    Hey Karina, I just wanted to let you know how excited I was to find your jeans videos. I recently purchased a pattern from a custom measure pattern site, but the instructions that came with it were like those confusing Ikea furniture instructions. There were missing pieces, extra pieces with no instructions, and images with hands that covered what was being sewn. But thankfully, your videos had everything I needed to know! They were so thorough, easy to follow, and honestly, just really enjoyable to watch. So, I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU.

    My niece hijacked my phone this morning to watch your new videos while she ate breakfast and kept telling me that she could help me with certain steps (she's eager to copy your handwork steps).💞 The part that amuses us to no end is that she hates wearing jeans! Maybe it's like kids and vegetables, if she participates she might be more willing to "consume"🤣

    At the bottom of the zipper extensions in the curved section, you don't have to worry about raveling. This area is cut on the bias so very little fraying can occur. However, nice job "cleaning up" that area to make it look more presentable.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  Před rokem

      I feel I need to worry. It’s an area of tension there also. Especially with the type of Jean that I make that is fitted. I can’t deal with raw fabric in there 😬😀

    Hi Karina!
    I'm working on my 3rd pair of Sinclair Metros. Due to not enough stretch (I just worried it's not enough, not 100% sure) I think I will insert a real fly! I think I can do it using your video, sweeet.
    I just looked at the pieces again (already cut out) and it seems the front pieces will work as you show here. It looks like the faux fly might be too small? Do you think it would work?
    Definitely need to create the zipper shield, though.
    Any tips as I attempt the alteration (sounds more positive than hack, ha ha!!) Thanks, Karina. Your videos are EXCELLENT.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  Před rokem +1

      The faux fly will be short and you can’t really extend it to involve the crotch curve. You’d need a tiny zipper. The metros have a wider waistband than what you’d have with regular pants because they are meant yo be pull up. You can sew the zipper but it will be super short.

    • @catherinevankampen1262
      @catherinevankampen1262 Před rokem

      @@LiftingPinsandNeedles thanks! I may have to try, even though, as you say, the zipper would need to be 4 inches or so. I will use a nylon one, I think, to easily adjust length. Hmm. Yes you're right, the waistband will look uniquely wide! I just need to salvage the pants somehow, though, ha ha. I think I can. Thanks for the input!!
