Just installed an AF 5 speed and it required a .5mm shim on the inside of the hub bearing so the layshaft sat deeper in order to get a shim within spec. - only took 3-4 times putting it together and pulling it apart to get it right haha.
Hi Steve. I saw you angle grinding the ends of the gear selector forks prior to fitting the pawls. I understand why you did this but was it necessary given that the Uni case has two recesses cast (inside) above and below the rear hub bearing to allow for extra movement? These recesses were added at the request of Ben Kemp to Uni. Thanks Uni.
Yes I know but they don't fit in the holes perfectly and I've had trouble before ..... don't like taking it apart again if I jumps out of 5th pain in the ass .... belt and brasses

I've just done an RB252 build on a uni case and flange , rayspeed 5 speed , 62/116 sip crank and vape ign and was pleased with everything I used
So far so good Ste , cant wait to see the final build and test run. Keep on keepin on m8 👍🛵
