Dont listen to the hate mat u sparked me to do wood working i built a bed, workbench, not to mention the tools n tips SAVED alot of money
Really nice to see you do an actual build video, instead of another tool review. Nice change of pace
Agreed!
Yeah, started from the beginning but lost interest in the channel as it started moving away from actual woodworking.
Being a "newbie," this is just what I'm looking for. Thanks, Matt!
Holy cow brother all your outdoor woodworking projects how long have even been working on this video I haven’t even watched it yet, but I’m excited too !
Built that L shaped outdoor bench. Used your plans about 80%. Built it 12’x16’ to fit my space. It’s awesome. Everyone loves it. Wish I could post some pics.
More builds please
Sure as long as you watch it 200 times a day so he can make enough money off it
What I’ve learnt making outside furniture is if you can avoid having end grain on the ground do it.
If not cut your legs to size then cut 50mm/2” off the bottom, then reattach that piece with screws and wooden plugs and just some spots of glue, it’s now a perishable part. Most people don’t ever treat their wooden furniture until it’s too late 😂. If rot sets in you can remove that 50mm and replace it rather then the whole leg. I live in England so our weather is very wet. It rained for the past 4 days and for 24 hours solid one day, it’s raining for the next 7-10 days. Nice video mate, I especially like the chair you had to get heavy handed with to take apart. 😂👍🏻
Matt and Amy, Thanks again for the gift card you gave me yesterday.
I took a picture of the table saw crosscut sled that I purchased with it. If I can ever figure out how to post it on one of the these comments You can see it setting on top of my table saw in my 10 foot by 12 foot wood shop.
You're welcome!
Matt, I love your furniture, and I'm thinking about using them to build furniture for my deck soon, but what I really want to know is how you build that pergola at 44:56 on your deck because it looks AWESOME!
Matt,
You have grown over the years. It’s cool to see how far you have come. I love your content
Thanks Matt. It's very helpful to see the project assembly to go along with the plans. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
YES!! Thank you for this video!! I bought some plans, but im excited to see what else i can find from this video! 👊
Man! Tons of outdoor builds! Thanks Mighty Matt!
I love the garden games 🤗🤗😁🦾😎👏🏻
Love that chair. Love that SHIRT even more ❤ Amazing Work!
Hey Matt! Just wanted to say, I love your channel and I’ve watched tons of your videos. (Some repeatedly, like the end table with drawer build…though I still haven’t gotten around to building it! It’s coming up soon on my list though.) Anyway, just wanted to say, don’t be discouraged by all the people saying “more builds, less reviews.” Personally, I LOVE the build videos and will watch every single one you post, but I do understand the statistics and algorithms have proven to you what gets views at large. I typically watch those review videos too, but definitely enjoy the build videos. Hope to see some sprinkled in every so often, but will keep watching either way. You and Steve Ramsey were definitely my first CZcams woodworking teachers and I so appreciate all you’ve put into your journey and mine! God Bless you and yours!
Great reminder video. I forgot you had the outdoor bench so I bought the plans. Thanks again.
Thanks for your plans on the towel racks.
Keep up the great content.
Glad you like them!
Love the video and the projects! The only reason why I am a bit hesitant to buy the plans is the fact that I'm from Europe and I don't understand the imperial measuring system. But you have given me many great ideas for projects during spring!
I would have to say I like your build videos best . Less reviews more builds
I was at Lowe's the other day and noticed that the finished fence pickets (1x6) were cheaper than the construction grade 1x6s in the lumber area. For the seating on the outdoor benches I think they should just as well as the more expensive ones. Just have to square up the angled end and there you go. And honestly a lot of those fence pickets looked a lot better than the lumber did, they won't as full of knots and looked straighter.
I'd agree with you on most of what you're saying but I'd suggest you check the thickness of those pickets. The ones I've been seeing in the big box stores are only 5/8" (actually about 1/2" once sanded).
Love the channel, thanks for sharing. Tuba-six😂😂 so funny.
I am a begginer, Thank you sir! I got more ideas with you 😊
Nice to see how well the Titebond Glue holds!
Alot of great ideas, thank you Matt!
Thanks, Matt!
Love your work. Cheers
Also cypress and redwood are good options for outside furniture tho both cost. But keep in mind the longevity.
