TD Jakes is clever at using many words that suggest profundity, words that leave several people enamored with his oratory. However, these statements are usually devoid of real divine depth and eternal meaning.
For a bishop, who leads a Christian ministry, he has spoken at length without: mentioning the Savior’s name, making any reference to the Bible or talking about sin.
This whole session could easily have been an interview with Malcolm Gladwell or Tony Robbins speaking about a book they just wrote and you would not discern a difference.
Furthermore, this philosophy and description of extraordinariness comes pre-loaded with many problems. I could read about Ted Kaczynski or Ted Bundy in the library, but that does not mean their example was beneficial to society. Conversely, I could work hard and become an accomplished innovator and business person with a great influence within society; however, all of that is still worthless before God if I reject Christ, His Son.
The Bible says in Mark 8:36: “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?”
The moment a Christian minister starts to strategically strip his message of God’s eternal word and proceeds to lay a foundation from the bricks of positivity and affirmation alone, he loses many things the foremost being an incontrovertible moral touchstone.
This kind of generic message is offered for its marketability, its seeker-friendliness and its congeniality to the ear.
It does not convict, it does not censure and it does not mandate holiness. It just leaves you with the same hunger, which you will try to satisfy by purchasing the next book!

Yeah I can understand you thinking that. I think maybe you should read the book to try to understand though . It’s difficult to sum up one’s thoughts in a few clips. People who God has given the thoughts and dreams and talents ( disRuptive) usually know who they are and fear and the way you think usually is what keeps them down. The person who created Starbucks wasn’t the first one that thought coffee all day was a good idea. Of course your plan needs to line up with God’s plan but God gives you a tree you have to make the table or the chair. You have to move in order for God to order your steps. ❤

Most people are something I've never been which is a 'follower' I've never been and will never follow others. I have no problem being alone or talking to anyone about anything. Sit alone with nothing in your hand, tv off etc. and listen to yourself. T.D. Jakes has found what most people lack and has made a career out of telling you common sense is what most don't have and following others is what most people do. Most people aren't in your best interest and seldom will they tell you something that up lifts you be very, very careful who you interact with.

You cannot be a friend to the world or love the things of the world. If you are a friend to the world and the things in the world, you are not following Yah, who is GOD. I believe our creator wants us to be happy, but not without Him because he is peace, joy and love. He is the source of all these beautiful things but if he exclude Him, entirely, we can't save our own souls by getting what we "want." We have to consecrate ourselves, and sacrifice, you know, die to self for us to be in His will. This man is a BISHOP, PASTOR, ELDER...whatever the title...He is supposed to be a MAN OF GOD with ONE main mission and that's SAVING SOULS. How is this book going to bring people to YAH! How is this book going to bring people into eternal life? How is this talk show episode going to CONVICT people to REPENT our their sins and turn away from their wicked ways? I know we cannot always be heavenly minded, so we are not earthly good BUT our citizenship is not only on earth, it is also IN HEAVEN. So, how is people going to get there if we don't mention THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE who is JESUS CHRIST, Yeshua Ha'mashiach. Peace and Blessings!
In the housing communites please allow people to purchase these homes. Homeownership is so important and too many homes are unaffordable for hardworking folk that pay their bills and rent on time.

2 things can be right sometimes. If you align your life up with God it’s very possible that the life you want is the life God has for you. Read the book and don’t try and sum it up off a 10 min clip.

In 2001, TD Jakes, at the Woman Thou are Loose conference in New Orleans, said, 'You have to think outside the Box'. I had decided earlier that year to leave my job to work for myself. Those words confirmed what I was thinking. I cannot remember anything else about that conference. The entire program could have ended for me because I got my message. Fast forward to 2021, when I decided to be Disruptive and, this time, I walked away from the business I had built, my home and life as I know it. My friends and family questioned my decisions, but my old life no longer served me. I NEEDED to CHANGE. Thank you, Bishop Jakes, for being obedient to God. Thank you, Tamron, for today's show. Jakes has thousands of members if he asked each member for one dollar every Sunday could help change people’s lives? I’ve been praying about the shift that Ive noticed because I have been disconnected with his teachings lately. He’s shifting to please Celebs, People who are rich etc He hasn’t been calling out their sins in his teachings . And each interview that I watch with him has been confirming my observations. But don’t worry, The Jakes family is still in my prayers!
