Man I could watch this series all day.

Absolutely
Same
I have been 😂
I got raped to these games
The presentation in your videos is a thing of beauty. Unmatched across all of gaming CZcams. I love this channel. God, you're amazing!
It's very reminiscent of 'Motivedia - Boxing'. Check it out. Totally different subject but presentation off the charts.
I second this.
There's a few other gaming channels with the same level of presentation, like The Gaming Historian and My Life In Gaming, but yeah it's pretty rare on CZcams
@@duffman18 My Life in Gaming is pretty good, but I still think Splash Wave takes the cake. I actually go back from time to time and watch older videos. The only other channel I do that with is Core A Gaming, because those scripts are so good.
@@FOXDUDETV Core A gaming single handedly got me into fighting games. They're an amazing channel
It's pretty hard to convey just how magical Castle of Illusion felt at the time. You could just feel the quality oozing out of it.
It's a crime this channel isn't more popular. You deserve 1 Million subs with content this good.
I could not agree more!!
@@walterjr9702 Agree 100%
He also deserves more than 47 Patreons and $177 per month.
@Steven 1773 ^^This
@Steven 1773 So true.
Lacklustre quantity over quality.
Oh boi, here we goo, a quality video to fight today's boringness
yayuh
Hell yeah! Gimme those radical 3D graphics
I see a new strafefox video, i click thumbs up before i even start watching it!
Ah what an awesome video to be released today! If you make a video about EarthBound in this style someday I would be so happy.
Herr herr!!!!
What a project that would be. Shenmue would be sick too, or the Yakuza series.
Content: *10/10*
Presentation: *10/10*
This Channel: *10/10*
Quackshot and Castle of ilusions are eternally on the list of best games on genesis!!! Fantastic vídeo by the way!!
I has noticed recently a thing in Quackshot. If you can look at map screen, you’ll find name of Thomas Yuuda in middle lower of the map. So this was he who was in charge of artwork. :)
THIS is the most underrated channel on the entire CZcams platform
Oh man, that musical cue from Ducktales brings back a lot of cheerful memories. The composers on that show were ridiculously talented.
That composer was Ron Jones, who also contributed to the first few seasons of Star Trek TNG before being fired for his music being too awesome.
@@taopilot2669 There were 4 composers working on the Ducktales soundtrack, you can check around.
World of Illusions was me and brothers favortie co-op game to play. We would constantly try to optimize each others inputs to try and beat the game as fast as possible.
Amazing game yet so short. :(
Clean and very informative videos about games that made my childhood? Yep, i'm in.
What a clean old man
MultiTarded, you must be as "Tarded" as you are culturally illiterate. I think it was all the Dragonball and elevator music. Have fun in the comments section dumbass, bye bye
Thanks for posting this. This is one of the greatest and most beautifully crafted "making of" videos I've ever watched. I grew up playing World of Illusion - this game means a lot to me and brings back great memories. Keep making more of these videos!
Wow...more than 70.000 subs. Your channel has grown quickly! Great to see your work is appreciated by so many.
CZcams’s best retro gaming secret.
Otha Bojangles It truly is
Dude you deserve a show on Netflix or something. The production, polish and professionalism is out of this world. Also, A fascinating insight into the craftsmanship of SEGA's licensed titles, They weren't just cash ins - They truly respected the license holder and wanted to make a great game with memorable sights & sounds regardless of the IP, And they succeeded.
These series are really the best, game documentary shorts out there.
Mindblowing. The production values and the amount of information provided is top class
This channel offers the best reviews you can ever find in the whole CZcams , the narrator's vocal tone and script is more than satisfying. This channel has always been about production value.
Many tears of joy were shed while watching this. Thank you for the beautiful trip down memory lane.
What a f'n homerun of a video. As artistic, creative, and polished as the games it was covering. Wonderful work.
Your videos feel like Christmas to me. I love when they appear on my feed! Cant wait to watch.
Welcome back to the best channel on CZcams... work ethic, knowledge, and care is so apparent in every single video. Love your channel man, thank you!!!
Land of the Illusion on sms is one of my favourite game of all time.
Glad to see someone talking about the illusion series!
Amazing! In my opinion, the Japanese teams handled the Disney franchises better than the western ones. Just take a look at the games mentioned and those made by Capcom in this era (Magical Quest series, Goof Troop etc).
Great video as always, Strafefox! Made my day.
Do you hate the Western ones wiht a burning passion?
Ahhhh.... that iconic DuckTales background music... truly incredible music for that series! Far better than any movie soundtracks today! A sense of true wonderment and adventure you can feel from those songs.
Excellent choice!
72K subs? I'm glad CZcams somehow knows how to recommended me underrated content that I actually enjoy; amazing production value fam!
When I first saw this video, the 3D effects were insane. Those are amazing little animations that still blow my mind to this very day.
"Another strict rule was that Mickey was not allowed to die..."
