I really like the way you interview people. When you ask someone a question and they get excited to answer it, you know they're not being asked that same question by a hundred other interviewers.
These were never leaks to begin with. Chris Anthony mentioned Easter Eggs at the beginning of the Investor Webinar.
Yeah… well, whatever helps get clicks and spreads solar mobility I guess….
@@mrhobs Fair enough
@@mrhobsclicks and money, that's all they are interested in.
@@bluetoad2668 and just imagine how many clicks and money they'll get when they go into production!

I love Tailosive’s Aptera coverage. I can’t wait for them to come to market!
The pickup should have accent lines that mimic the current vehicle making it an obvious Aptera offshoot.
It is a great point, that the truck, sedan, crossover, etc, is only one solution to the specific # of passengers/weight/torque capability problems. The designs/form factors are not and should not be taken as the end-all-be-all, and that Aptera's goal is to find a more optimized, efficient solution to these problems, which had led them to challenge their design vision in the first place. This is super exciting to hear!
Exciting to see a company put a lot of thought and care into their core values and design philosophy… we don’t get a lot of that these days in America it seems. People seem to hate Apple, but I’m proud of them too for actually having some care and culture. (Comparing them to the Western gaming industry… all knee jerk reactions and weird agendas.)
Nice! I think there are still a lot of innovations that could be made within the two wheel space. I have seen vehicles that can vary their wheel breadth. It would be useful if an Aptera could narrow its front wheel breadth for certain situations, say for lower speed driving on narrow roads, or certain parking situations. This innovation could expand Aptera's marketability. I am always a fan of removable battery modules that can double as home energy 'power wall' like applications. So an owner can gain efficiency day to day by sizing their mobile battery for that day's needs instead of always lugging around dead weight battery modules sized for their peak range needs.
I agree that the issue of Aptera being just a two-seater is not as significant as many believe, such as you can't fit your whole family in an Aptera. Fun fact -- the average size family in the US is 2.3 people and falling. Most couples opt for just having a dog, and there is plenty of room for Fido.
would love an aptera motorcycle. WRT the cargo/delivery... having a "user" come up and get their delivery is soley dependent on the need for the user to be home. which I would beg to say most people aren't home (work/school/vacation/errands)
Nice job. The front-end design (and lights, and wheels) at 17:18 is so nice.
Wow, thanks for reading my comment! However, the last car I designed wound up on The Simpsons.
Around 7 mins in when he's being general about 'other categories' I think he was hinting at lightweight aircraft
Lightweight and batteries don't go together.
Thanks Drew/Jason for this share.
Re brand identity with look. I think of JEEP and how it started with the military Willie Jeep look ,which the models still retain.
So I can imagine “Aptera’s timeless look” in forms for the future vehicles. The first, an auto-cycle, sometimes called a Roadster or Coupe and rightfully earned….as it looks more like a car than something we will register as a motorcycle !
My feeling on when Aptera can reach making a Truck like a Pick Up… TRUCK is a hard word appropriate for that rectangular BRICK - shaped vehicle used to transport supplies but… The Unique Aptera model should have a Unique Name like Supply Transporter or Vessel !😉
A pickup with in-wheel motors could have a remarkably low loading height. With that as the target the frontal area could be minimized.
With adjustable air suspension a low loading height / traveling height coupled with high ground clearance when necessary would be ideal. Then you get the benefit of both efficiency and utility in one package.
Maybe with the semi concept, the solar panels could be used to charge supercapacitors while in motion and rapidly discharge those supercaps when accelerating for high torque from dead start without stressing the main batteries. That should increase efficiency a lot.
About the discussion of the pick-up, they should make two types. A more traditional style pickup with a focus on capability and offroad as well as an Australian style "ute" with a focus on efficiency.
3:34 yeah I think people will understand that, just like you don’t expect a minivan to be as efficient as a sedan, a higher seat capacity version will not be as efficient as the 2 seater. And that’s fine because it will still be better than other sedan EVs on the market
The air dynamic fenders/wheel coverings are so close to the ground. I look at that part of the design and expect they will scrape the ground and possibly get damaged at the beginning and ends of hills, by curbs and other structures when parking, and the change in grade at the entrance and exits at parking lots.
It would be fun to see them re-imagine the Roustabout Trivan.
A SMALL pickup truck (like the Telo) is what is desired by many. In addition, 4+ passenger is desired by the populace. Nice work Drew! Thank you!!!
Thanks for posting… though not much revealed about job one: Getting the Aptera Roadster delivered.
In vehicles over 25 years old the highest value is usualy in the 2 door models.
We're talking about an autobike
How about protections during vehicle crashes. How well do you expect it to perform in crash testing?
think i saw a tow hitch, whats the towing capacity?
It would be great if they would adapt all the video cameras that are already in place to add in a parking sentry mode and travel mode recording system. Tied into the solar charging it would be powered Easly I would think. Still would need to add a forward camera.
@6:47 Poly Drops
Wow. Thanks Drew and Jason.
Please if you get the opportunity ask about the motors. Many in the community are concerned.
