Danny Ric didn’t want to admit to himself that he was the number 2 driver. Fair one, I wouldn’t either and would have left. Max’s edge is often helping hands from the team, without those helps Max would be much more like everyone else. Danny Ric knew he could not influence those helps, so it’s a no brainier to leave.

At RB, Max's data can be viewed by any other RB driver, which means he would not be better than anyone else. Season 2020 Max fought both Mercedes, the others against themselves. It's like that, would be Ham. 7x World Champion if Mercedes hadn't had a good policy of freezing F1 engines in the hybrid era and allowing some conversions through tokens. So nobody can catch up or Nico has the back from Merc. like Ham. it had? Thats F1 only 22 seats for 30 maybe 40 driver, its not a petting zoo.

Bull sh!t on both drivers. Ferrari had to step up and change their car to get better results. This was for Vettel who was at that point the number one driver a car he could not handle and Leclerc had no problems with this.
Danny Ric saw Max come closer and closer every year, the first time Max got into that RB and won the grandprix of Barcelona said it all. That car was not made for Max and never was.
I saw an interview with another F1 driver that was invited to speak with Sir Adrian Newey, the driver made some remarks for changes and Newey replied. I know what we need to change, aiming at the part where the driver sits. And guess what, the driver did not get a spot on the team he got directly replaced. He designs the cars and as driver you need to drive them end of discussion.

Max is the youngest F1 driver, the youngest F1 podium sitter and the youngest race winner. But he isn't the youngest pole sitter and that's because in 2018, while Max often out qualified Ricciardo, whenever they were at a track where the Red Bull was superior, Danny Ric put his car on pole. Most notably Monte Carlo and Mexico City. Max had provisional pole in Mexico, and would have become the youngest pole sitter, but Daniel snatched it away.

Love how they’re constantly referred to as the greatest drivers in the world, but then when paid millions to switch to a new team we’re supposed to give them a pass for coming up to speed on a new car? Seriously?! You’re either one of the greatest or your not. That simple. I’m so sick of Ricciardo. You’re not as fast as Max. Deal with it.

  • @NotAfraidToQuestionThings

Ricciardo spent years at Red Bull hoping they would make the car competitive enough to challenge for the world title. At some point he's paired up with Verstappen and no matter the reason (I think it's because Verstappen is a faster driver) he figures out that he will never be able to beat his team mate over the course of a whole season so now he knows that even if Red Bull develops the fastest car he will always still be runner up in the world championship in the best case scenario.
Only way to try and become a world champion: go drive for a different team than Max and hope your car is much better than the Red Bull. It's a gamble. A gamble that anyone would make given his situation. Didn't pay off yet but who knows.
