The information I provide on this channel are from my personal experiences living amongst my Amish neighbors. Not every Amish community abides by the same rules or standard of living. Each community differs, but overall they live as simply as possible so they don't get caught up in the world.

    Dear Neighbour of the Amish,
Once again, an interesting video on the Amish and their produce. This is an important and growing way for the Amish to make a living. I am very glad to see this development among the Amish. It is one way they are able to sustain their way of life in the face of highly competitive mainstream practices.
Once again, thank you for your videos. They are always informative and inspiring.
    Sincerely,
    Larry Clarence Lewis

Oh, darn...I was hoping to see some potatoes. I bet they would be in great shape. I get so mad when I go to Walmart and their Russet's are in bad shape and have been getting rougher & rougher for a long time now. I love mashed potatoes with the skin on but the potatoes are so full of slices & bad spots that I have to peel almost every one. I'm gonna have to find where a farmers market is around here and just make myself take the time to go there when they are open. The closest Amish area is about one hour from me. I need to quit being so lazy...LOL..!!

A farmers market would be a great place to find some. There are "English"' that grow for the markets and the quality is just as good! I hope you are able to find one...get there early though. Every time I hit the farmers market all of the corn on the cob is gone...one of my favorites!

We have an Amish fruit and vegetables stand we buy all we don't grow in our garden from them. They have the prettiest vegetables and fruits I've ever seen and you can't beat the prices either.

I think its the extra TLC they give their garden! Flower gardens are just as beautiful!

Verty interesting, but what about ‘ let the cat out of the bag/pig in a poke’.

Not any of my neighbors that I know of. They use fish fertilizer...one neighbor has a business selling his product to everyone else. The bad thing is that an English farm down the street may spary chemicals on a windy day...and that's not good for anyone.