A Semi would still have issue of weight of the packages as oppose to an empty trailer. Solar would only offer little range.
I'm imagining a semi that has some sort of deployable solar that rolls down the top of the trailer. Can't use it in every situation, but that would be a ton of solar in cases where you can use it
Thank you for this video! You and the community asked great questions.
lol cut off at 16:00 -.-
streamlined box truck? semi is inherently hard to make efficient, but a single frame truck you can make a teardrop shape more easily, with a bit of inventiveness for the rear door or ramp
If you don’t offer any long term vision, people get upset.
If you do provide a long term vision, people get upset.
Any questions? 😏
Who is upset?
@@jayp.4381 People, always.
If you never deliver a vehicle people get upset..... naaa, I'm kidding, they give you more money 😂
@@bluetoad2668 No risk, no reward. This guy goes to the casino just to root for the house.
@@bluetoad2668when did they give an exact date for delivery that wasn’t met? Because they’ve always said it will happen once certain goals are met. And now they have US capital looking to fund the entire remaining needed funds. And their estimate is that production can start 9 months after that. Just because you can’t read doesn’t mean they are a scam
Please offer the steering wheel shown for a center driven vehicle as an option on the Aptera.
a good steering wheel that doesn’t fly off while you’re driving!
No risk of Osborne effect for the three wheeler if to many other Aptera concepts are out there?
Osborne effect refers to a new platform coming soon. These concepts are at least 7-10 years away. You shouldn't wait for them if you want an Aptera
Oh come on! Anybody who wants to add a 4th wheel and more weight must know that an additional tire will add 25% more friction and cause the current platform to loose efficiency.
a great question to ask would be: Typically designs are designed to be 100 percent efficient based on a certain speed. What is the most efficient speed of the aptera based on its shape? Is that 30 or is it 60?
I remember reading it was “highway speeds” so I’d guess 60, though that’s not really Highway speeds nowadays. Most highways I’ve been on are 75
I'd like to see light fleet vehicles like USPS mail trucks being solar powered.
What if Aptera motors never inform the public on the progress, would this delay or progress production?
I love the Aptera, but one thing I'm curious about. When we say Aptera, we think of the 3-wheeled vehicle, right? But is that not the company name? Or is both the company and the 3-wheeled vehicle both called Aptera? What would you call a pickup truck made by Aptera? Would it too be called Aptera? 🤔
Look at any other company that makes vehicles and they have the company name and then a name per vehicle model. Will the Aptera as we know it, the 3-wheeled vehicle, still be called Aptera when it starts being manufactured for consumers?
Some have referred to this model as the Aptera Roadster. Nothing official on this to my knowledge, though; I expect it will just be "the Aptera" until a second model is in development.
This model is called "Autocycle" I believe
@@aebisdecunter Autocycle is the body style, like sedan vs coupe. It is also a legal term that separates it from an automobile from a federal regulation standpoint.
You should do the same question to Tesla and the Cybertruck
Aptera is both the name of the vehicle and the name of the company. In the future different variants are expected to have their own name.
It's possible the autocycle will develop an unofficial name of its own. But the company intends to be named after the vehicle that got them off the ground.
I sure hope pickups aren't the priority
A semi has a huge area for solar will reduce energy use by 10-20% if traveling an average of 300 miles per work day. That is still moving the needle. The tricky thing with a semi is that it is part of the trailer rather than the main vehicle so logistics is trickier because it isnt part of the core vehicle (without odd engineering). The area of a semi trailer can add ~45 kwh per day.
Cab fitted with a rollout solar cover that’s easily but securely fitted to the trailer would be worth exploring.
@@gr8dvd its quite high in the air and we are talking about 40x8.5 ft of solar. Even lightweight/flexible solar in this amount would be quite heavy.
Hope Aptera is going to Europe. 🤸
Happy we have you covering Aptera news and doing interviews , you do a much better job with the questions then AOC imo.
When will I be able to charge the battery while driving? I could charge a battery in my apartment when street charging isn't available and then plug it in and drive to work.
Reality check. Aptera has burned thru over $100,000,000 and not built one Aptera for customers.
Lets go back a few years to at least a square steering wheel
Aptera ön roads, just a few decade
Okay, next time you talk to Aptera, here's what I want to you to suggest to them:
czcams.com/video/hquV8QB8xtk/video.html&ab_channel=NickF.Gigante
That is an *old* video about the GM concept car, "Lean Machine." The video production is laughably dated, but I've been wanting an electric version of this vehicle for decades, since I first saw it at EPCOT. Yes, I know, it holds just one person... but that's all I need for my daily commute. Small, super aerodynamic, and hopefully reasonably priced. I'd made some changes in the design, such as the canopy might slide back instead of the way they show it, for space considerations and to allow an open-air driving option. Don't give me more seats, give me fewer.
Their second model needs to be a 4 wheeled 4 door version of the current Aptera. Same design styling just make it fit more people. TBH most of those other designs are quite ugly and do not feel like Aptera. You stand out right now as a brand, don't lose that otherwise you will loose your market differentiator allure.
So, Jason Hill, another guy who was with Aptera the first time around back in 2006 - 2009. Interesting.
Thank you Drew and Jason for this interview.
Fun discussion, thank you Drew and Jason!

