    Some times, the sharks can be so blind to products that are so far out of the box, they really can't go wrong making a deal. This was one of them.

    This was personally for me the best products the Sharks have missed. The only thing gimmicky for the need of the microwave oven is to reset the book but they introduced new updates of the book almost every year. Students & Officers going public who deal with databases must be loving it.

      I still don't get it. When was the last time you worked through a normal 120-page notebook and had to get a new one because you were out of pages?
      Because I'm almost 40 and I don't think I ever have, ever. Maybe you go though a lot more of them than I do?

      Great for the environment??? It is PLASTIC. At least paper will biodegrade...plastic will not EVER biodegrade. It will just produce more microplastics that will pollute our waters and end up in every living person and other life forms on this planet. Today's paper products do not harm forests because the trees harvested to make paper are sourced from tree farms.

      Yeah… I think they had a bad pitch tbh, they didn’t even mention the environment or use buzz words like Sustainability. They didn’t mention other applications or products, and didn’t speak about the sales or feedback their gotten… no one up there could see the possibilities and I’m not sure if they did either

    Sharks definitely missed out on this one. The pitch could have been better as well as it ended up sounding gimmicky. The company is doing really well despite not landing a deal. In Dec'20, Bic acquired Rocketbook for $40 million. This is one of the highly recommended notebook alternatives for taking notes digitally.

      Are you kidding? it's a stupid idea. U can use a tab or iPad to make notes. Or you can scan with apps like vflat/Adobe scan Wirth text recognition. There's literally no point in erasing the notebook to rewrite In it. WTF just why? Use a pencil if you're that scared about environment. And kevin always makes sense bc he's the most disciplined investor in the tank. Open your mind sir.

      This in definitely not pure genius. Why buy a rocketbook when you can just buy a normal notebook for a lot less and a fixion pen so you can reuse a normal notebook. The rocketbook will not erase normal pen ink and they tell you to use frixion pens.

    Nice to see in end of the video that they actually got aquired by the very big company called big company that make papers pens and all that for big value of 40 million Dollars, its great to see that it's what happened for them and their company especially after how they where kind of teared apart by the sharks in this pitch.

    This was a genius product, and the microwave part is not the biggest selling factor, it’s how it’s system works in tandem with the digital world. I’m surprised none of the sharks saw that.

      People that think this idea is good are mistaken. You can already use apps that scan pages from notebooks. Marking a little symbol at the bottom that sorts it is the only difference - but the symbols are predefined and meaningless. Diamond symbol represents nothing for me.

    Have a one they made that didn't require a microwave justvused an erasable pen on it and could still upload it. It's handy product idk if it's that modle or a different version but know it's a rocket book. I recommend it

      Probably wouldn't have bought it if I was told I needed a microwave. Do know if left in car in az writing on it goes away if not erased... but if you put it in the freezer writing came back after being in a car

    I love Rocketbook products so much. ❤ i love how can keep all my things digitally and on hand especially for homeschooling. I use One Note to organize their work. I have the fusion for personal and journaling use. The teacher planner to organize my homeschooling, 2 core notebooks for each of my daughters schoolwork, cloud cards i have been using it for my reading as a book mark and to take notes along the way, a mini, and a note. I hope one day they come out with some type of post it sticky notes.

    I bought one and use it all the time.
    The problem with the pitch was the microwave BS. That isn't a part of the Rocket book system anymore and for good reason. It's dumb and adds too much work to it. Now you just use erasable pens with it. So much easier.
    I probably would have passed on this if I was a shark too. The presentation as they presented it wasn't good.

    The product is already unusual. Their pitch took it from unusual territory directly to crazy land.
    Anyway, I can just buy a regular notebook and upload the pics I take of it to the cloud. No microwaves required.

    Kevin was so rude in this episode! He just kept beating on them cause you can microwave and reuse it. It's understandable where Kevin's coming from but to stand there and hear him moan about the same feature over and over again that probably took years to develop probably felt terrible!

      That's what you get for pouring your money into something moronic. The same notepad would cost you $1.99 if you went cheap. So I could buy this and put it in the microwave 20 times, or just buy 20 notebooks.

    The sharks really missed out on this one. It astounds me how they could all be this confused at a reusable and technologically compatible notebook. Kevin says “27 dollars for a microwaveable notebook”. He’s clearly missing the point, and so are the other sharks. How disappointing.

    I know it was a great product from the beginning. it would work for big companies. they can recycle it. if i were a shark i would but equity or buy it even if it was not profitable. if you can do some research it you can reduce the cost and it has huge potential to grow in another type of product.

    Kevin and the rest missed the mark you make money by selling their info from their notes the app takes......take their info and sell it to companies.....you make the notebook reusable to make the consumer feel like they are getting the good end out of the deal...when in fact they are not....The deal would've gone through if they market it to college students....they may have to make some tweaks, but yeah a bunch of them use notebooks and their phones for notes.....Huge profits to be made there.

    Much to the chagrin of the original owners, this was, in fact, a poor execution strategy. Sure, they might've been acquired by BIC, but it was a solitary sale which doesn't equate to peanuts in that industry. The only reason BIC bought it was because they knew they were the only players in that medium to carry it until it eventually dies. If anything, this was just a short-term play to diversify their portfolio of skus. Asinine product. Used one myself and I can tell you it becomes exponentially more difficult to write with every additional cleansing. Pens are a joke, and the app works only 20-25% of the time.
