4 Heatpipes, 148mm height. - Jak na to + styl
Short, sweet and to the point. Liked.
I completely missed the standoffs on the manual and thought it wasnt compatable with my motherboard
Glad the internet exists
same thing just happened to me, thank god i found this
thank you so much, for lga 1700 is the same process as the intel one. I struggled with screwing the heatsink though.
Wonderful, thank you!
Quality and character very good.
extremely helpful!!! thank you!
i tested the thermal paste and its actually pretty good
i read "i tasted" 💀
😂😂@@Sky-dy1df
wow only 148mm height ? what is all of the measurements?
i lost one of the mounting cable things can i use a zip tie to replace it?
Thanks !
That's a lotta thermal grease.. BTW I recommend not tightening the metal brackets, and dry fit the heatsink first (screw heatsink on metal brackets without removing protective plastic or adding thermal grease) then tighten the metal brackets, remove heatsink. Test the metal bracket locations by dry fitting the heatsink one more time, then remove plastic, add thermal grease and install/tighten the heatsink all the way. Otherwise you may find yourself not being able to align the heatsink screws properly, thus causing a mess...
Great tip
Way too much thermal paste placed in a strange pattern too. I put about one of those dollops in the middle and it always works great.
i was getting so frustrated then i realized i put the brackets upside down…….
Thanks you sir 🫡
Is any different between assassin x 120 R se vs assassin x 120 se (missing R ) on Amazon I see this product but missing R (revise or refined) is it the same product or different.. thx
Yeah, there is a difference.. One has ARGB and one dont.. So one has an extra cable and one dont..
Hey! Do you know wether I have to use the red am4 stand offs cause I dont want to have miss matched colours
Can you see them when it is installed? They're black so it's hard to tell in the video
Compatible con socket intel lga 2011 v3?
Thanks for the video! Now i know i got the wrong backplate in the motherboard.
where does the argb pin go?
you're not the only one! - let me know if you figure it out please! thanks!
@@NE-Media.inc. apparently motherboard needs to be argb compatible if you dont have argb port then you can't have rgb
I put the brackets the wrong way 😂
Me too
Fan clip does not feel secure
nice totu
THis or king
Thermalright - please put the fan/air direction arrows back on the fan! The rubber pads face the heatsink in case you were wondering.
not needed, you can tell which way a fan blows from looking at 20 feet away
Is it compatible with AM5?
it is.
Did you end up installing this on the AM5 platform? If so, are the installation instructions basically the same as the AM4 guide illustrated?
It's pretty bad AM4 has such ugly standoffs, there should be a better way to tell them apart, like squares vs circles or a letter/number on the plastic.
Am 5 compatible too... Right?
yes
am4 and 5 use the same bracket
Waaay too much thermal paste. 🧐
You can basically do however much you're little heart desires. It has very little to no impact as long as you enough
@@rayjukenl3497 Wrong. It's about stopping the micro amount of air passing through underneath the contact point and how heat distributes between said met connection surface gap. Not properly distributed can cause problems.
@@f2i7afg345wz you can talk about theory all you want but there's a dozen videos proving that it doesn't really matter. You may get 1-2 degree difference but unless you do some serious overclocking it really doesn't matter
@@rayjukenl3497 Not theory. 26+ years tech build experience. A centered pea size is enough and effective, and stops air passing through. There's also been studies proving how thermal contact works, explaining why a pea size is only necessary. You also save more money (covering the whole CPU is just marketing to sell more thermal paste faster) But, hey... if it makes you sleep better at night knowing you coated your whole CPU, do it. But also know by doing so, you actually risk slightly higher CPU temps do to more chance of air bubbles and improper seating... Slightly high enough to matter? Maybe. Maybe not. It depends on your level of geekery. Pea sized, that's it. Don't fall for the marketing hype. Or do. And buy more thermal paste to cure OCD.
Hey pal, I have 27+ years of experience in this field and Ray is 100% right. One time I used so much thermal paste it spudged out of the sides and dropped onto the motherboard, my temps were actually .1 degrees lower (Celsius) than when I used a "Pea sized" drop. Please do your research before you argue with a veteran.
My dogshit cooler never came with the intel screws so I just threw it in a bin
