To get the most out of your Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier, follow these helpful steps.
Make sure your humidifier is on a firm, level, water resistant surface at least twelve inches from the wall.
To fill, use the handle located on the top to lift the tank.
Turn the tank upside down and remove the cap by turning counter clockwise.
Fill the water tank with cool water, secure the cap, and place it back on the base.
Make sure your humidifier is turned off before plugging it in.
To use with VapoSteam, add one tablespoon of the inhalant to the medicine cup. Do not add inhalant directly to the water.
To use the VapoPads, open the scent pad door. Inset Vicks VapoPad, and shut the door. T
urn the power knob to either the high or low setting to turn on and wait 1-2 minutes for mist to be produced.
When your humidifier is out of water the refill light will illuminate.
To reset it, turn the humidifier off, wait fifteen minutes for heating element to cool down.
Refill the water tank and place it back on base. then turn the humidifier back on.

I'm 63 and recently had a nosebleed. Bought me a cool mist humidifier and it cured me!! I also have a unit like yours. I'll use it in the winter.

My original intention for this humidifier was to use it for plants that require high moisture levels. After using it in my room, czcams.com/users/postUgkxtD9aJ2m6GU-X1IChQxjn9l31K1A7Kpwj however, I think that's where it is going to stay in the fall and winter season at least. The increased humidity in my room made the room warmer and more comfortable. I had first ran the humidifier for 4 hours with the timer setting for it. After the first hour, I checked my room and can feel the difference. When the full 4 hours was up, I checked again and noticed that the humidifier was shut off as it is suppose to. The moisture level never seem to get passed 56/57%. I then let it run until all the water is used up, which it wasn't all used up. There are still some left in the base that you are not suppose to add water to. I filled up the water tank all the way again, being careful when removing it from the base. Some left over water may spill out. After putting it back on and setting the unit to auto, I let it operate. It didn't stop running, rather I don't know if it did at any point since I didn't check it regularly, for 24 hours after which the water in the tank ran out. The moisture reading never passed 56/57%, which may be a good thing for me. Being situated right next to my bed, the noise was not very noticeable with the occasional water gurgle from time to time as the unit ran.

These things are really nice.
I remeber my mom bought me one of these on the day of a violent wind storm. Then 1 year later my mom knocked the humidifier over and it cracks. But all least we still have the vicks warm steam vaporizer. Which works just fine.

Thanks. Helps a lot during the winter, as I tend to get a ton of nosebleeds due to dry air. One thing people should note is that you should try to use distilled/filtered water to avoid mineral build-up. Great product.

when i place the tank there’s something at the bottom that pushes it and makes the water get out in the circle where your supposed to put the cap of the tank is that normal ?
That is exactly what is supposed to happen. When you place the tank onto the base, there is a tab that presses in the spring valve to release water into the unit so that the water can leave the tank and get to the heating chamber. I just bought one today. Based on these comments, I should have looked for reviews. 😳 These comments are mostly a year old, so I hope Vick's got it together by now. Fingers crossed.
What’s the difference between the pads and liquid?
Hey Katie. Vicks VapoPads work with most Vicks humidifiers, vaporizers and sinus inhalers, providing up to 8 hours of added comfort. The Vicks VapoSteam, when added to your Vicks Vaporizer or other hot/warm steam humidifiers, increases the action of steam to moisten dry, irritated breathing passages and temporarily relieve coughs due to minor throat and bronchial irritation associated with a cold. The tank seems to have a fill limit of about ¼ of the tank (if that) so it will wake you up at night when it runs out, then frustrate you endlessly when walking to and from the faucet to get exactly the right amount of water in the tank for it to start running again.

i can’t open the cap on the bottom of the tank. It’s brand new i just bought it but it’s too tightly sealed.

Does using purified or distilled water does that help with mineral deposits so the humidifier will last longer?

I put the vick steam in the bowl amd I see it evaporated but I dont seem the vick smell for long. How I kno it working properly

Is this a good way to setup?
1. Start first for few minutes in high setting.
2. Get a boiling like sound from the cylindrical tube.
3. Get vapor from the cylindrical tube.
4. After 2-3 minutes keep it in low settings.

So the hole where the handle rests is where water is accumulating. Sometimes it works, most times it empties into the unheated area where the handle is. I check the lid is level and sealed. Can't get it to be consistent. Then the red/yellow light of it not working turns on. Must have a defective one, or happening to others too?

I just got mine and am using it for the first time, it has been about 15 minutes on the high setting and there is hardly any mist coming out? Am I doing something wrong?

