Great video John!! It's always nice to see my fellow CZcamsr colleagues validate what I have been witnessing as well. Turtle Wax has made a great comeback in the past few years and they are serious competitors now. Seal N Shine is such a value for money, and I'm glad to see that you had the gloss meter readings that confirmed what I thought about Ceramic Spray Coating. In my testing, my eyes were telling me that is was slightly glossier compared to Seal N Shine, and this now confirms that I am not crazy. LOL

This is gonna be a popular product Pan. in the UK the seal and shine is currently being sold for £3.55. So the people that dont buy into the "ceramic" stuff can bypass it and still have a very durable glossy product with seal and shine/sealant hydrophobic wax. but those that try the Ceramic Spray I think they are gonna appreciate the wow factor. Just how the car looks and feels after application (yes other SI02 sprays have the wow factor but not with the same durability)
its been a while since doing the testing.. On the golf Im noticing the slickness and gloss is lasting out really well and its so very easy to apply. I think its gonna go down well.. Ive tested the wet wax I just need to test the other ones.. but looks like a job well done.. lets hope they unveil some more products next year same time and place!!!! :)

Use the Turtle Wax Ceramic "1 Step" (yellow hybrid bottle) for the best price to performance results. Don't use it as instructed, instead, just buff it on a clean, dry car. Spraying one panel at a time. It doesn't streak no where near as bad as Meguairs Ceramic Hybrid, (which is so hard to buff off black cars.) It does buff in super easily compared to other ceramics I've used. But what REALLY surprises me about the Turtle Wax versus any other "ceramic wax" is the performance on wheels. Brake dust is literally a non-issue with Turtle Wax. Megauirs seems to ATTRACT the dust and dirt and those particles seem to "cling" to the coating, which makes cleaning wheels very difficult and time consuming. Since I've switched to the Turtle Wax 1 Step, my wheels still look brand new and clean even after heavy braking. I can't believe how well that stuff works. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Excellent review and I have now subscribed. Following these videos I purchased this directly from turtle wax via eBay £15 for 2 bottles (there weren't any other deals at the time). I've used it twice now. Once when the car was wet. It left a bit of a streaky finish that was a bit harder than I expected to buff off. The second time I used it I applied it dry, and was much easier. Thanks for the videos. Please keep them coming.

Very useful video. One thing to keep in mind (since how much you apply is critical to usability) is that the Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray becomes much more difficult to apply consistently once you get to the last 10% or so of the bottle. I also found that the spraying mechanism literally fell apart as the bottle started to run dry. Aside from that, it's a great product (just don't apply too much).

Love a good durability test. I have said this before but it is important to remember that chemical resistance is a great quality to have, but it is not the full story for total durability as mechanical durability or just plain weathering and time also needs to be factored in.
So whilst in this test Moonlight was the least chemically resistant, it is likely that it would be the most or second most mechanically durable product. Of course, that test would take several months to complete so isn't as instantly gratifying but should be something to consider, especially over winter.
In any case, it's great there are so many great products out there. One I would like to see tested (although there has been a recent change) is Wowo's Crystal Sealant. The old version I found excellent for durability, but I never see it tested anywhere. Their Contact 121 Wax is also impressive with a 121 degree contact angle. About as beady as it gets.

My general impression though is that if you properly prepare the paint, trim and glass you should see 12-18 months. One tip IF you decide to go that route is to use every drop of it. If you compete your vehicle take the left over into the house. Great for mirrors, shower doors ( any solid surface that could get wet ). If not ... your spray bottle will look weird and may malfunction after about two weeks or so.

