    I have a noctua nhd15 on my 7700x with the PPT limited to 85watts (down from the stock of 105) and also undervolted -30 mv's. I haven't seen it go above 81C which is pretty nice since these run pretty hot at stock settings.

    Seems like a nice cooling option that allows you to have more freedom with the RAM that you get with the full RAM clearance. The Scythe Fuma 3 is probably still the best if case size isn't a constraint as that also has extra clearance for RAM and is a dual fan CPU cooler, but for a less expensive smaller option the Assassin X 120 could make for part of a nice budget constrained PC build where you need everything as affordable as possible (like if going for an Intel 12100f or a Ryzen 5600 CPU that can easily be cooled by the Assassin X).

    • @musek5048
      @musek5048 Před rokem +3

      @@vergil1426 it worked out great. It was hitting 70c under load using a stock wraith prism ( I used this cooler for both my rigs) and after switching to the assassin king I now max out at 60-62c under load. Much quieter too with the 120mm fan. The wraith prism is a great cooler if you were able to get one with the CPUs they came bundled with or bought one for under 20 bucks like I did. Beyond 20 bucks I'd rather get a tower cooler like this unless you just like the look of the prism like I did with its mirage effects. It's a bit noiser but not a terrible choice either. This assassin king knocks it out of the park though and looks great with its all white heatsink. Definitely recommend it!

    Just bought this for my R7-5800X3D, think it should be more then good enough.
    Update:
    This CPU cooler can safely cool this above mentioned CPU (in gaming temps are around 70-90) but the temps are too high for my liking.
    Therfore i ordered the Peerless Assassin to replace this cooler.
    I also ordered Arctic MX-6 thermal paste to compliment the new cooler.
    This should bring the temps down by another 10 degrees Celsius.

    • @pierre-yvesdubreuil9315
      @pierre-yvesdubreuil9315 Před 11 měsíci

      is the Peerless much better in the end? Is suspect not that much..?
      In any case there are ways to modify a cooler to make it better, like upgrading the fan and bending the fins (around 30 degrees) closest to fan at the middle portion along the heatpipes. Air flow great at the top and bottom of the cooler, but in between, not much. You could also sharpen or round the fins edge also closest to fan blades to reduce turbulence and noise. This should considerably give better performance.
