    Great to see you have the old Phanteks TC14PE in your list of tested coolers and suprised to see the Assassin King 120 outperform it.. Would love to see how the new Scythe Fuma 2 Rev.B stacks up against that list !

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  Před 2 lety +2

      I think the TC14PE would outperform it at 200 watts, but theTC14PE isn't very effective at dissipating heat quickly it's just huge, and I'll add the Fuma 2 Rev b to the list.

    • @chairman67
      @chairman67 Před 2 lety +1

      Fuma 2 Rev.B test, that's brilliant. Currently I'm using the TC14PE's little brother to cool an Intel quad core, the TC12DX with it's 4 heat pipe design. It is sufficient enough with a mild overclock. In future I'm planning to upgrade to the new Zen 4 Ryzen 8 core AM5 socket and if the TC12DX is not up to the task I am then looking to change it for a Fuma 2 Rev.B, which all the reviews I've watched show it performs top tier at those higher TDPs with it's 6 heat pipes and improved fan performance. It's compact & well thought out design makes it perfect for the NR200 case as covered on the Machines & More channel. A great litttle cooler !

    What I like about Thermalright is that they included a great high tier thermal paste in TF7, not just a cheap white silicon thermal grease to enhance the heatsink performance.

    • @rvth

    • @HardwareForGamers

    Thanks for the great review!! One thing I noticed about this cooler (purely from product listing videos and pictures, I don't own one) is that there seems to be 2 variations, one that is not direct contact (like you show at 1:53 & 2:45) and one that is (across all models). I don't know exactly what effect the difference would have, but I thought it worth mentioning. Rarely listed in the product descriptions or specs, so be sure to confirm visually which version you will be getting before you buy.

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  Před rokem +3

      The older version of the assassin king (this cooler) is not direct contact. The newer version the assassin king (SE) is direct contact.

    Hi, seeing how responsive you are to recent questions, I thought I'd drop my own: I recently bought this cooler (although it's the uncoloured version). So far it works amazingly well for the price, but I'm not sure how to control the RGB - it's just kinda orange right now. I noticed you had a SATA powered remote control thingy - is that something I have to buy separately?

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  Před rokem +3

      If the LEDs on the fan are on you must have the 3 pin 5v ARGB header plugged in to the motherboard. So to change the color of the LEDs you'll need to use the RGB software for your motherboard.

    REALLY nice temps compared to the Arctic 34 which is pretty stinkin good! I'll be rebuilding an older pc, i5- 4690k as well as an 11400 withing the next 2 weeks.. Cryorig M9i (120tdp) vs 212evo results coming soon! 11400 CAN pull "up to" 200 Watts which is.. WHOA!! (65watt chip with pl1-pl2 unlocked...will be testing the GB b560 Auros pro ax to see if the 92mm monster handles it as well as a 212evo which is everyone's "go-to" since 1942 of course...lol ((btw the 10700f @ 4.65 all core clocks CAN pull 244 Watts but as i've seen, only benchmarking the poor thing to heck to check a few things.. it's in a gaming and streaming rig)) WIll also let you know about 10700f with gtx980ti, Rx5600xt and either the 3060ti or 6700xt.. Unsure which I am grabbing just yet and may say "to hell with eating!" and grab a 3080 12g for 999... I'll let ya know once I leave Microcenter! lol