Hell....Brian is the reason I went and got some. I had never heard of it before. Brian has long term data as he's used it in a production environment for about 2yrs now. Videos are really informative. As a bonus ..he will reply to emails. If you really want some solid no BS insight reach out to him. The 2 top detailing channels imo ( no sales, gimmicks, or fluff ) are John's ( here ) and Brian over at Apex Detail.
On a side note...I tend to go for more look than protection. I guess there's balance there but I lean gloss and shine. If I get something that gives me enough protection to make it through a Michigan winter ( 6-9 ) months I'm generally happy. I’m betting in a few months you’ll be able to get TW Ceramic for $5 less just like Mcquiars. The ease of putting on TW ceramic is worth it to me. So easy to wipe on and off, and the polish is just as easy to use. Bottle will last a one or two car person easily a year + too.

fusso or bsd are not my favorites, but its so personal isnt it... I understand why people pick them and are happy, and I like love the fact they are monsters in terms of durability and water behvaiour for great value.. but for me Sonax BSD is not a great drying aid.. I want slick and slippy as a drying aid, I just find it too glupey and stiff. if I wax as well I tend to want to use a nuba dominant product for how they look.

@@ForensicDetailing I really don't have any issues with BSD as a drying aid. I use another bottle that sprays a mist and dilute it down 70/30 with Megs Last Touch. I like that it leaves no streaks nor does it need buffing when used this way. Granted it is not as enjoyable as applying something like DDsi but it's a bead monster that is really durable and cheap! And it matches well the synthetic nature of Fusso.

    Awesome video Jon!
That where some heavy hitters you put the new TW Hybrid Solution Ceramic Spray Coating against. Impressed with it's durability and the gloss from it. Will see how it's priced here in Sweden when it comes here. It looks like when you use these Hybrid Solution line of products you can get an awesome synergy on your vehicals protection. The HS Ceramic Polish and Wax as the primer and after the 24h cure time apply the Ceramic Spray Coating and maybe another 24h if possible to get 2 layers off it on the paint. It's just for me personally I like to test out different products on my car LOL. But still have this as a base protection and then if wanted to get outside of the TW products could work great. And if it's so durable that you would get a year of longevity from it. Then start over with a polishing step with the Ceramic Polish and Wax and top it with Ceramic Spray Coating again.
Say that I would have this TW HS Ceramic Polish and Wax and Ceramic Spray Coating as the base protection. Then maintance washes with wash products that don't leave anything behind as in protection and glossenhancers. Since it seems to the highest hydrophobic performance wears off quite quickly. Would it be a good thing to just put on another coat with the HS Ceramic Spray Coating every month? Just to keep the hydrophobic performance from it as high as possible during the year before I would be doing a polishing step again. As you get a good amount of the HS Ceramic Spray Coating and since the SiO2 in it may not last over a couple of years before it hardens in the bottle. And if you have a car or 2 you can have some of the HS Ceramic Spray Coating left after a couple of years if you use it yearly and top it with another HS product. Have noticed this with other SiO2 products that they have a year of shelf life or just a little more. So it would not be waisting product but more use it up.
Looking forward to see the more in depth video. And other videos about the prep work you have mentioned in other comments.

I enjoy your videos but...What I am really interested in, is how easy it is to clean a dirty car after using a particular product. It is all well and good looking at sheeting and droplets on the car and repeatedly spraying a clean surface but I don't care how the water runs off or forms droplets. I've used the Turtle Wax Spray Sealant (ranked #1 in your test) and IMO it is useless for shrugging off dirt. I rinsed, snow-foamed and rinsed and there is still a distinct layer of fine dirt on the car (2 year old, low milage, MB living in a garage). Perhaps I'm expecting too much of these products but I really feel tests should reflect real life so we can see how easily the dirt comes off as well as making the car look good. My ideal product would be something that can provide a "touchless" wash.

The mrs brought me the turtle wax sealant hydrophobic was about 2 wks ago and I tried it on my car last Sunday. Loved the ease of application and the shine and smoothness it gave, the smoothness was comparative to power lock I felt. I agree with what you said about its ability to bead its good but not a bead monster although I think it’s a good sheeter. Gonna be interesting to see how long it lasts in real world daily driving. One thing I have noticed is that the dirt does seem to be attracted to it, mind you we are in the winter so more crap is getting thrown up and being a white car it’s more noticeable.
