Yellowbelly, Murray Cod And Carp Fishing

- I went yellowbelly fishing in a spot that I have caught yellowbelly, Murray cod, Macquarie Perch and carp in once before. I was hoping to catch a feed of yellowbelly. The fishing was red hot, but the size of the fish wasn't.

Everyone can agree that robbie is the best Aussie fisher.
Thank you so much for your kind words.
'Awesome! Looks like my kind of spot! Did you know Machette he doesn't text. 😁
Hahahaha have you seen that movie? It's an absolute classic. 🤣🤣
Robbie is like poutine. Robbie is wholesome and heart warming. Well the AB pack kind 😅haha
Haha thanks mate.
Eh!
Good to see the native fish thriving. Cheers Robbie
Thanks mate, it sure is a great sign.
Always a good day when the fish are active. Nice spot you made for yourself there.
Thanks mate. Haha it took a lot of work to clear that spot but was worth it.
great to see that the river is producing. love the content keep it up never be discouraged
Thank you so much mate.
You've definitely found the nursery mate! It's gonna be a great fishery for a long time by the looks of it. Well done good video
Thanks mate, I really hope so.
Robbie I love watching your content
Thank you so much Sam.
What’s your pb carp if you don’t mind me asking
Hi mate, I have caught 3 that measured 78cm. That's my.ifficisl nest and I've done it 3 times. I may have caught bigger years ago though, we never use to measure them back then.
Wow what a carp nice catch
Awesome! Will be great in the future when they're bigger 😁🎣
nice spot for young healthy fish mate , the future is good with what that spot is doing for us.
Thanks so much mate.
Great to see it’s not just the carp that we’re breeding during the floods nice job mate and great gardening cheers
Thanks so much Michael.
Great video Robbie thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for watching Kelvin..👍
So GOOD to see! Good job Robby!
Thanks UF. 👍👍
I reckon you're scaring the fish away with your jokes 😄
Hahaha quite likely. LOL 😂
Well done I have a heart attack if I did that lol lol.nice video champ cheers 👍
Haha thanks so much mate.
Love your videos espacially the yabby ones👍
Thank you so much mate.
Have. A good weekend.Þake care God bless.
Thank you so much Becky. I hope you have a great week too my friend. 🙏🙏🙏
🤣🤣🤣 i remember this spot. 50 meters right of the bank 😂 🌵🌵🌵 tangle central . Great video mate
Hahaha yep, that's the one. LOL 😂😂😂
This is where I went after I caught up with you blokes recently.
It's not to often that the natives out catch the carp. Great job Robbie 🍻🍻
Thanks so much mate.
Love you Robbie! Keep up the awesome fishing!❤
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Great video Robbie as always
not sure if you have heard of it but have you ever been fishing in Newbridge near Bendigo they were catching a heap of good sized cod up there. The season is closed now but would be worth a shot when the season opens again.
Thanks so much mate. I've heard of it but never fished it. 👍👍
Great video mate, that's my kinda spot sit relax and enjoy the surrounds. I remember the platypus last time you were there, good to see you did not go near that notorious blackberry 😅
Thanks so much mate. Hahaha yep, this is the spot where my super private blackberry tantrum video was filmed. LOL 😂😂😂😂😂
1:00 Better watch out Robbie. The Greens are gonna come after you now 😂
And watch out for that Carp-le tunnel syndrome 😁
Haha oh well, I'm pretty sure they would approve of many of my adventures. LOL
Beautiful little cod hole you’ve got there Robbie, keep going back and feeding em and getting rid of them carp!
Thanks mate, I definitely plan on getting back over there soon. We've had a lot of rain since I filmed this, but once the streams settle I will be back.
Hi Robbie. As usual a great video. I would be interested in watching a comparison video comparing 1 rod with a drop shot rig vs 1 with a Paternoster when fishing. I've just started to use the dropshot method, sometimes with a slow retrieve, and am surprised at the numbers of carp, redfin and yellowbelly I've caught. Keep up the good work. and beware the "nope ropes. (snakes).
Good one mate great to see some native fish 👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much Cam. 👍
Those yellas are awesome great colours all bodes well for the future great to the small cod It looks like the floods have done us a favour in that regard
Thanks so much Peter. I look forward to catching them again in a few years time hopefully.
Nice.
Bodes well for the future Robbie.
Thanks Phil, it sure does mate.
