We can also be friends! Cause I feel this notion so much aha, especially surrounding deep conversations as none of my current friends want to have those and often the conversations are very surface level and I sometimes wish they were a lot deeper 😅
Edit: but I’m also naturally an introvert, so this can be difficult for me, so I get a lot of my deep thoughts in novels and media etc. :)

Also both of you are so valid, nice to see you reflecting on your sex lives and how you want to change them, but also you are good where you are at. Don't feel pressured to change either, just go with what seems best, don't compare to anyone else. Nice to see women talk about sex, often treated as a taboo for us.

as someone who also just entered her celibate era i feel so validated lol. i realized my recent dating experiences (primarily related to sex on the first date) are never fulfilling to me and i never feel good after and i am so ready to delete all my apps and just live a cute little celibate life!! i totally agree that i need to admire and respect and trust the other person for it to work and that takes time. thank u love these sleepover sessions ❤️❤️

i’m 19 now and have been celibate for over a year, it’s been the most transformative year and I’ve grown immensely and it’s helped me to be my own “self start car” heh. The chapter of mothers not being emotionally available hit way too close to home. I try take a step back to remind myself what my mother went through as a child and why she responds in different ways. However, I am only human and it can get frustrating at times
It’s very frustrating.... but we have to learn to let go. It’s been a lot easier this way
I feel like Anya and I have a lot of similarities with being raised really religious and then becoming really comfortable with sexual experiences, and how animated and excited she gets and she talks also reminds me of myself I just love her she's great, keep her around forever Leah 💕

this video is so transformative for me. watching this after watching your 'year of celibacy of intimacy' video just feels so illucidating, like this is the type of raw and intimate friendship that i could cultivate with a disciplined focus on my self without relationships and sex. your connection with anja is just so beautiful and this conversation between you two inspires me so profoundly.
Wow everything that you expressed, Leah, about your attraction to someone you admire, how you feel about sharing your body, and then when you're with someone just wanting to be like rabbits.. basically summed everything that I feel about intimacy and relationships perfectly. And I've always struggled to articulate it! My first serious relationship in high school was much the same... I was a pretty serious student but then when I met my boyfriend in high school, I really admired how he was able to enjoy life and just not care about things. I started to cut class with him a lot and he taught me how to love adventure and spontaneity. And now I've been struggling to know why I just don't feel any attraction towards guys who are attracted to me and it's because rarely ever is there something about them that I feel I can really admire and look up to and appreciate... It's always been really flat connections since my high school boyfriend and I've just been looking to find somebody I can feel that way towards.
Incidentally, I am also having my year of celibacy... It's really hard, because I crave intimacy and connection, but I know that I cannot just settle for shallow connections that ultimately mean nothing to either party.. or even one-sidedness. I want all in or none!

i loved all of the topics you girls talked about, i felt understood and saw myself in some of the behaviors and stories and insecurities you talked about. Also the kissing consent at the end was the cherry on top, last month for the first time ever i realized how important it is to me, after an unexpected and uncomfortable event w a dude happened to me where he (TW) shoved his tongue down my throat while we were dancing and i felt so violated, and i took it as assault cuz it felt like it and i cried on the way home and the day after i felt disgusting and awful, so yeah the moral of the story is that consent is HOT and respectful.

I’ve never had sex at 22 and my current relationship is an ldr so it can be so hard to crave someone sexually. But it’s also given me so much emotional clarity over the years. If you pay attention to your body, learn what you love, take yourself on dates, reflect on how you treat others, I imagine that celibacy would be a fantastic way for a lot of people to grow
I related a lotto the push start car analogy and I am in an amazing long term relationship. I haven’t had much time being single in my life but I’m trying to learn these same lessons without breaking up with my partner. It’s a very interesting time for sure. Lots of therapy!

38:81 I find this so interesting, as someone with an Asian background sometimes I wonder how I find Asian content creators that act so spontaneous, and share things like sex or night life online, knowing how Asian parents can be. To hear that you were raised by a single parent, and to also hear how she acts around you getting emotional was very eye opening. I guess kind of like "I guess it's all similar" and the wonder if you just are in life as you are, taking it by one by one, if any of that makes sense? I just think a lot about how my choices will be perceived to others, especially by Asian family when I have a western and liberal mind set. Kind of reminds me of how Anja talked about shame and church.
