- Thank you all for being patient. This video is specifically dedicated to Neil Kendall who asked me to demonstrate some of the dx7 presets with effects. I figured I would make a full blown song out of them, and added a Roland R8 drum machine for percussion. Let me know if I should try to make an extended version.
Beautiful! Well done!
I still own both DX7IID and R8 from the days they came out. 😊
Amazing! As for me, it sounds like if Type O Negative were synth-pop band. Awesome sound!
I love it! It reminds me of Marillion ❤
Good demo both are great machines!I love making beats with the dx7II.
Nice ! Keep making music, you have a good feeling :) Greetings from France
Nice! Bach would have been so jealous of some serious gear! Thanks for sharing.

Awsome! I have both DX7 II fd, and Roland R8. I know exactly what you mean. Nice tune btw.
Thanks!
The r eight is great for driving eight and twelve bit samplers , If you don't use the humanized function It's a very mechanistic sounding machine , I don't want to use the word industrial , Because when that word started getting used the original underground art movements became corrupted by the industry , But check out the front 242 up evil and off albums .
What effects did u run it thru?
I mostly used Logic Pro's built-in Chromaverb on every track, the stock chorus on FullTines, and the stock echo on Super Bass. I also have an Alesis Midiverb ii that would like to get running.
Does she have Grey Matter?
No, she does not.

R-8 is from 1989 not 1988.

According to measurements from Innerclock Systems, the R8 has the worst MIDI jitter value of all hardware devices, groove boxes and drum computers ever on the market. The device is therefore useless as a MIDI slave in conjunction with a hardware sequencer or similar.
