- Dawn Staley said in a recent radio appearance on 107.5 The Game that South Carolina's women's basketball team will be playing their season opener this November in Las Vegas, Nevada. The issue, however, is that they currently don't have an opponent as the original opponent backed out for publicly unknown reasons. Who could the Gamecocks play that would make sense? Andrew brings up three different teams, and what they could bring to the matchup, and gives his thoughts on where Lamont Paris' roster currently stands for South Carolina's men's basketball program!

Plus, many would want to allow time for Southern Cal's lineup to gel and avoid a blowout or a repeat of LSU from last year.
It would be a great match up bc it would be. USC v USC, and both teams will have some of the top incoming freshmen.
ND would be a good match-up, too!
SC is scheduled to play UCLA, so they can have a back-to-back game in LA.
Back to back playing the LA schools would be great! South Carolina should schedule that! Play Ucla then 2 days later roll down the street to USC 💯🔥
UConn can't play South Carolina in Las Vegas because UConn is already playing Gonzaga in the same Hall of Fame Series on December 14th at the Madison Square Garden location.
Right, and again, would they really want to play Carolina twice away from their home building?

I saw some Southern Cal home game highlights this past season. Uh, the gym looks nearly empty in just about every clip. I don't think, despite their history and "star power", that they generate a lot of travel support.

I don’t think Southern California would do it. They might be preseason number 1 at least number 2 & don’t want to risk an 0-1 start
Stanford makes the most sense after Southern California.
Left coast Pseudo USC versus True USC would be a fine matchup to settle the "Who's #1" dispute right out of the gate.
Imo that wouldn’t be fair the real sc has crazy chemistry, southern cal is gonna take a while to learn how to play together

@@jjaylanni I’m a South Carolina fan so idk what you mean by excuses I don’t think southern cal will ever beat us but it definitely won’t be at the beginning of the season
@@DUCEDP05 but everyone said the same thing about south carolina last year. and they came out doing the exact opposite of what everyone thought they would. lindsey isn’t in the same conversation as dawn when it comes to coaching, but if usc can get everyone to click over the summer, i don’t see us easily beating them which would make for an exciting game. on paper we are probably the top 2 talented teams besides uconn.
@@jjaylanni they also said the same thing about lsu when they built their super team through the portal and that didn’t go the way we thought it would , we built ours through recruits and everyone knows their role , USC has 3 scorers who were main options for their prior teams , so it’ll definitely be interesting to see how they work that out , and yeah I think I fear UConn a little more than usc , geno is a bad man and now they have depth only thing is I don’t think they have a lot of size
