it seem you have to time it as on the camshaft sprocket has the three bolts with elongated holes . Manual says need to insert locking tool in the flywheel and starter motor.

    • @crystalclearmechanics
      @crystalclearmechanics  Před rokem

      Hi Charles, thank you for watching and for your feedback. The 3.0L diesel has 2 timing marks highlighted on the belt, these align with the timing marks on the camshaft sprocket and on the high pressure fuel pump sprocket.

    Brilliant, thank you for sharing this, I’m thinking it’s easier said than done to do the belt in the car though, or is it more a case of just remove as much as possible to gain access?
    Thanks; Matt

      @crystalclearmechanics  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hi Matt, thank you for watching and for your feedback. It is a case of removing parts to access the belt but not too dificult.

    can you please help me, Im not sure where the fuel pressure regulator is on my 2.7 diesel engine, is that it on the top of the rear fuel rail ?

    • @crystalclearmechanics
      @crystalclearmechanics  Před měsícem

      Hi Bryan. thank you for watching and for your feedback. The PCV (High fuel pressure contol valve / regulator) is fitted on the side of the high pressure fuel pump, that regulates the fuel rail pressure, The VCV valve (fuel volume control valve) fits above the PCV and points to the front of the engine. Look at my video "2.7 diesel TD V6 Cylinder Head Removal about 40 minutes in, it shows the high pressure fuel pump with the 2 valves with the electric plug connections. PS, what issue do you have, It's hard to diagnose remotely but I may be able to help.

    Hello I’ve got a Jaguar XFS luxury car 2010 Reg the high-pressure fuel pump in engine do you need to code it after you fitted a replacement

    • @crystalclearmechanics
      @crystalclearmechanics  Před rokem

      Hi, thank you for watching and for your feedback. If you have the 3 litre then it will be timed, the belt has 2 marks, one which lines up with a mark on the rear camshaft sprocket and the other lines up with a mark on the high pressure fuel pump sprocket, it also shows that you fit the belt first, then the tensioner.

    pulling all the stuff off is the part that is not easy as is reaching over the back of the engine to do it on a LR Disco 3

    • @crystalclearmechanics
      @crystalclearmechanics  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hi, thank you for watching and for your feedback. The reason I did the video with the engine removed was to show how to dismantle and replace the parts. It's nice to know where the bolts etc are when they are obscured down the back or side of the engine.

      Hi; thank you for watching and for your feedback. I don't work on many LandRovers but I remember replacing a high pressure fuel pump belt and I think it was the Discovery 3, not sure of the year and I think it was more involved than the Jags but maybe I thought that because I don't do many.

    Do you pull the pin out after tightening the belt?

    • @crystalclearmechanics
      @crystalclearmechanics  Před rokem

      Hi thank you for watching and for your feedback. Pulling the pin out of the self tensioner releases the internal spring thereby tensioning / tightening the belt. Make sure your new belt is fitted correctly around the camshaft sprocket / high pressure fuel pump sprocket and up and over the tensioner pulley making sure the tensioner is correctly fitted. Then pull the pin out.

    • @crystalclearmechanics
      @crystalclearmechanics  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi, thank you for watching and for your feedback. If you give the parts store your car registration number they should supply you with the correct belt or if you wish count the teeth on your old belt.

    • @fadyfikry8020
      @fadyfikry8020 Před 9 měsíci +1

      The problem is my car for territory and this engine is land rover, so the stores have 82 and 85 teeth as correct fit for my car which doesn't make sense, also I don't want to cut my belt and then wait for the order to arrive, so if you have a part number that you purchased or the teeth number of you old belt that would be great. Appreciate your help

      Also to buy it from ford to ensure fitment, they are quoting $700 only for belt and tensioner? Which I can buy of eBay for $130

    • @crystalclearmechanics
      @crystalclearmechanics  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hi, what year is your 2.7 Territory ? The engine in the video is from a 2008 car and has 85 teeth but yours should be newer and probably has 82 teeth, If the Ford main agents can't advise I can only again suggest taking the old belt off before you order the new one ( or order both and then send one back ) You can remove the belt without cutting it. @@fadyfikry8020

    hi is this the same engine in the Jaguar S-type
    2.7D V6

    • @crystalclearmechanics
      @crystalclearmechanics  Před rokem +2

      Hi Shaun thank you for watching the video, yes it is the same. If you want to fit the S Type 2.7 diesel into the XF you will need to fit the XF air con compressor ( whilst engine is removed ) and the alternator ( for ease of cable fitment ) apart from changing those two accessories the complete engine ( with all other accessories ) will fit straight in.