17 years after and Disney allows JunctionPoint to have him quite disturbing desolve into a puddle of ink when he loses all this health in Epic Mickey.
I'm so glad you took my advice and started a patreon. You are still. CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. I hope I get as big as you are and can help you grow someday.
I grew up with these. The Illusion games were some of the first games I ever played! And I still go back and revisit them every few years. World of Illusion, Castle of Illusion, Land of Illusion, and Deep Duck Trouble are right up there with Sonic in my early gaming memories.
Thank you for covering games from my childhood. Your style and professionalism is unmatched. Subscribed.
These videos are so, so important in highlighting the relevance of forgotten franchises. With Nintendo practically owning the monopoly on the image of nostalgic interactive fun from way back when, some of the underrated classics that were hugely entertaining and remain so today deserve recognition.
Literally came to your channel yesterday and was like "But it's been 2 months. Why are there no new videos!?"
And here we are.
As long as you keep putting out quality like this, you can take all the time you need.
First time in my life I liked a video before actually seeing it.
The quality of your video is absolutely awesome.
I hope someday you'll be rewarded for this quality content.
My favorite channel of YT, by far.
Thanks for paying respect to my youth in such a great and informative way!
Amazing video!! I recall being blown away by world of illusion presentation back then. It was like being in a Disney movie
Man. How have I not found this channel until now? I'm also an animator (though I have none on youtube) And I'm blown away by the love you pack in these videos. And your love for Nintendo. Thanks for taking the time to nudge those keyframes for viewers' eyes like mine.
The quality of this video's presentation is outstanding!
Those games were a very important part of my childhood and during this video I couldn't help myself but smiling and remembering those beautiful moments that I had. Thank you so much
Man, wish this had been twice as long!
Want to see more videos like this one!
Master System's Castle of Illusion and Land of Illusion are AMAZING games!
You’re videos and production alone take me on a nostalgia trip! Love this channel!
These videos are easily worth the wait. I hope this channel grows even more!
What an honor to work with such a prodigal 3D artist! ;)
Thanks buddy! And what a honor to work with such an incredible narrator! :)
strafefox ☺️
Using the Ducktales soundtrack in the background was fantastic, great video as always!
I love this series. These three games are treasured childhood memories for me, so it's a treat to see them all in one video!
I'd really like to see a "Making of a Strafefox video". You put soo much effort into 3d modeling backgrounds which only display for a matter of seconds in a video. And that's just one speck of the work you do. A "making of" video could really help us understand exactly how much work is poured into each one of your wonderful videos.
You deserve a few million subscribers with how much you devote yourself(yourselves?) to this channel. I really love the work you do.
That was a real trip down memory lane. I have both Quackshot and World of Illusion and they were both impressive games. Your inclusion of Sega Power magazine reviews just adds to the nostalgia. Thanks, I really enjoyed learning more about these games.
Serious kudos to Emiko Yamamoto for making one of the best games on the Genesis, her first one too!
What a great video!
I clicked because of Quackshot . Hugely underrated game. Can we talk about the amazing music?
Castle of illusion is pure magic. the first successful experiment in an interactive fairy tale. we are talking about a real killer application of the mega drive. true classic. has a special place in my heart as a gamer. Thanks for this neat video as always❤
A superb mini (Minnie?) documentary! I grew up with these games, and learning about them in this level of depth is not only nostalgic and enlightening, but kind of heartwarming too. Thank you for this!
It is absolutely insane how underrated this channel is
insane levels of production value, I love these videos. Must take forever to produce
Wow, this Duck Tales music. Takes me wayyyy back. Thanks so much!
this is so high quality it puts real tvproduction studios to shame. Thank you for you hard work and I'm so blessed to be able to binge on all your series during quarentine.
This is brilliantly put together I'm glad I found this page!! Great work keep it ip!!
Wow i just finished Castle of Illusion today and was playing Quackshot, then you released this awesome video!!!
Ha that's cool! uhmm I mean it was all part of my plan ;)
@@strafefox Lol!!! XD
I grew up with all 3 of these games, as well as Fantasia, and thought this would be an interesting watch, but my goodness, I didn't expect they'd get such an amazing amount of animation effort thrown in there with them. Wow.
The production and design of this documentary is unlike anything I have EVER seen on CZcams. It is simply STUNNING! Do you do this type of work professionally? How many hundreds of hours of love and care did you pour into making an episode like this? I'm seriously blown away... Keep up the great work! Subscribing to your channel is the easiest decision I've ever made!
Awesome! Thanks so much! Yes I have a background in graphic design and have been working in Multi-media for almost 20 years. I usually take 3 months for each episode and try to do a little bit each day.
Wow...this video was a blast to the past. These games are my childhood. Loved them and they still hold up today.
This is one of the best videos from the channel, you capture so well the magic feeling from Disney, by the musics and designs, amazing job, this deserve more attention!!
Best video game documentaries on CZcams by far. Outstanding quality as usual!
