It should have immediately occurred to this woman that if a little girl was competing in a mother/daughter pageant with her nanny, she must not have a mother. If winning a country club pageant is so important to you that you’ll shame a motherless child, you must lead a really miserable life.
True. It's a good thing we never saw that character again.
Amen! I didn’t like the way she tried to one-up Fran with all her accomplishments and had the nerve to send in her daughter to get info from Gracie like that. That really was messed up.
They’re rich white women. Not really that shocking.
@@reyrey7775 Race and color have nothing to do with it. It may be that they are Rich!
Why? She could have immediately assumed the mommy was a working mommy and hired someone else to raise her child ie a nanny!
I love how Fran keeps their moms memory alive and respects her
Yes. I also love the episode where Sarah's parents try to block Fran from adopting the kids because they worry they don't think about their mom till the kids chime in that Fran has always honored their memory.
Yes. I love how respectful the show was towards Maxwell's first wife. He loved her very much, and then she died. He eventually moved on, and loves Fran, but she always understood the importance of Sarah
@msfriendsfan4ever788 She's a great woman and it's Why sarah chose fran in the first place to be the new mom
What's the name of the Hebrew tradition to have a Memorial service for the children's mom?

The human soul is a light from God. May it be your will that the soul of (insert name) enjoy eternal life, along with the souls of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah, and the rest of the righteous that are in Gan Eden. Amen
It's really a great thing to show, that kids don't necessarily remember the parent who passed away and it's not bizarre to not miss them
My stepdad passed away when my younger brothers were 6 and 4. I almost feel guilty that I had so much more time with him than they did. The memories of him are still very present in my head, while they barely remember him. Sometimes I bring up the funny things he used to say and do so they know what a great guy he was. Both are fully grown now and are fantastic human beings.
@@emusaurus im 15, my little cousin is 5, our grandpa died In 2017 and it’s the same for me. I don’t have much memories but more than Him
You can’t miss what you didn’t know.
@@thegayestgoth Grace did know her mom, though. Sarah didn't die in childbirth, Grace had 2/3 years with her mom.
This episode made me laugh and cry. At the end, they watched home movies Fran made of Sara, Max's first wife, for the family to remember her by.
Fran is an absolute gem. She’s really does love the kids she cares for and doesn’t try to make the kids forget their mother or try to take her place. She takes on the role of a mother but never tried to be a replacement for Sarah, Fran is more like Surrogate for Sarah. She shows true respect towards the kids mother and makes sure they never forget Sarah by showing them old tapes of her and lighting a candle on Sarah’s birthday. She’s a good representation of a classy lady
She's a mom-figure for Gracie, a counselor and confidant for troublemaking Brighton, and a sister-bestie for Maggie. She caters to each kid's needs because they need different things from a caretaker who isn't their mom. She knew Maggie didn't need a mom, so she befriended her. She knew Brighton did need a mom but wouldn't want Fran to replace her, so she became an unorthodox therapist and buddy. And Gracie needed a mom the most, so Fran became a mothering figure to her without erasing Sarah.
People knock Fran for not being super bright or educated, but she is EXTREMELY emotionally intelligent.
@@arithefierysecretary6411 Even though it's important to be smart you need to understand people more.
"Don't ever try out for cheerleader!"
Great line based on a hilarious current event at the time. 😂
@@CornbreadOracle What was the event?
@@dieterdelange9488 there was a case in texas I believe about a mom who hired a ht man to kill the mom of her daughters cheerleading rival...
@@littlesongbird1 yup and it was made into a movie with Holly Hunter called The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader Murdering Mother.
@@Stefan-ji2ek There was also a TV movie that aired on ABC called _Willing to Kill: The Texas Cheerleader Story_ starring *Lesley Ann Warren.* Incidentally, *Fran* also made a reference in this clip to the *Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan* scandal (which was ongoing at the time) when she said that Plan B was to "call *Gillooly."* 😂
Fran's relationship with Gracie never stopped being adorable ❤
This, I believe, is the best episode out of the whole series. We learn a lot more about the family and how much the relationship between Fran and Gracie has grown.
We were all crying with you Fran
And to think years later we find out Sarah herself choose Fran to be there for her family.
Yep. Fran was Max's forever love, chosen by Sarah herself.
Wow, I didn't know this. May I know how did Sarah choose Fran?
@@nadiajr1500 she came to her in a dream to tell her that when she showed up to the Sheffield door she knew she’d be prefect for her family. It’s what solidified Fran marrying Max
@@TavaresTaylor I see. Thank you for letting me know
@@nadiajr1500 It's in the episode where Max and Fran get married - there's a clip of it here on youtube, It's called "Max has an emotional talk with his late wife"
Their acting is impeccable and this episode in particular was amazing 🥺
This episode always makes me cry but I think it is so beautiful the way Fran never replaced their mother she was another extension of love 💕
One of the earliest but very best episodes from The Nanny. Hilarious, very entertaining - including Patty Labelle's surprise appearance - and when they got real at the end... I cried like a baby!! And that doesn't happen all too often.