You will not see much steam leave this unit, as the cooling chamber right over the heating element cools down to the steam so that it does not leave the unit at dangerous temperatures. You should see a small amount of steam leaving the top, and you should notice the water level decreasing. As long as both of those are happening, your unit is working correctly. Unfortunately, we do not advise to add VapoSteam into the water tank. The VapoSteam is only intended to be added to the medicine cup. It won’t hurt it I have ran mine for two years that way. I will say I get a stronger vicks smell by adding to the water.
I just came across an older model (2005?) in my closet. It still works, do I need to use a filter if I'm using it for my plants?

Does this require filters? When I cleaned it there was what appeared to be a mineral/salt block. Should I clean/remove all of it or is that part of the filtration?
Thank you for your inquiry. To confirm, this humidifier does not require filters. Based on your description, we would recommend cleaning the heating element on your unit. Be advised, minerals from your water will collect on the heating element and once they harden, the heating element slows to a pace that is not sufficient to create mist and can cause the unit to not operate properly. We recommend cleaning the unit weekly using white vinegar to help remove these mineral deposits, as stated in the owners manual. Water gather's under the tank and I have dump it's whenever I use it. Very little to no steam and it's LOUD!

Me having a hard time to open it too
One thing you can do is push down while pulling. I’ve fixed a bunch of these and am not the most technical person ever. It is easy to remove the screws at the bottom and take a look at little door to see what’s going on. Make sure it not plugged in and the elements cool. This machine is very simple and resilient so it should be to hard to do. Hope this helps.

My Vicks v750 humidifier sometimes leaks from the control dial. Is there a fix? I can see condensation in the control dial. Where would the leak be to cause this?

That is a good question. No, it is not bad if you use both the Vicks VapoPads in the VapoPad slot and the Vicks VapoSteam in the medicine cup. You can choose to use both at the same time. We will be happy to clarify this Komal. Water will gather in the filter tray and the heating chamber, as water leaves the thank to travel down into the heating chamber. The Vicks VapoPads are made of a cloth material with the scent in them. They will not shrink as they are used. They will use up the scent in them within 8 hours of being opened. I had the same issue. The first one Vicks VWM845 I returned to the store and get the same model. But the second one had exactly the same problem. At first I used distilled water to fill the tank. But then I tried warm tap water and it helped. Now it works perfect!

I bought mine Sat 2/13/21 and the low water level light came on and shut the humidifier down only 2 inches into the very first tank. I have went thru the reset procedure mult times now and it won't run even 2 minutes on either high or low before it shuts down. I even disassembled it and reassembled it correctly but nothing seems to fix it. The help line is closed thru the three day US Holiday.

can we use it in the basement? also, the weather has humid inside but at night I use a fan and at some point, the air is kind of dry and my baby's nose starts to make noise perhaps dry and the baby wakes up. Any recommendations ? for Denmark?

My red light comes on almost immediately every time I put it on high output. Why?
That may be because the heating element needs to be cleaned. The red light will come on in one of two conditions, both which cause the heating element to overheat. The first is that the unit is out of water. The second is that there is a large amount of mineral build-up around the heating element that needs to be cleaned off. @@vickshumidifiersthermomete2655 the unit is brand new. Just got it Thursday. It works fine on the low output setting but as soon as i switch to high output the light turns red and it shuts off. And yes i am using distilled water .

@@saulrodriguez5338 It started functioning better on its own. One day the res light just didn't come on anymore while on high output. Sorry I couldn't really help.

Hello.. can this warm mist humidifier be used in the room with the air condition on?
That is a good question Sepherina. While it can be used in the same room as an air conditioner, air conditioners tend to remove humidity from the air, while this unit is made to add humidity to the air. If you are using the humidifier to counteract the dehumidification from the air conditioner, it will add back some of the humidity you will lose. Hey Quân Phan. Please note, this product is intended for use in the US and Canada. We only recommend plugging the unit directly into a 120 V AC electrical outlet. We cannot recommend that it be used outside of these countries, even if used with a converter. Our products are not manufactured to be able to handle a power-source change, and using them in an unfamiliar outlet will likely cause a product malfunction. Where do you put the pads. For some reason mine doesn’t have one

However, if you have the similar looking V745A, it was made before we started making the VapoPads and does not have a slot for them. Is it normal for it to leak more than 50% of the water in 30 mins? Just bought this today...so it is not even an hour out of the package...followed the instructions and it just leaks everywhere.

very late, but you probably got a faulty one. it seems like a lot of the humidifiers produced in recent months have probably went down in quality. I got mine a couple of years ago, and I run that thing all winter, still works fine for me. see if you can find an older one perhaps!

If anything, I'd think distilled water is _better,_ because it won't leave any mineral deposits behind.
If you only use the humidifier a few times a year, perhaps when you have a cold/sore throat/flu, or when the weather is just super dry ... using distilled water is not a big expense.
you should always use distilled water. tap water contains minerals which cause bacterial mold build up on the heater element

I’ve just bought this today, I’ve set it all up filled with water turned it on. It worked for 5 secs then the light went onto red an now water is leaking from the bottom!
