- I need a quick and easy to install door to block off this room from Sammy (cat). After some research, sellted on this bifold louver door from Veranda. It ended up being a little more involved than i had hoped, but it got the job done.
The detailed explanation was wonderful, thank you❤
Glad it was helpful!

I wonder what would you advise for the case, when the target is the in-wall closet. It is 1cm narrower than the Veranda door (35" vs 36") and I cannot do what you did - extend the door jamb. It is a fixed size niche...
Well, you said 1cm but then gave measurements in inches, so I am going with a 1 inch difference. Unfortuantely, these doors do not have a lot of extra wood around the sides that you can trim off, and they are already pre drilled for the hinges and guide. If I absolutely had to trim some off, I would do it in the middle. Remove the hinges and trim 1/2" from each side and then put the hinges back on. You might be able to trim a small amout 1/8" or so from the outsides, if 1/2" is too much to remove from the middle. Just brainstorming. Hope it helped
Sammy seems like the sort of smart cat who will figure how to pull the center of the door.
Probably, but so far, it is working.
Sammy has now figured out how to open the door. I'll have to put some kind of a latch on it.
Was the height on original molding too small also?
No, the height was good. I actually could have lowered it a little. when I moved it forward, it was no longer over the sill. I had just enough adjustment in the hinge to make it work.
Im looking to remove the HARDWARE of a shutter closet door. Please anyone help!!
What is it that you need help with?
@@TheFixitShed i have the shutter closet doors and im looking to remove the hardware. The springy stuff
@@TheFixitShed do i use bolt cutters? Some kinda wrench?
Do the blinds open
Nope. The louvers have a fixed position
@@TheFixitShed dang I wanted to buy one
Crappy design. Hard to hang!
If the door frame was more standard size or the bi-folds had a bit more wood to work with, it would have been better, but over all, it wasn't too bad.
