- Castle of Illusion was a great game. Would Sega CS's follow up do it justice?

Episode Notes:
1. Captured from the Mega SG.
2. There are 2 revisions of this game with radically different cart sizes. While both occupy just 4 megabits, Revision 1 is on a much larger cartridge.
3. I did enjoy a few tracks of the music, but overall just felt this was a weaker effort than Castle of Illusion.
4. This was also on the Sega Saturn bundled with Castle of Illusion. It was one of the Sega Ages releases only available in Japan.
5. I've always kinda wished Sega would remake this like they did Castle of Illusion. I mean the gameplay is better suited for a modern exploration game, even.
6. While Sega would publish a few more Genesis Disney titles after World of Illusion, none of them were done by Sega proper. They were contracts outside of Sega, or Sega purchased western developers.
7. The Game Gear and Master System saw their fair share of Disney titles. A number of them featured Donald Duck as well.
I cannot believe you don't like the music for this game!!! The tunes perfectly matched the stages!
Sega’s in-house design team and Disney went together like Jordan and the Bulls.
Couldn't disagree more in regards to the soundtrack. Amazing music all around. It fits the game perfectly and it's really well written. Transylvania, Room 1, Room 2, Viking Ship, Hideout, Story and Dialogue, Duckburg, Maharajah and Boss Battle are absolutely brilliant and are among my favorite tracks from the 16-bit era. There's a lot of variety and each song is a great musical representation of its stage. The timbres used here sounds way better than the Castle Of Illusion ost.
This was one of the first games I bought for the Genesis.
Quackshot will always hold a special place in my heart. My mother found Evander Holyfield's "Real Deal" Boxing too violent, so we returned it and bought Quackshot instead. Such a great game. And while the sound effects do indeed leave some to be desired, the soundtrack is overall excellent IMO.
One of the best, most inventive and stimulating games on the Mega Drive library.
Quack shot was one of the forefathers of the metroidvania genre. One of my favorites of all time.
Strongly disagree with your opinion on the music 🤔 I would even say it's fairly impressive for the Mega Drive. Antarctica, and Transylvania are great chip tunes 👍 The Indian temple theme is a favourite one of mine.
I love this game. AND I also think the audio fits it very well... Most songs are catchy, and proper for the audience the game was intended.
It's a little funny how this was loosely based on Indiana Jones, and now Disney owns Indie. Had this been the case back then, this could have possibly been a full out crossover. Also, I need to add that the pixel art in this game is incredible. As someone who grew up a Nintendo fan, you have to give it to Sega; they consistently blew Ninty away in the sprite department.
I never found the music or audio in QuackShot to be lacking. I find it quite fitting! Love this game!
Quackshots soundtrack is so nostalgic.
As a kid I used to play this game over and over just to listen to the viking ship level music.
Some of my favorite sound and music from any Genesis game.

It's funny to have a childhood that involved Contra Hard Corps and Quackshot. Such great extremes of how gunplay can be done.
This was the second game I got with my Genesis that Christmas morning in 1992!! This was some of the most fun platforming with some puzzle elements thrown in! Those beautiful colorful graphics and fun music are still firmly cemented in my mind! This was my favorite of Sega's 16-bit Disney outings.
This one remains one of my top 5 fav games for the Mega Drive, and one of my most fondest memories of playing on a Sega machine.
I remember when this first came out and playing it in a store - the graphics blew me away and I went home and told my brother "it was like playing a cartoon!"
This was one of my favorite sega games!
