      @Mantas Pavardė People can have different opinions than you and it's okay, dude. And it can be 'offensive' in terms of poor dialogue, terrible humor, botching the mythology (very important to fans, and really, what kind of stupid macguffin magically brings a soda machine to life), spending that much money on a film that won't even be a single person's favorite movie, how terribly Michael Bay treated Megan Fox while filming ... need I go on?
      No, it's not the worst movie in the world. I thought it was okay. But compared to other Transformers works, it's a mediocre piece of shit with an eternal erection for the US military and an irrational aversion to character development, coherent plots, logic and intelligence. Calling it the best Bay Transformers is a bit misleading. I and many prefer to think of it as the least flawed.

    According to Megan Fox, she was attending a Linkin Park concert and when it was over, the band met her personally and stated that they heard about the live-action "Transformers" film, and requested whether they could have a song of theirs in the film, and thus "What I've Done" appears in the closing credits.

      Bumblebee transforms into two versions of Chevrolet Camaro muscle car rather than a Volkswagen Beetle hatchback car.

      Ratchet transforms into a green Hummer H2 SUV with red/white stripes rather than a white emergency van with red stripes.
      Jazz transforms into a custom silver Pontiac Solstice that lacks race decals rather than a white Porsche race car with race decals.
      Megatron transforms into a Cybertronian jet rather than a gun/tank.

    Fantastic review. Tomorrow is this movie's 10 year anniversary. I saw this movie in the Theater, and it blew my mind back in the day, with the visual effects and action. This movie was ironically how I got into Transformers, since I barely seen the cartoon (aside from some anime series that aired on "Toonami"), nor seen the original 1986 movie. I haven't seen this movie in years, but I may give it another watch sometime. Seeing how the latest "Transformers" movie isn't doing to hot domestically at the box-office, I think the time might be right for a full series reboot, with a new director and writers of course. As much as personally enjoyed the first three movies (they really should've stopped after the third one), the latest film continued with same trends, so much so you could make a drinking game out of it, but I wouldn't recommend it, and I have yet to see the new film. Dug the use of the Lion "Transformers" theme at the end. That was awesome.

While some of the shots are "too close up" the majority of the action is awesome to look at and without Bay we never would have gotten what I consider to be the coolest action moment in cinema. That iconic shot of Ironhide using his rockets to propel himself in the air to dodge enemy fire and the shot where he spins in mid air to dodge the tank missiles while returning fire. When I think EPIC, I think of those moments.

    I think one argument of lack of screen time for the transformer's is the expense and time it takes to animate them. I read post production on each of them is a max of 6 month's where normally other big budget ones have a year or even longer because huge effects they have to do. Maybe now the films are in different hands they will give more time to include them more ☺

    It's crazy that Golden Compass beat Transformers for best special effects. The effects in Golden Compass were probably its greatest weakness

  • @MDthornton83
    @MDthornton83 Před 7 lety +59

    "It's apparent that Michael Bay is far more interested in the military aspect, and Sam and his family." In other words, Michael Bay doesn't care about the Transformers. And he doesn't care about the source material. But now that he sees it as an incredibly easy way to make money, he's just not going to stop.

    • @MDthornton83
      @MDthornton83 Před 7 lety +4

      That makes sense.

    • @robertsavageau112
      @robertsavageau112 Před 6 lety +3

      MDthornton83 If he doesn't care about the franchise than he wouldn't have asked or hired Peter Cullen to reprise his role as Optimus Prime.

    • @MDthornton83
      @MDthornton83 Před 6 lety +4

      That doesn't mean jack shit. Getting Peter Cullen to reprise his role as Optimus Prime does not automatically make the movies better. If the movies are written, executed, and handled poorly, then that is a waste of talent. And Peter Cullen's talents are wasted in these movies. So no, Michael Bay DOES NOT CARE about the Transformers. The only reason he continues to make them to this day is for the money. He doesn't give a shit about what the fans want. He's just doing this to make a buck. In other words, money is ALL people care about these days.

    • @robertsavageau112
      @robertsavageau112 Před 6 lety +2

      MDthornton83 First of Peter Cullen is not wasted in these movies because he is the main autobot in the movies besides bumblebee and he is also all over the marketing campaign. Secondly Michael Bay may just be in for the money but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about the franchise because he does care about the people he works with and he also has been trying to leave the franchise after Dark Of The Moon so even if you hate Michael Bay he will no longer direct any more movies and we'll get new directors.

    • @MDthornton83
      @MDthornton83 Před 6 lety +1

      Dude, you're preaching to the chore. Just because I don't like Michael Bay doesn't mean he's going to stop for anything. He's going to do whatever he wants to. So more power to him. And you say Cullen's talent is not wasted? If only you knew how wrong you are, sir. Especially considering that the movies have almost NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSFORMERS. In fact, the movies are barely even about the Transformers at all. They fail on almost every aspect. Especially when it comes to focus and consistency. The only thing that makes them so successful is that they make MONEY. And like I said before, Bay is NOT going to stop doing what he's doing as long as its for the money. But at this point in time, I've pretty much lost faith in the Bayformers series. They've become so predictable. Sexual humor that's not funny, countless filler scenes that have nothing to do with the titular robots, choosing to focus on characters who nobody cares about, its a mess. You can say whatever you want. But I stand by what I say. A bad movie is a bad movie no matter what excuses you make for it. And that stuff about Michael Bay stepping down and wanting to leave, that could be just a hoax. And I don't think it would be that hard just to leave the franchise. But that's not going to happen anytime soon. And I am convinced that there will NEVER be another good Transformers movie. EVER. Until the day comes when someone proves me wrong, my point remains valid. Period.

    The criticism is noted but all 5 movies are amazing technical achievements. They're filmed on location with extensive use of practical effects, combined with ray-traced cg and some of the best blue screen shots I've seen to date (so many modern movies just look like they shot the actors in a tiny room like it's a sitcom, then they remove the blue screen and add in a giant mountain or an alien planet etc). Transformers is what a blockbuster movie should be, and what they used to be-- despite the tone, subject matter and Bay's personality that people object to

    As much as people complain about the focus on the human characters, I think my favorite thing about it is how it slowly wades into the transformers side of the pool, so to speak. We get brief action scenes interspersed with a mostly human perspective at the start, and bit by bit the narrative peels away the seemingly mundane surroundings to uncover a mysterious alien presence and eventually marvel at the heroes and villains from Cybertron. The Arrival to Earth sequence is breathtaking in every aspect.
