  • Andrew Pearce entered The Den pitching his greeting card business 'Thortful'. He was seeking an £80,000 investment for 5% of the business. After a nervous start, Andrew quickly recovered to provide a confident and convincing pitch for his card company before bravely telling the Dragons that cheques for £80,000 would cause no significant effect to his bank account...
    Season 15, Episode 9.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

Also from the Dragon's point of view between them they'll have 11% once the money is paid. If he sells for £37m like his last business they'll have made £4m from an £80k investment, or if he sells for £12m like his first they'd make £1.32m from the £80k. That doesn't include the probable share dilution but still it's a very promising deal especially when you're giving it to a successful entrepreneur with a great track record.