Lol. I Love that scene with Pattie Labelle and Fran was like don't they have rules. And Gracie was like, "They changed the rules for us!"
I love that episode too. The end is always making me cry. ❤️
One of the most memorable lines from the show is at the end when Gracie says “I remember” 😢
Fran is a wonderful mother figure
I always loved the way they dressed Gracie
Yes, and I loved her room too!
This episode is one of my favorites! I love it not only because it shows the relationship between Fran and Gracie, but the relationship between Gracie and Maxwell.
Sometimes I wish I hadn't been that old when my dad passed away. I was 15, young enough to miss him, old enough to remember him.
I cried so much when I first watched this episode. I lost my older brother when I was 4 and felt this way. The nanny addressed so many issues
“Me and Fran are gonna kick some country club butt!” ☺️💖
Wonder where she heard that from
Silicone chest had a silicone heart
I grew up without my father. I feel like I can relate and this makes me love this show even more. If I had see this episode growing up it would have meant the world to me.
In fact, it's one of the most touching, soulful episodes of the serial🥲
This episode was one of my favorites especially at the end when Gracie said "I remember!"
Or the part where fran and the other mom started naming all the pageants they won 🤣
How often does that happen in this show
Unfortunately, pageant people like this can really be that vile and vicious. Victory at all costs.
Damn, imagine CC had to take Gracie to this event!
She probably would’ve laughed along with the mom
A diaster .
I can actually see CC fight that other mom 🤣
I don't know if it's the fact that i'm 6 months pregnant, or that this was just truly say, but I started bawling when she said: "That's just it - I don't remember".
How important it is to fondly remember those we lost, however sad the loss. I always loved this message from The Nanny.
This show was so uplifting. Fran was like an angel sent from above to light up the lives of three children who who had lost their mother. Seems like Niles instantly recognised it and knew that Fran would perfectly fulfil the emptiness that fell upon the Sheffields when Sarah died.
Actually, it is later revealed that Sarah sent Fran to the Sheffields.
I just realized that the mean mom plays Anna DiMera on Days of our Lives.
Well, I'm not crying.
No I'm not.
I swear.
This episode always makes me a little sad . I lost my mom when I was a little girl too , I remember getting teased because of it. I wish I had a fran in my life . ❤️❤️❤️
❤
I love the way this episode ends. The music played, In silence meanwhile everybody is having their own memories about Sarah.
They are so sweet ❤️💖
That is a cute scene
I love the connection between fran and Gracy
Fran and Maxwell time to start my Sunday Funday. She and Gracie’s outfits look adorable. Gracie is such a sweetheart.
Blood doesn't make family. Love makes family. Fran loves Gracie that is what family really means.
4:03 I was the same way while watching this
This broke my heart for them to do that to this little girl.. 💔
This was a beautiful episode. Well done by all.
Love The Nanny 😊😊
Thanks and appreciate for all sharing 😊😊
This series has it all,it should be more known
Those purple stockings...😍😍
I think Gracie is the Cat's Meow ! * !
I want to know what place are the mean lady and her daughter got I hope they got no award
The outfit is 😍
not the grown woman going after the 6 yo whose mother died so she could win a single contest that she's already won 3x in a row 💀💀
this is sad but I keep thinking of the episode of full house when Michelle gets amnesia and is told that even when she does get her memory she's not gonna remember her mom.
1:18, little Regina George 😈
i love this show so much
I wish they had seen where who the winner was and Fran and Gracie getting second place cause I’m assuming Patti LaBelle and her daughter won and I would’ve loved to seen that mean girl and her mom reaction
POOR GRACIE I WHAT TO HER HUG HER HELD HER , SHE SO CUTE SWEET SHE NEED LOVE ,,AND HER DAD ,
those were the days
Best show
I would love to see the full episode.
Such a sad moment
Okay who’s cutting onions?! 😭
My poor mom lost her birth mother at a young age, and then her father quickly remarried, so she says she doesn't have much memory of her birth mother but her stepmom helped tell her things about her, showed her some stuff her mother had done in her life and such, more so than her dad
Dearest Fran...😍🥰😘
Open...
Hey, do you know what Full House and this show have in common? They both center around families, and have dead mommy issues.
em que emissora de TV acabo encontro essa série maravilhosa

The piano piece at the end is so touching...who played it though 😊

Boa noite
I wasn't young when I lost mom but I was 2 when my grandpa died and I don't remember him at all but yet can remember things that happened that year like my uncle getting in an accident remembered he was in a cast for a long time getting burned out of our trailer and moving into the new trailer the day after thanksgiving which those were closer to when I was 3 to so my memory of those are a little more clearer which the moving part happened after I turned three grandpa died earlier that year
She ran all the way home?
Damn, that mother must be so miserable enough to ruin a child's day just because you wanna be a Karen. 🙄
it dosent age
How old was Gracie when her mom died?
I don’t remember how their mother died. Was it ever mentioned in the series?
No, I think they intentionally left it ambiguous so that it wouldn't take too much focus off of the current family and our connection to them
What's the name of that Hebrew tradition to have a memorial service for the children's mom?

May we never forget.