Just subscribed and shared I have been wanting to build a bench, maybe not L shape but great video looks fantastic. Hope to build and showcase on my channel when I do.
This guy really likes talking about Tuba's that come in sets of four or six.
Would it be better to apply finish to the parts before assembly to ensure 100% water/weather proofing? What about applying polyurethane finishes?
Could you please do a video on some diy window shutters please???
Cabots aqua deck or whatever it is haha as an Aussie that ad lives in my brain but seriously good stuff our weather is stupid dramatic up and down here in Victoria other states more up all Year but Cabots handles all of the drama American climates are usually pretty calm compared
(Timestamp 18:37) 😆Some of them folks up North really do have a time figuring what we're saying down South.
#onebasix I love it
I subscribed when you said what had happened was.
Hey Matt. When your spraying your outdoor furniture with Cabot Timber Oil do you wipe off excess after applying just like with interior stain or do you just spray a coat and leave it..Thank for all your content..
How wide do you think you can make that bench before you have to add another set of legs???
I could do without the god stuff. But I really enjoy your channel. Thank you for the work you put in.
Hello again, I have seen a lot of your videos and I love them. I've just finished building an end table and I've seen you use stain on yours that really makes it look good. I wanted to know what stain do you use for it? I'm doing a white frame and legs but I would love to know what stain would be a good one to use. I'm looking for a darker brown-ish finish that you see on most tables built like that and I would prefer one that has both sealer and stain in it. Do you have a recommendation for what I might be looking for? Keep the videos coming, you are one of my favorite channels. I would appreciate any suggestions you might offer. Have a blessed day.💯😁
Thanks. Minwax Dark Walnut is a good dark brown that I use.
Is that Southern Yellow Pine, or just regular pine or Douglas Fir and how much did the wood, screws, glue, finish, and cushions cost?
I wanted to say it's a very interesting video, great analytics, I love the choices, I like the products being produced, the vision. I'm just curious to know how much effort how many hours, how much work to produce this. It's not a side hustle I don't think, it's a full time job but 42,000 and $64,000 well that's not even enough to pay my mortgage.
Are the 6" torx bits from amazon?
Always buy your cushions first, they are all different depending where you buy them.
Do you have a link or model number of the Dewalt miter saw you’re using?
I like the performance of General Finishes Exterior 450 water based stain and you can get it in various colors.
Ahh the good old days when you were a builder instead of just constantly reviewing things. Some of the reviews are cool but your channel was more useful when you actually built things.
Nobody watched the builds. And judging by the lackluster views on this, it’s still true. I focus 99% of my attention on what people actually watch. Those are my good ole days
@@731WoodworksI feel like it's partially the fact that it's a film length upload
@@731Woodworks you have significantly raised the bar on the quality of your recordings and editing. New build videos would also benefit from this!
@@rudyolph one of his last build videos he did people accused him of ripping off someone else 's plans
@@731WoodworksI’m thinking this wasn’t a huge hit view wise because it’s a mash up of old videos people have already seen and it’s winter time..out door furniture isn’t on peoples mind at the moment.
I know I miss the build videos, that’s why I originally subscribed years ago, loved watching the build videos, now it’s just tool reviews. I think if the video quality you have now was put into build videos, they would be loved. It would also be nice to see the tools reviewed actually used to build projects instead of just a bench top review. Just my opinion lol.
Why are you not using treated lumber? Do you live where you dont get a lot of rain?
Were dud you get the Maine State police plate. Luv it
Former Col. of the Maine State Police sent it to me as a gift.
After you apply the oil, would you advise adding some polyurethane for a little extra protection?
I don't use any poly. I haven't seen any negative effects of not using it.
Will a Chicago table saw work well or not
just a question can you use a cnc to make the drilling faster to make the last game
yes you can
👍👍👍
My back hurts watching you haul those tubafours from your truck.
I feel like this is an old build from a few years ago, or is it just me
Tubasix 😅
May I suggest that tool reviews are incorporated with something that you build using it. I loved your older videos but hardly ever watch the new unless you’re building something. I think the sales videos are useful when it’s a great sale but otherwise not interested unless it applies to a build. Maybe make it a separate channel even with links to it in build videos.
