Mikal really talks about how his crowd affects the team, vs how the opposing crowd affects his team. It's such a vulnerable thing to say as a professional athlete, but it really helps us to understand what it all really is about. Thank you Mikal.
Yea I think that’s exactly what happened to the Knicks crowd and team last year in the playoffs vs Atlanta. I wasn’t there but based on things I’ve heard, I think these guys nailed it. When a crowd doesn’t trust the way a game is going …basketball is so much about momentum. Probably why a team like golden state is always so consistent. Their crowd always trusts their team. We will see if Boston’s incredible defense breaks the crowd or not this series.

Home court advantage has been less of an advantage over the years. Home team only wins 55% of the time in recent seasons, compared to the 80s and 90s when it was around 65% and it was higher before the 1980s. Its mainly due to athletes living higher quality lives (team massage therapists, sleep doctors, modern technology and medicine ect ect) as well as faster, private and more comfortable transportation than before.
That’s why I don’t think people can discredit the bubble chip for that reason. Home court doesn’t matter as much, and to your point players are just more comfortable traveling in general. In the bubble sure they were at a resort but the players were miserable.

Single handedly?
@@thestrika yeah, he led the way as a true PG should by moving the ball which led to others(Brunson, Dinwiddie etc) playing well and looking like all stars.
Okay lets just ignore Dinwiddie, Smith, Brunson, too. i like Luka but the contribution of the other guys are equally significant, too. Its not like Luka score 90% of their scores. Its just ridiculous. Man, we can appreciate Luka without having the need to DISCREDIT the other players. And when Luka was out during their Jazz series, those players won games just so Luka can play in the 2nd round. So stop with the narrative.
If there's one player who NEARLY carried their team "single handedly" during the playoff, its the Joker and his Nuggets.

I think the loss goes down as the worst in NBA history because the Suns were favorites to win it all. At one point they were down 46 points. Book and CP3 will forever be tarnished by that loss. In my opinion, this was the Suns best chance at a title because next year there are at least 5 teams in the West that will be better...including the Clippers, Nuggets, Pelicans, Grizzlies, and the Warriors. Not to mention the Bucks out this year. I also have big questions on whether the Suns will match offers for Ayton. If he leaves the Suns will be a 4 or 5 seed next year.
(8) Warriors over (1) Mavs in the 00s was way worse. Dirk was MVP too