Great interview I’m impressed with the whole thing
Crowdfund Insider issues warning to Aptera investors, company in trouble, overvalued, still no deliveries.
They already announced they are no longer doing crowdfunding and will be funded by US Capital.
@@OctagonalSquare Right, so you should demand a refund now before its too late.
Really needs four wheel for winter driving, you never keep up to others on snow covered roads
They do 3 wheel so they don’t have to crash test the vehicle (it’s a motorcycle!) - this is a prototype company - it won’t scale.
I am a huge fan, supporter and investor in Aptera with a good position in the Accelerator program. I am very upset that the clickbait title of this video is "Aptera Design Chief Addresses Leaks!" THIS IS VERY MISLEADING AND A DOWNRIGHT LIE!! At NO POINT in the video does Jason talk about leaks of anything secret, proprietary or rumors and speculations. I normally after seeing such lying clickbatin immediatly BLOCK all future vids from this creator. I do enjoy Tailosive's opinions and interviews and analysis of information available from his various Aptera info-sources so I'm considering violating my own policy. But PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't do a clickbaitn misleading, untruthful vid-title like this one again.

The side horizontal split windows are still just silly and ruin the design.

Hardly. You’re in it when you ship it. You’re in the “need money” business.
This car is DOA. Keep that in mind when promoting it that if it fails and people lose money....you are young and useful and they don't care what happens to you.

Aptera feels like a crypto scam. I see all the signs but everyone else still feels they are going to strike it rich. The guy couldn’t even finish the interview? They are not that busy trust me. That’s chaos.