Awesome session Bro...
Thanks bro.
I remember this spot well, I think you might have even Seen a platypus there if I'm correct, if not I think it was the same video you saw a platypus anyway hahaha
Way to go once again Robbie gardening, I really need a machete for the streams, bloody black berries have ruined my waders....
This was the best mixed bag in a while mate, this spot is a ripper and I'm glad to see Murray's and yellas thriving in our waterways 👍
Baby fish are always a great sign
Thank you so much mate, and yep I sure did film a platypus here. Very well spotted mate. 👍👍
@@robbiefishing I thought that was the spot 👍
Love me machete hehe me too , good job brush cutting broom bush we keep the machete sharp .
Thanks mate. Haha It's hard to picture my life without a machete. LOL
What a cool little spot, nothing big but very entertaining.
Thanks so much Glen.
Great video mate I meant to say last night we'll said about our carp problem obviously the people who complain about the way you miss handle the carp they don't watch how you go out of your way to wet your hand and release our native fish with care
Thanks so much Jeff. I think what happens is that people on other countries don't realise just how much of a pest the carp are here.
Imagine if they had Murray cod in England eating all of their fish, I'm sure they would get the same treatment there that carp do here.
At least they could eat the cod though. LOL 😂
Thanks for sharing Mate! What a great nursery for native species with all that natural cover and the bridge , just a shame they have to compete with greedy fat Carp for the available food.
BTW fancy clearing my garden mate, your a dab hand with that machete haha:)
Hahaha thanks Robert. Have you seen the movie Machete? It's super gory and weak as water, but quite entertaining. I should have auditioned for it. Haha
I will have a look for it mate😊
Great video Robby today I went down and I only got one yellow belly
Thanks mate, and well done on your yellowbelly.
Hiya rob
Loved this one , it looks like one of my venues..
And a nice mix of fish.. well done mate ... rob what were the birds under the bridge, swallows ?...
Our population of swallow , swifts are just beginning to leave for warmer climates...autumn is here..
Thanks rob , hope your having a good day.
😎🏴🎣
Thank you so much Mike. Yep, they are welcome swallows. These ones don't migrate, well not from here anyway, they may do from cooler climates further south, I'm not sure.
We have a few different species of swallow here.
Looks hectic Yowie country
That's the real reason I had my machete. To keep the Howie's at bay.
Ripper cod mate If you’re looking for a surface lure for them, use a Shimano swim bait. But they’re pretty pricey around say 50 bucks, pretty expensive, but I’ve got my PB cod coming in at 1 m and 50 cm catch and release
Thanks mate. They sound great. 👍👍
You did more by cutting that tree than most local councils do in 6 months Robbie lol
Hahahaha that's so true. They wouldn't employ me... I have too much energy. 🤣🤣🤣
Dunno about you Robbie but the spring time yellowbelly have been on the bite for me up the spinner baits
Aaaaaaagh not the red and white bubble float.... you’ll soon have that sorted 😂😂😂
Hahaha I need to google "How to fish a waggler float" and then remember to put yours in my tackle box. I'm looking forward to giving them a go.
Keep an eye on your PO Box 😉
C'mon Robbie you could've whipper snipped the edges, & possibly laid some pavers leading to the "Water feature"😄
Hahaha I need to lift my game. LOL 😂😂
Top looking cray area. Were are the pots 😂. Nice.
Thanks Brett. The season is closed. Haha I have actually caught a couple of crayfish there in the past.
@@robbiefishing good sized cray and fish hard to find now days . Not like it was when we were kid's. Last fish 🐠 over 1.3m was a giant leather skin. Good to see yellowbelly bubs it is a wonder carp never ate them.
Nice topiary work at the start. Right now, I would love to land something other than 4 wheel drives (turtles), even a couple of mud marlins would be great.
4 wheel drives. Haha 😂😂😂😂 thanks mate. Turtles drive me crazy when I am fishing. LOL 😅
@@robbiefishing I went to one spot recently and the turtles were so thick there it didn't matter where I cast my bait, they would be there straight away. On the bright side though, I did see an eel and a catfish, so at least they are about.
Been distracted by life but back on you tube “catching” up on the vids great stuff Robbie
Thanks so much mate. I hope you are going OK..
8:55 my guess she’s full of eggs. Did you also see: once the native fish start to bite, the carp can tend to quiet down.
