    I’m in Australia, so I stack Kangaroos and Brittanias as they’re popular here, both being sovereign coins (we’re a Commonwealth member country and the Royals are still popular, so far). However I do collect obe of certain coins which I like for fun, so it’s not all work & investing. So it was good to see some different coins and hear a brief history of them. Thanks so much SD!! • @CFarnwide
      @CFarnwide Před 4 měsíci

      @@SuperCoopdogg Ive noticed the same thing. If you are looking for just one specific date it’s going to carry a hefty premium. Just a couple weeks ago I purchased a tube of random dates for $28 and got 15-2013’s, 3-2017’s, and 2-2022’s. I was happy with the designs and price. When I started collecting Kooks back in 2008 they had a pretty high premium then as well but got lucky on EBay a few times 😎. I don’t recommend EBay for bullion though. I didn’t know any better back in those days.

      @@SuperCoopdogg I’ve also noticed some sites will charge more for older dates of maples and eagles as well. I guess it’s just a marketing thing. I think you should drop the ASE and the Libertad down 1 spot / rank each. Premiums are a huge concern for stackers and even though premiums on ASE's are way down, there is still enough demand to keep the premiums on ASE's above acceptable when compared to other choices on the list. Also, security features. I love ASE's but I think the US Mint needs to go the extra mile with more security features if only to justify the premiums kept high by lower mintages than many other sovereign silver 1oz coins. Very much like that you boosted your list to "top 10". Best wishes.

    I'm in agreement with your list, but I don't think I'd ever stack the ones in your bottom five.
    I hadn't discovered your channel last year, but it's funny that the number one coin I stacked last year was the Britannia. They're beautiful coins.
    I had planned to back off of them this year, but with the kings diagnosis, I am rethinking my decision. Charles might not be on the coins for very long, making them more collectible. Just given his age when he became king it's obvious he won't be on coins anywhere near as long as the queen. I doubt that anyone will last as long as she did.

    Britannia and Maple Leaf coins are awesome... But i wonder that why no one talks about recently closed pobjoy mint Sierra Leone Egyptian coin series.... I haven't seen more beautiful coin than them and my personal favorite is that 1 oz 2023 Osiris coin... It is frost frozen and is exquisite...

    Today is 2/22/24 went to my LCS yesterday wanted to buy some maples, eagles, kangaroos or symphonics. Nothing, had to settle for 2 Franklin's at an ok price then a tour through the reasonably price old coins. A # of Indian heads & early coins appear to to have the mis aligned die syndrome.

    Dirt cheap foreign coins around 2018-19 drove me to diversify. Dog privy maples & oriental border brits have done well. Also got philharmonics & kangaroos back then for ~$10 less than current prices. Been sticking to eagle & 90% for past 5 yrs. Fun stuff has been privateers, egyptian gods, kooks & few exclusive member mk barz.

      What do you mean by struggle? They have the security of being backed by US govt, but the premiums are always insane. You could get Constitutional silver. Those are your options if you're sticking to American silver.

      I tested a lot of those apps, both free and paid. There is a problem, even if you pay those apps are not updated to analyze sound of the newest minted coins. This one is up to date and the results are great. I'm using it fairly often and can't say a bad word about it.

    Out of curiosity: In the 1996 Movie the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Frollo was offering some silver coins to some gypset so they snitched and tells him where Esmeralda was. Do you know which silver coins was Frollo offering them? I mean, the real name.

    What do you mean by stacking?

    • @hydraxc2478
      @hydraxc2478 Před měsícem +2

      Stacking is a term used by collectors of precious metals. It just means collecting. If you have any silver or gold, that would be considered your stack, and accumulating more would be what he means by "stacking".

    I disagree with the Philharmonic. That is number three. The premiums are ridiculously low for a bullion coin. Yeah it is simple and does not have advanced technology. But in the bigger picture, this is the sweet spot for stacking.