I absolutely loooove the Duck Tales music. Thank you for that subtle beauty inclusion!
You blend entertainment and education perfectly in these.
My new Favourite channel, you can tell the production team really went to town in research and editing. Its so professionally made and high quality.
That's awesome to hear! Thanks so much
always having a blast watching your stuff, it's so well done and it obviously makes me nostalgic every time
Wonderful. You truly are doing an amazing job. These wonderful games deserve to be remembered and you are doing it in the best way possible.
Thanks for mentioning Carl Barks. He deserves the exposer.
Great video as always. I loved the Illusion series as a kid. I was only 5 years old when Castle of Illusion released in 1990. I remember playing the Master System version and loving it. I didn't get a Mega Drive till 1993/1994 when I was about 8. I had no idea until then that there was a version for the Mega Drive. When I played it, I was amazed at how different the two games were built at the same time felt exactly the same.
I later found out about both Quackshot and World of Illusion and put them on my Christmas list. I remember having an awesome Christmas that year when I got those 2 games. I sat in front of that TV and played them both all day long.
If you were strictly a Nintendo kid back then and nothing could sway you to the Mega Drive/Genesis then there was a very good chance that by playing this series of games would've made you want one.
World of Illusion was my favorite, by far. That game had a special place in my childhood.
What a treat. This video told me everything I could possibly want to know about Disney's business relationship with Sega and more. I'd love it if a similar video about Disney and Capcom's business relationship around that same time
You have no idea how happy it makes me when I see a new video uploaded from this channel. Time to sit back, relax, and enjoy some quality content.
“Low quality products that could tarnish a beloved brand”
...looking at you, Fantasia.
Man, Fantasia was such a letdown, especially when you've played the other Sega or Super Nintendo Mickey games. Kingdom Hearts did a fair job emulating Fantasia though
I tried replaying it recently.
Nope, never again. Good idea, poor execution.
I almost, ALMOST bought the game in mid 1992 as I was allowed a game purchase 2-3 times a year outside of rentals. I went with Marvel Land instead (and then Taz-Mania, TMNT:HH, and Wonder in Monster World for the remaining games). Man I loved how Meijer and Walmart used to heavily discount most games in the early to late 90s.
@@Alexinytown That's Infogrammes for you. Instead of focusing on the gameplay and balance the difficulty, they prefer make excellent graphics and sound.
Another amazing episode Strafefox! Thanks for covering some of our absolute favourite platformers of that era.
My goodness, I adore this channel. Thank you for all of your hard work. You are truly a blessing
Good golly, how much work must have gone into this! Simply amazing.
I have such fond memories of World of Illusion, everything about that game was amazing!
I can't thank you enough for this video, I grew up with Fantasia and Quackshot, and now knowing the history behind them makes me so happy.
What I enjoyed about those two games, besides mickey and donald plus the overall magic feeling of old disney, was that [for a young kid] they were pretty hard games. Fantasia was a very hard game for me because of the mentioned clunky controls and sometimes off hitboxes, and quackshot added an extra layer of complexity by being a "metroidvania-esque" game but also having text on it, since my language isn't english and the game didn't had options for my language, so figuring out what to do blindly was so entertaining to me.
To this day I pretty much think about both of those games all the time, they've inspired me in a way or another, so knowing those two games are related in a way gives me happiness.
Love the Ducktales music playing in the video.
1:40
Amazing video , I still play all these games , so Happy I grew up with them.
Your channel is a Treat to my painting eye applied to these games, it's like you read my unconscious need for a documentary for these gems.
Such a great video, thank you for making it. The Megadrive, and the Disney games that came out for it, both hold a very special place in my heart.
It's nice to know they were made with such love and care; it really shows.
A delight to behold. Thank you for injecting detail and care into these productions.
Absolutely outstanding quality. The content, rythm and edition is top notch and really resonates with the sense of wonder of these games.
This must be one of the finest CZcams channel not a single doubt about it.
Amazing presentation as usual. Probably the best retro gaming channel on CZcams IMO. Keep up the stunning work!
This video was really well done. I am impressed I was able to find a ‘making of’ video this in-depth of some of my favorite SEGA games!
You nailed it yet again, you magnificent bastard. Keep up the great work!
Just wow, brilliant backstory as usual
World and Castle of Illusion were my first video games. Great memories.
Absolutely phenomenal. Professionally done and amazingly entertaining. Most underrated channel on CZcams.
Thanks so much! :)
Damn, this video is bringing back some memories. Top notch presentation, as always!
The least we all can say for you is.. THANK YOU.. for upholding the sanctity of our childhood memories through your superlative work.
Once again, good choice of commentary voice 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Every new video from this channel is a blessing. Never stop doing this amazing work.
These games were amazing. Awesome video, thank you for this!
Brings back a lot of great gaming memories. World of Illusion of probably my most favorite.
I really loved this Video. These were 3 of my favourite Genesis growing up and I think they deserve a lot more love than they get
