    I went to my interview on Jan 22nd 2020. I went by myself since my husband got deployed that same week. I took his orders with me. The interview took about 20 mins, it was very intimidating 😩 but at the end he approved it. I got my green card on Jan 31st 2020. I’m so happy 😭 good luck to all of you applying!

      How long did you wait for interview after marriage?

    • @Camila-SC
      @Camila-SC Před 4 lety +4

      lubitel klassnih klipov i got married in 2017 I had to applied for Parole In Place because I came into the country illegally when I was 12 yrs old. So I had to wait for that so I didn’t have to go for my interview to my birth country. I applied for my green card in April of 2019. Surprisingly they gave me the green card for 10 yrs. supposedly if you apply before your two yr marriage anniversary they give you a conditional green card which is 2 yrs gc.

      @@GrayLawTV Can getting food stamps affect my wife's immigration status?
      i am a u.s citizen and my wife is an immigrant. i recently applied for food stamps and was wondering if that will affect my wife in anyway when we begin the process of getting her residency here in california

    • @holyholyholy40
      @holyholyholy40 Před 4 lety +1

      @@omo479 I am not a lawyer, however I believe that any federal government assistance that you or your wife gets can be a dismissive reason to reject your application, or if they don't dismiss it then they will ask you to pay back how much you saved back to the Government, part of the semi-recent Trump Immigration rules. So any government assistance I'd recommend to get off now and see weather you can pay back what you saved with any government assistance.

    My advice to anyone that marries an immigrant is can the two of you afford a lawyer ? There are various forms to fill out and you need some legal advice. There are some few legal services that can be of help. Yes you can download the forms and do it yourself but be sure to fill out the forms correctly.

    While these videos are great, they always seem to assume that you’re applying for an adjustment of status and that your spouse lives with you in the US. I’ve been married for two years but we haven’t been able to live together because my husband is not a US resident. I can’t put him on my lease and we were not able to open a joint account, we’ve tried. I would love to see one of these videos aimed at couples like us. What type of questions do we get asked? How do you prove the validity of your marriage to an immigration officer when you have to live in different countries due to immigration laws?

I already knew before I went that if they started asking really invasive questions like that that I'd state I wasn't comfortable answering questions like that and ask for a supervisor if they kept pressing. They don't need to ask vulgar questions to validate your relationship and that is really gross and inappropriate

    My husband and I (a DACA recipient) have been married for a year and 6 months, and we were leaving in our own apartment, but my husband lost his job 8 months ago and we had to move in with my parents, and I actually just quit my 12 hour /6 days a week job because it was just too much, my husband is working a seasonal job right now and I'm looking to go back to school. What if we dont really have any join documents other than the join taxes , our old lease agreement, and a joined back account. Should we put one of the Bills at my parents house with both our names? Do we need more documents than what we already have? .
    we truly love each other, but because of our financial situation we haven't been able to apply for a spouse visa, or even get informed with a lawyer about what the process would be like. Your videos are so helpful, thank you so much. 😊

    If a person is undocumented since youth(brought to USA by undocumented parents), then what is process of getting
    a work permit, green card like? What are risks and waiting time, and any legal risk to a US citizen who marry that person?
    I know this is very difficult and long with no quarantee of results that a couple has to go through.
    An undocumented also have to go outside USA and wait 3-10 years correct for illegal overstay in USA, but some people say, one does
    not have to go out and can stay in USA (after marry) and work, and apply for a green card here.
    2nd question, for a RN lincensed graduate from US college here with undocumented status, how does one land a RN job?
    Is finding a company/hospitals that will sponsor an undocumented RN graduate is easy and good only option(besides marry an USA
    citizen)?

      you don't have to be together she missed that part if you guys don't live in the same country then the petitioner doesn't need to attend only the person who needs the green card visa. if you both are in the us tho then you do need to attend together but that's a whole different interview that's a adjustment of status interview for which is only required if you're married for less then 2 years at the time of the visa so when the spouse gets in the country and there's 2 years i think before you have to apply for a adjustment of status which is the interview she is talking about which doesn't apply to you yet. it'll apply to you in the future tho if your wife gets a CR1 which is a conditional visa and a IR1 which is intermediate visa

    Hi there, thanks for the great video. I have my interview coming soon. In terms of joint documents obviously I as the applicant I’m not working so would it still makes sense for my husband to add me on his lease even though I’m not contributing anything financially or his mortgage bill? I am on his health and credit card and life insurance but when it comes to anything that requires me to contribute money unfortunately I am currently not working because I’m not allowed to so how do we go about that. Thank you

      Bring a person able to speak english fluently with you, it can be a friend (they do not recommend family because the might add or say things for you) older than 18. Or find an interpreter and pay for the service.

      KitKat says GAME there’s a bank within Walmart who allowed my husband to be on my account without a social... it’s woodforest I think Wells Fargo helps u out as well. As long as your husband has a SS# they should allow it.

      KitKat says GAME I went into woodforest and I told him he didn’t have a SS# and he had only a Mexico passport at the time and they took that... just take some form of ID and have your husband go with you. It should take no more than an hour.

      I also listed him on my auto insurance they allowed me to even though he doesn’t currently have a drivers license (waiting for his SS# to arrive). That’s another thing u can do as a form of documentation for joint assets. They use his Mexico passport as well.
