    My lawyer put all our documents in order in a document box, and we just brought the whole box. It even included our wedding album. We were scared but it went well. That was in 2000.

    it took me 7 yrs to get my green card and I am an a citizen now and been here for 21 yrs. I was asked about date of marriage and it was just about 5 questions and done.

    what kinds of questions do they ask if your spouse is living out of the country ? what kind of questions do they ask to prove a real marriage? my husband is overseas we got approved and we are submitting paperwork now to get ready for the interview process but we don't live together.

    Is there any video of you about, I-130 interview? My spouse live overseas, and I just got my approval for I-130. I paid the $120 and $325 fees. Next step is to get the sponsor form? Submit all the documents. So since I live here in US and she live overseas. What happens when she get interview at the embassy overseas? Should I go overseas and also attend the interview? Would the let me in? My spouse does not speak English as well? Thank you 🙏🏼

      Not knowing something is not an automatic fail. The main thing is tell the truth. Our interview was back in 2000, but sounds like things have not changed much.

    My spouse and I have been married for 7 years and we are still in the process of trying to get legal residence status. The amount of time and cost in this is ridiculous. I am thinking he should have just gone back to Mexico and waited out the ten year ban...it seems the amount of time is going to be the same.

      Our govt is wholly inefficient and backlogged. This is just a fact of life. My only advice is to communicate and wait. I have dealt with this on many levels, and it is always ongoing. Ce la vi

    Hello. I got here at 13 years old in 2005. I graduated high school in 2010. Also in 2010 i had a hit and run incident. Sentenced to 90 days in jail which i served through work alternative program. I recently got married to a US citizen but we have been together since 2012. We have 2 kids. I would like to know what are my chances on becoming a resident and what problems can I encounter along the way. Thank you.

      This would be consular processing, since you don't both live in America, no? That is a different process than both spouses living together in the US, where they'd both be interviewed together at a USCIS office in the States

      I am not an attorney but I do know that once you are married and your spouse files for you your work history whether legal or not becomes a non-issue.

    My sister ‘s husband didn’t get the right name of my sister’s girlfriend that she was living with on first day of their outing that he parked his car outside and he said he met her once but my sister said multiple times in church but she introduced her friend once to her husband is that a marriage fraud but they got all questions correctly because they were both separated by the officer after they Took the oath to be interviewed
    Finally the officer told them they will hear from Uscis with 2-3 weeks is that a sign of approval

      Hi Ashoori I thank God for men like u who has taken our plight. My wife and I r married for two years since the death of my 46yrs of marriage. I’ve filled for my wife but because of my 2 strikes I’m waiting for approval or a date for my wife since before COVID. I filed all documents they need of cases but I have not heard any thing. She was given a work permit and extended her stay here but time is running out. What can or should I do.
      I’m 74 and my 79. I’m a naturalized citizen.

      The process is generally the same if you are a LPR (Lawful Permanent Resident, ie green card holder) with a foreign spouse. Just file a Petition with USCIS for an IV or NIV (Immigrant Visa or Non-Immigrant Visa). All of this info is on US govt websites, and there are many

    What if your spouse came up on a k1 visa and didnt get a social security number yet how can i put him on a lease or bills if he has nothing yet.

      You can add your spouse to your lease as an “ occupant” if lease company give you a problem with that. You can call utility companies and just add your spouse name they will not ask for SS#.

      @@tiyamika.yawawa1205 No, I had to get a new one at my embassy. It’s hard to recover original documents from USCIS, the easiest way was getting a new passport.

      They will allow you provide it AFTER the interview (which they do not tell you at first), BUT you must provide all original requested documents and copies as instructed as best you can, and it will delay your case or result in dismissal.

      Then you must get married and obtain one, or apply for the K-1 Fiance Visa if you intend to marry in the US. The USA does not recognize foreign marriages for some reason, but proof of relationship and foreign certs are good enough

      From the moment you file for residence, you must wait 2 years and at the end of that time the process to become a citizen takes up to a year, so you’re looking at roughly 3 years from the moment you file until you’re a U.S. citizen. Consult a lawyer for actual legal advice.

      The spouse is not required to be at the interview. This is YOUR interview. You must review the relevant govt websites and follow the instructions. This will depend on your location (are you in US or abroad) and your communication with the proper entity. If your spouse is deployed, you need their orders proving such.

    i think a friend of my mine was wrongfully denied adjustment. the Denial letter stated the two reasons as 1. she didnt explain well enough how she came into the country, but she came into the us at age 10.
    2. was she couldn't prove that she was in the US at exactly dec 2000, but she has school and medical records from 1993 to 2015

      Appeal upon just getting an hour consultation of your case , the Appeal option to is usually within 30days of receiving the notice and state the reason as why you think, which is you gave documents
