To be fair. Someone born in 2000 is now 24 years old. So that's not really shocking. I was born in the early 2000s and me and all my friends live alone now and have jobs and such. The 90s are before my time. Even weirder to think that were closer to 2050 than 1990

Fifth grade rollable thick TV comes out. Teacher puts in a VHS of Bob Ross painting and it was amazing. I'm so glad Bob Ross got the recognition he deserved.

I went through something similar. Remember watching him occasionally as a kid on PBS not realizing they were reruns then later learning that he had already died while I was a toddler was retrospectively devastating. So at least it wasn't before I was born?

In a way, Bob Ross was before his time. I bet he'd be a very successful and lucrative live streamer.
He was rich when he died, but he'd be Mr. Beast rich if he were alive today. He'd probably be one of the biggest streamers on the planet. I mean, that's really what his show was. It was him and everyone at home painting together in real time. It just didn't have the ability to be interactive.
Only celebrity death that hit me like that was Tom Petty. I was doing tech support, fixed a guy's network, and he said 'oh good I have my news coming up, oh Tom Petty died'

@@MauseDays Born in 1980 would be Millennial I believe, but these generational divides are not set in stone, and they seem to shift over time, there is no governing body that determines them and they are largely arbitrary as far as exact dates go. I always thought of Gen X as born mid 60s to late 70s, Millenial born 80s to mid 90s, and so on. 15 years is the generally accepted time frame these days for a sociological "generation", even though it goes against what the word means in biology, which is the time it would take for a person to be born and go on to have kids, AKA a generation of humans.
Like, we don't think of our parents generally as being in the preceding generation even though that is exactly what they are. We are the next generation of our line after our parents. But no one these days things of it that way.
Of course there is also the fact that 15 years is around the time that a human could have kids of their own, although it's not ideal in todays society and not very common in modern countries. It's complicated and I don't know why I am rambling so much in this comment. . . Good night!

Wait... I don't know what surprises me more, that Elijah didn't know he's dead, or that all of them think that Bob Ross isn't still being streamed on twitch. It is legally being streamed there, with the permission of the intellectual property owners. It's not quite 24/7 but they stream entire seasons several times/week. And they have decent concurrent viewers, perfect calming stream to watch on second monitor or listen to going to sleep.
But yeah, the intellectual property rights of dead people are a mess, so basically the money, as does anything bought in his name, goes to his old business partners.
