    I did a two coat app when this first came out. Worked out really nice, gave me a solid 3 months of protection, then it slowed up and was time to refresh. It works great in conjunction with their Ceramic Wet Wax as a drying aid too. But I will say, the Ceramic Spray Coating can be a nightmare to remove in my experience if you get it on glass. My issues with most of the current turtle wax lineup is it's very streaky, and I hate excessive buffing, especially in Springtime with a constant downpour of pollen. Have to work quick with natures sandpaper falling on the car. I was able to do 9 applications between 2 cars I maintain, which impressed me for 13 bucks. I find priming a microfiber applicator pad, one spray per panel and a three towel removal method gets me where I want to be. If you don't have a mostly pristine microfiber to finish, it can be streak city! Not going to be a repeat customer though, I'm using Griot's Foaming Poly gloss all the time now, it's just too easy to use and it works on everything.

    I have used tw csc before, what I find weird about it is that it is very resistant in chemical resistance, but much worse in the real world?!. Example, Meguiar's HCW (blue bottle) VS tw csc, after several weeks and several rains, the minerals drying out reduce the hydrophobic effect. By putting a few shots of Iron decon spray, the hydrophobic effect of HCW comes back very well, but not csc! It turns in sheeting?!. For my part in real test HCW is better.

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  Před 3 lety +1

      It is a trigger pull tester. I just can’t day the g-word when describing it due to various monetization censorship issues :(. It works very well due to the sensitivity.
      As far as real world its always hard to tell. Some cars get exposed to salt and harsh water. Some get a ton of UV. Others stay garaged at all times when not on the road. Real world is usually harsher than my test. HCW is a great product.

    When you was with soap sprayed on by foam cannon. The PH of the soap is increased, its a more concentrated soap in comparison to your soap in a wash bucket

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  Před 3 lety

      This depends on the dilution ratio you're using for the bucket and the foam gun. I use a 9/1 dilution ratio and the solution is pH neutral at that ratio, I've measured it.

    • @Dee--Jay
      @Dee--Jay Před 3 lety

      @@DmitrysGarage i don't get it. Even at 9 to 1, its alot more concentrated than 1 ounce per gallon which is like 128 to 1. Even a ph soap will be not ph after you add so much soap.... • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  Před 3 lety

      It's possible there are strong surfactants or some kind of solvents in the soap. It could also be that your soap is not ph neutral at that concentration. As you can guess different soaps mare made of different compounds.

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 Před rokem

      No! 😀 I'm referring to buffing off the product - the product under test! I often find that it takes more work than it does in the demos, to TRULY achieve a streak free finish. I'm suggesting that incomplete removal may be the reason for the reduction in gloss

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  Před rokem

      Ah, but this product isn't meant to be buffed off mechanically though.

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 Před rokem

      @@DmitrysGarage that's fine, but my question still stands - is it possible that you didn't buff it off thoroughly enough, thus resulting in a reduction of gloss? I'm just asking the question.
      Regarding machine buffing, is there any reason not to use a machine, to speed up the process? Just because it doesn't mention machine buffing on the label doesn't mean it definitely won't be effective

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  Před rokem

      @@gregsullivan7408 Greg, I do not believe failure to fully buff off is the case. As far as trying such a method, the goal of my testing is to compare products based on how the manufacturers intend them to be used. I understand there may be other ways of applying them, but as you can imagine I'd have 50 people asking me why I buffed it off with a machine if I did. I believe it would invalidate the testing to not follow manufacturer instructions. Some products do apply well with a machine applicator, but I've personally never seen anyone buff products off with one. Typically you use the buffer with a very soft pad to apply a product and then buff it off the same way you would if applying by hand. The loss of gloss is something virtually all products show, and this is largely due to the surface already being polished to a high shine. Shine is largely a factor of polishing and not product application. Visual qualities like depth, character, candy appearance, etc.. are more of what the products create. On dull surfaces, like poorly maintained paint, many products will add shine. However, those are poor substrates and would negatively affect the rest of the testing. So the goal is to find products that hit shine the least or in rare cases improve it, while also having a nice deep look.

      I would suggest using a strip wax, I’ve had good results with Adam’s. Some isopropyl alcohol can also work wonders and a clay bar can help to clean up anything leftover if you want to really go all out. Optionally you can also use an iron remover but your car is pretty new and you’re not polishing. I would do those steps in that order before getting to any wet sanding and/or polishing.

    So the Adams Advanced Graphene coating, in my opinion not worth the money.
    I bought it about 3 weeks ago.
    Had enough time to do a quick coat on my Ford Escape before the cold weather set in.
    It performed well on the first wash after application….but subsequently not happy with its performance.
    Rain or snow leaves water spots which are hard to get rid of.
    Ended up doing a Polish to thin it out.
    It’s not a coating you can layer and the 12 oz bottle is more than enough for one car if you have more than one car to do.
    I don’t……so the product dried on the sprayer and now it’s useless.
    So I ended up returning it.
    I tried to get a new sprayer from Adams with no luck.
    I think there is too much hype bout GRAPHENE.
    I’m going back to good old ceramics.
    Anything not in a glass bottle is just fluff and won’t give you the durability for your hard work.
    Stick to the German, Japanese, English and Korean coatings and you won’t be disappointed.

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  Před rokem

      Thats too bad! Ive had good luck with it. Water spots are a pain, seems to be a challenge for a lot of coatings, especially sprays, if the water is very hard or has salt and grime. You can layer the product, but typically sprays are meant to be quick so many people don’t.
      As far as the product drying in the bottle, again common issue with many high silica content sprays. What I have been recommending is take a little isopropyl alcohol in say a bottle cap. Pull out the spray nozzle and dip the tube into the isopropyl. Shoot all if it through the nozzle until it runs dry. Put it back in the bottle. Ive lost way too many nozzles to various products before learning this.

    Can I apply this every two weeks which is when I was it? I park my car outside in the elements.

      You could. I don't think you would have to re-do it that often, but if you want to I don't see why it'd be a problem.

      Haha well the story originally was that their product’s protection was hard like a turtle shell. If i remember right they started up around WW2.

    It would have done better if he wouldn’t have half ass applied it ! A big thick towel is not how you apply waxes or sealants ,also this product says to put a second coat on 24 hours later, his towel was just skipping across the surface

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  Před 3 lety

      The product says you *can* apply a second coat in 24 hours. This was explained in detail in the video. The edgeless eagle towels work great for spreading around sprays and buffing off liquids/solids, they're literally made for this purpose.

      @@DmitrysGarage I also heard you say you had some streaking, I think that would be directly related to the thick towel, I applied mine with a microfiber sponge pad and had absolutely no streaking at all , my car looks like it has a new layer of glass all over it - love your videos though
