Fundraising for nonprofits is hard, and planning events - from coming up with fundraising ideas, marketing your event and more - is a lot of work. In this video I hope to clarify the steps needed to plan a successful nonprofit fundraising event so you can raise the money your organization needs and make sure the event is worth it!

Hi Amber. What are the most important points I should tell my online volunteers in the first meeting? I plan to tell them what specific tasks they are going to do in a specific time duration. Is it enough? May you add your point of views? Thanks
Hey there! I would recommend sharing the general idea of the tasks they'll be doing before they sign up if possible, as well as time commitment expected, etc.!

Amber, to be honest, running a non-profit cause is much harder than running a company (i have a business that makes money so i understand) because there is no salary for participants. What kind of specific benefits do you offer to your volunteers apart from money?
That is an argument that could be made (that it may be harder than running a business!). There's a ton of interesting research out there about why people volunteer their time - social connection, genuine passion for the cause, etc.! Giving people the opportunity to meet new friends, do things that interest them, etc. have been good incentives. Check out some of my videos on volunteering.
I know I'm super late, but if you have younger volunteers (high schoolers and college students), consider giving them community service hours and the experience itself may look great on their future applications.

Sure, you can do that. Not every organization can afford to do that, though.
