I have heard the same…b58 is technically stronger….and the M engine has not many parts in common with b58.
S58 3D printed head has a major design flaw that causes it to blow out water jackets with high boost. It can be easily fixed with a special head gasket trick. This is an issue that the B58 doesn’t suffer from which technically makes it the stronger engine.
Some serious money has been put into this build, she's a beast

@@henzo7087 Yeah, I wouldn't bet on that. The current Trackhawk record is 8.56 @ 161 mph, making about 1600 hp. They're beasts.

I can't imagine 1100 HP. My X3M comp is tuned to a bit over 600 HP and it's so aggressive. And the shifts are lightening fast.
What have you done to it? Thinking of tuning mine 😅
@@waynuth Just a tune, no downpipe. I found out it was tuned when BMW refused to extend the warranty. I thought all X3M comps were this fast. Mechanic said nope. Fastest X3M he had driven. I decided to keep the tune on it.
@@GP-cd4ui ha don’t blame you, did it have one of those boxes on it? Presume it’s still reliable? I had an M240 and put a tuning box on it and it was fine for 6 months then broke down and bmw said it was the box so I took it off

The bmw engines from last gen/ this gen seem to handle tunes pretty well and are praised by car enthusiasts no wonder range rover used their v8 kudos to bmw and their m division

@@BIG_SCAM correct but the base car can bought for 50-60k and you can crack on. Even a remap and down pipe would return 750 bhp and that would only cost a few grand

I’ve been mentally fighting about what my next car will be and now suffering from inflation in the US I have a LOT of time to decide lol.
BUT … this is a STRONG contender. 800lbs lighter and cheaper than a track hawk. S58 in the 2020 I’m sold

Uniroyal Rainsport tyres used to be the go to for hot hatchers in the olden days. Ideal for 55 degrees north rain and sleet.