Super fun catching the small stuff knowing that the potential is there for them to grow and thrive
Thanks mate. What a great observation. I actually had not noticed that.
@@robbiefishing I’ve encountered this a lot myself. Caught some carp, quiet, then a cod or yella comes around.
Robbie if there is little fish there has to be bigger fish. So don’t give up on that spot.
Thanks Barry, I certainly won't be giving up on it mate, I love this spot.
What is this new First Person machete landscaping game? 😂
Hahahaha I love my machete. LOL
Shit glad you're not cutting my hair the way u swing that blade cheers from grumpy
Thanks Grumpy. Hahaha that could get nasty. LOL 😅
Hey Robby they now make cordless chainsaws save a lot of sweat
Haha I have one and love it. I don't usually take it fishing, maybe I should. I actually reviewed it on this channel. It's a Stihl Electric Chainsaw. It's a bloody ripper.
Lovely Robbie! That fat carp was pregnant probably, which is good because I've heard they lay like 300000 eggs... I also hit 70 subscribers! Not massive but it's an achievement for me. Thanks robbie❤
Thanks mate, and well done on your 70 subs. I am proud to say that I am one of them.
@@robbiefishing Haha thanks so much. Do you have any tips for CZcams or video ideas?
Hey Robbie
I am heading up to the Murray this weekend “tocumul”. Any reports on the river like is there any flood alerts. Also tips for bait for fishing in the Murray. I am mainly an estuary fisherman
Thanks Robbie
Love the channel
Hi mate, whatever you do, make sure you fish downstream of the Tocumwal Bridge. The river upstream is closed between Toc and Yarra I think.
I would definitely be using worms as bait.
As for the water levels they could be very high, possible even flooded. There's a near major flood pushing through the lower reaches of the Ovens River and I to Lake Mulwala right now.
@@robbiefishing thanks for the tips and
Update Robbie
Robbie bush whacking is back! ❤ well done sir great little spot I wonder what’s in that carps gut ? (Yabbies)? gee he was fat 😅
Thanks mate. Who knows. It could be yabbies, worms, mudeyes, water snails and anything else small and tasty. LOL
@@robbiefishing u should open up one for shits and giggles 🤭 could give u a bait idea
It depends on how much you want to carry but I'm surprised that you don't have a small bucket on a cord so you can wash or wet your hands....(like they have at golf courses for repairing divets. They're free if you're quick)
Yep, it all boils down to how much I want to carry. I already carry enough junk. LOL 😂
Well done Robbie, for not falling in😢.
Are you getting any shrimp or is it still to cold?
Thanks Gary. I caught a few up near Urana last week, but down here the river is so high that we can barely get near it. LOL
No offence robbie but you tell jokes like i fish.lol😊
Hahahaha
Great video. What area is this spot robbie ?
Thanks mate. I am in North East Victoria.
Hey bro a bucket on a rope and get a scoop of water when sitting around saves going down the bank to wet your hand or wash .😉
Hello robbie
Hi mate..
Hey mate I’ve been watching your videos for ages and love to watch you catch some beautiful fish over the last couple years, just wondering if you knew any good rivers for some skinny water fishing around the Wangaratta area, cheers mate love your stuff
i hope you catch more than carp
How does the flavour of yellow belly compare to Redfin ?
I prefer yellowbelly, as long as they're not too big because they get very fatty.
i find the fat pregnant carps are the ones that have the most energy and best fight
Absolutely, I agree 100% mate.
Your jokes are nearly as bad as mine. My favorite one is ----- "My fishing spots are so secret, even the fish dont know about them" . Anyway, were you trying to catch the fish, or knock them out with that float ? :)
Hahaha thanks mate. Yeah the float was a bit excessive, but it was great for my aging eyesight. LOL
Hi robbie should have left you my chainsaw to let you in to that spot
Haha thanks mate. Yeah it sure was overgrown. Thank the Lord for machete's. LOL 🤣
u need a chainsaw
I've got one. I just don't usually have it with me on fishing trips.
If you peed your pants, you could just touch your wet pants every time you caught a fish and couldn’t wet your hand.
LOL That'd probably work. LOL
@@robbiefishing you could use water too, but where would the fun be in that 😂 I thought that was pretty funny when I said that last night
I guess if you cut yourself doing that tree trimming, it wood be an axeident ......
Hahahaha 🤣🤣
OMGFrank😮
