He was charged with murder at 14 years old. They were going to move him to the adult system, and 4 people came forward and spoke on his behalf to keep him in the juvenile system. He was basically granted a second chance and was released in 98 at the age of 21. I assume his juvenile record was sealed at that point.
He wasn't the shooter. His friend was in the robbery. But he has bragged about doing a lot of disgusting things.
Yeah he even brags about telling the other guy that was his charg partner that he gave the gun to and told him to shoot the person that came out of Charleston Whites mouth that the courthouse said that he was The Mastermind behind it the man is a fraud.

I remember a teacher of mine talking about parents who use violence against their children. He spoke about those parents not having enough verbal tools in their inventory, and when their words run out they feel powerless and resort to their physical power.
A person like this might also suffer from inadequacies that lead them to choose the violent path more often, especially as a smaller, less intimidating individual.
Parents not showing some sort of discipline to their kids is the reason for the sky high crime rate.

Studies show that using violence against kids, even spanking, increases the odds of them using violence as adolescents and adults because it teaches them that violence is an option to get what they want. Discussing the issue with kids and using social punishment (you'd be disappointed in them, they'd be ashamed, they'd lose access to friends or events, etc.) is more effective and doesn't damage the parental bond the way violence does. Unless you need to physically pull your kid away from something that's going to injure them, laying hands on a kid only damages your relationship, encourages them to hide behaviors from you, and demonstrates that it's okay to use violence to get what they want.
Kids also very much want to their parents approval and social belonging, so leveraging this is still effective punishment.
Crime rates, especially violent crime, has gone down dramatically over the last several decades. Look it up. The spike from the pandemic still hasn't risen it to the rates we were seeing in the 80s. There are many factors (unleaded gasoline, better social services, etc.) but less violent punishment is also believed to be a factor.
There's no good reason to strike a child and this is backed up by many scientific studies. Is there any proof that striking children is good discipline?

I had a lot of respect for Camp Newton as a quarterback for the Panthers (Broncos die hard talking here 😉) - he was a very talented, though sometimes I felt he was a little too arrogant towards other players on and off the field.

Yeah, I've been a vet nurse for about 25 years, and I've seen some shit over the years that I really can't discuss with anyone apart from my colleagues, because it's too upsetting to burden others with. Suffice to say, humans absolutely suck. And the laws intended to punish and discourage such crimes against animals are woefully inadequate.

Bruce, I've spoken to you (or maybe Michael) about possibly covering the Karen Read case which is local to me in Canton, MA. There is SO much to this case and it keeps getting crazier. There are so many layers so it would definitely take a while to cover it. I would LOVE to hear what your thoughts and perspective on this case are as a defense lawyer. It is truly insane.

@@alcesspectre not vegan but I don’t think any animal should be abused or tortured. I know it’s a conflict to eat animals 😬 I tried being a vegetarian for a few years and I became anemic.
@@Jennifermcintyre Fair enough. I can't help but see the contradictions in people's lifestyles when the topic of animal abuse comes up, because everyone gets so outraged, but its basically something they pay for every day... Respect for trying to be better. I know it's not easy to do.
